She wore her broken wings with an angel's grace
We'll live forever

The world started with a bang.

And so did she.

SE7676—or Sera [pronounced See-Ra] as she preferred to be called — never meant to actually be a developed specimen capable of thinking for herself. She was something of an experiment, a cell programmed by scientists to form a whole new generations of humans. These humans, though incapable of feeling, are totally immune to any disease and have senses that are 10 times better than that of the average human. Not only this, but this new generation was also capable of adapting to high amounts of radiation and breathing underwater.

It was surprising how their genetic experiment would grow into a girl. Growing up, Sera was your average caucasian girl. She had pale skin, an obvious sign of being indoors too much; light brown hair, something she inherited from the "father" donor; and bright blue eyes. The only strange thing about her was that she had gills on the both sides of her abdomen. She spoke well, was very intelligent, and seemed to be a good girl. It was unknown how stable she actually was. This was what drove them to conduct the second part of the experiment.

Being sheltered within the normal premises of her life, it was finally decided that Sera would be sent to a high school in Southern California to see if she could pass as a normal human being. They also wanted to see if she interacted well with them and could socialize with them the way she would with a scientist. Sera was all packed up, and was then sent to live a normal life with two biologists posing as her parents.

It was her first day of school.

She was shaking from both nervousness and excitement. She took in slow, deep breaths. Sera viewed the scenery outside the Sedan's window. Her father, Mr. Richards—an undercover Biologist, would be dropping her off on the front steps of Greenfields High. The school was your average high school, clean enough to live in yet had that certain edge about it. She noticed a statue of a man in a suit in the middle of the campus.

"Goodluck See." He said, waving her off with a small smile. She exited the car and walked towards the main doors and headed off to the main office. Sera's insights of normal eighteen year old girls were taken from fashion magazines she was provided. The clothes there didn't seem too bad, so she chose a normal white sweater and a comfortable pair of jeans and uggs. Since it was winter, she looked pretty normal. Her light brown hair was worn down and left in curls. She hoped she didn't stand out too much.

Her day started with English. The English teacher read the small green paper given to her at the administrations office. "Okay Ms. Richards, please take a seat." She said. Sera swore she had an accent. She scanned the room for a place to sit down. The only spot available was a spot in front. Darn. Why were those always the vacant ones?

She took her seat.
