To make matters even worse, it wasn't just some random stranger.  The guy who swiped it was the kid's sister's boyfriend - someone who actually knew him.

which make it worse.that means he did it cause he knew from the start the kid couldn`t do anything about it

Oh noes!  It is like 3x more difficult.  More difficult than just the gravitational pull.  Srsly?  3 pounds?  Yeah, that's difficult.  Not to mention they never attempted distraction.
