Lucinda is 17 going on 18 within a few weeks but what she doesn't realize her life is about to change forever.  Lucinda was born into a family of pure blood vampires and as she grew her parents trained her on how to feed from humans without causing them harm.  But when she was just 7 years old there was an evil vampire who had been hunting Lucinda since she was born and now that he was close her parents had no choice.  Her father died when he tried to stop him and her mother before a spell that sealed Lucinda's vampire powers until she was 18 which made her completely human and her mother died after that. 

Lucinda has an older brother who is about 10 years older then her and knew what their parents had to do to protect her and promised he would keep her safe.  So for years she has lived under the protection of her older brother while she's in school but now her 18th birthday is approaching and he knows the changes that she will go through and all of her memories will return and he will be there when it all happens.  He loves his sister and will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

Here's the other twist...Lucinda doesnt realize the man shes been living with is her older brother.  Along with her vampire powers that were taken away so were her memories as a vampire which means her family.  So she has fallen for this man she has been living with all this time and as far as she knows he was just a good friend of her parents that were killed in an accident and took her in to take care of her.
