Dragon's Dogma, at last. I'm playing a fat, muscular fighter type, and my main pawn is a redheaded amazon.
Fat, muscular seems like a contradiction. Is he also Scotch-Korean?

Your example is terrible.

And I don't see how that's a contradiction. Surely you've seen someone who's muscular without being that ripped, lean type.

Paul Wight would be a decent example at the moment, I think.

Well yeah, but then I don't get to use the terrible example and make you groan. D:

See, it's planned.

I just experienced something epic in Dragon's Dogma.

I attacked a large monster ( I think the gorilla-like thing Sabby talked about earlier - one of my pawns mentioned something about it being a threat to women ) and climbed onto its back. Before we'd done any serious damage to it, it fell off the edge of where I was, taking me with it. We fell quite far, and it died instantly, while I survived. That was some serious awesome!

What's a guy gotta' do to get fifty bucks for Dragon's Dogma? Start a fake Tsunami Relief fund? D: This sounds kind of like the Monster Hunter I never got to play.

To quote Angry Joe, Monster Hunter + Skyrim + Devil May Cry + Dark Souls = Dragons Dogma

Well we do need a monster hunter game thats actually on a decent console. The Wii couldnt even handle running MH3

A new franchise would be easy to start up too. You just make it an RPG set in prehistoric/fantasy times as a person looking to protect their village and make it a transition from protecting their village to wanting to protect everyone. Presto, motivation for a monster hunting guild and potentially new franchise

Well here it is folks. The downfall of the MMORPG, cloud, streaming, digital download, steam, Diablo 3, and just about everything that needs internet in general. It'll all be gone by 2014.

It's the apocalypse. :\

I'm glad now I'm a gaming Luddite.

The loss of online gaming doesn't concern me, but everyone should be worried about this for so many reasons :/

I've lost faith in Bethesda's ability to tell a compelling story. That expansion better come with a lot of fun content gameplay-wise for me to get it.

Sabby

Hey, you get to be that old guy from Underworld 2! What's not to like?

Inkidu

GTA IV still. Once you get your driving legs back it's just a good as ever.

I tried getting back into it simply for the mods, but the aiming is surprisingly hard to get right with a first person mod. The bullet time worked, but the game is a cover based shooter, so it just wasn't designed to be played like Fear.

So, Dragon's Dogma isn't all daisies and butterflies. Pawn AI could've used an improvement, like a simple "IGNORE EVERYTHING AND FOLLOW ME" order. Would've saved me some pain a few times. A lot of pain. Because it has the worst checkpoint system I've ever seen. You died? Then you can restart in the spot where you last autosaved, which was probably 15 minutes ago. You didn't die, but still want to reload? YOU HAVE TO GO BACK TO AN INN, WHICH WAS AN HOUR AGO. Seriously, what?

Escort missions are a pain, too. I didn't run into any big monsters, but even harpies and bandits were a pain, when they all suddenly decided to gang up on the girl I was escorting.

It went better the next time, though. And the game is sort of redeemed by moments like when you've been on the road all day, night falls, and you come up on an encampment but can't tell if it's friendly or hostile, so you sneak up slowly and ... to your eternal relief it's a camp where you can stock up on badly needed supplies and rest.

And the best part of it all is that one plot character, Mercedes. She has a French accent. That is all.

Story Tale

You and your accents. :P

I switched from Game of Thrones to Fable 3.

Yeah, try playing a a game without checkpoints and you'll realize just how freaking much you miss them. Yesterday I was doing a GTA IV mission and three times something weird happened to me when I was basically going to a place to turn the mission in for completion.

Got hit crossing the street to the place and died (I was weak from a shootout and it was a restaurant).
Took a sliding turn into a hotdog cart... it exploded taking me with it. I didn't eve know that happened and I've taken out a lot of hotdog carts.
Got caught in the crossfire of a police shootout with some schmuck.

Son of a bitch!

French or GTFO! ::)
It isn't even that good a French accent. That's right, I got Dragon's Dogma.

I goofed around with it, made a dark-skinned, red-haired, green-eyed Amazon. My Pawn familiar was a short elf girl. I'm thinking of restarting again.

I did not realize you had to hold the grab button to climb larger monsters. So it was stab stab fall. It's pretty cool though.

Don't you ever insult the knight-lady with the French accent.
