Each of the ideas listed below are fairly simple, and have a great deal of room to be ironed out with a potential partner. I've tried to label them in terms of genre.

1. Auctioned (Fantasy)

Your character was one of several handmaidens accompanying the princess as she made her way overseas to meet her future husband. Everything was going according to plan, until several pirate ships came upon them. Their cargo was captured, and each of the women was brought to an auction house overseas to be sold. The royals would fetch a high price, but your character has no royal blood. She fears she will be sold to a barracks, to be shared with a number of cruel men. While the girls are being inspected, she catches the eye of a mage from the nearby academy. As they converse, he reveals that he is looking for a status symbol to cement his place with the more wealthy students at the school. She would still be a slave, but it would be a much better life than being shared by soldiers. Unfortunately, several of the men who run the local barracks have their eyes on her as well, so she will have to convince the aspiring mage to bid everything he has on the young woman.

2. The Siren (Fantasy)

For as long as she could remember, she was different. It started off simple, where she could simply inspire others to confess by looking them in the eye. Over time, her power grew. Before long, she was utterly irresistible to men. Her slightest wish would be her command, and while women wouldn't feel the attraction that men did, they would still feel compelled to obey, or to believe her words were the truth. Given such power, it wasn't hard to forge the perfect life. She convinced the royal family she was their long lost daughter, and thus became a princess. When her 'parents' perished, she became queen. Only a month or so into her reign, her guards capture a thief who has bypassed several layers of security in order to get to the royal vault. It was only bad luck that her men stumbled upon him and managed to capture him before he could escape. The queen orders her men to bring the thief before her, so she can use her power to figure out how he got so close, but when she is face to face with the man, she finds that she is unable to draw the truth from him. He feels no supernatural attraction to her or need to obey, but she finds that the opposite is true. She is irresistibly drawn to him, incapable of defying his commands. The thief has never had this kind of power over anyone before, and has no idea why he has it now, but he isn't about to throw such a gift away. It seems to him that this kingdom needs a king, and that king will need a loyal bride who will submit to him however he desires.

3. The Curse of Capture (Fantasy)

Your character is a skilled adventurer, carefully trained with a sword and bow. For months now, she has been seeking a long lost dagger, said to be worth a king's ransom. When she finds it, the inscription of the tomb warns of a horrible curse that will afflict anyone who disturbs the blade, but she has seen those warnings on a dozen tombs before. Why should she believe this one? Unfortunately, the curse of capture is all too real. Anyone who disturbs it is cursed forever to face peril. Whenever danger is close, she will suffer a stroke of terrible luck. It could be an unlucky fall, failure to notice a trap, or simple overconfidence, but she will find herself defeated over and over again. Rather than kill her, her assailant will have the uncontrollable urge to bind her, to keep her captive, and perhaps find some way to profit from her. The curse will do nothing to stop her from escaping her captivity, but her escape only means that she will again find herself in peril, sooner or later.
