Parlay of the Beasts(DnD 3.5 seeker thread)

I'm going to see if I go insane or partially insane with hosting two small group games. I do see a lot of demand for DMs in this field, and I just do love to be helpful. Already do have a game plot in mind that I have not used so far, so this should be even more awesome.

Rules:
- Only three players, my tolerance for players is capped at three for now.
- Level 5
- 5d6 reroll lowest two.
- 20000 starting gold.
-One special character specific magical item. Not something overpowered, but something that fleshes out who you are in a personal manner.
- Good align characters only.
- The biggest rules for this game is that you have to be non-human. You can still be elf or half elf or half nymph, catfolk, which ever. Just not plain human. Nothing too weird either, like a centaur. This is still a naughty DnD 3.5, and most people would have a hard time getting down with a centaur or a drider.

A good mix of male and female characters is always welcome. Gotta have variety.

I had a funny idea, feyblood being mystical and sometimes innocent the idea that his feyblood is actually unicorn I found helarious.

Thats ok how about an Aesimar they are nice, I'll be one level lower due to the race adjustment but they are usually attractive. Classes I'm thinking something good in a small group a Bard 2/Rogue 2 the ultimate scoundrel combo has access to some magic, optimized bard abilities with music since they are rank based and can always raise them and not against a sly dagger in the back if needed with strong social skills. Plus bards can often get into places a rogue cannot like rich folks homes by invitation.

Sounds good. I would be prudent to explain that most of this game would be taking place in less then civilized locations. SO having the ability to woo some noble person won't exactly be that useful.

I never said just noble persons last time I looked barbarians love bards to, I'll just go more - earthy. Might change the class combo accordingly though.

How about a Bard 1/Warblade 4 Shifter? Or Silverbrow Human (Humans with Dragon Ancestry) if they are allowed.

No warblades, I do not enjoy the tome of battle book what so ever. Also negative on the silly human variants, they just seem to be cheap to me.

Barely heard of them, nor have had the privileged to be in a game with one. I don't feel like needing to figure out what that class does in any deep sense, especially when I am DMing. So negative on that as well.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean be 5d6 reroll the lowest two is that for each stat?  Also I love the druid class and am torn between catfolk or Raptorian do you have anything against the raptorians?

Yeah that is for each stat. 5d6 drop lowest two, which just means that you use the three highest numbers that roll. You still can only get a 18 max from this, which is just fine.

Having a female Catfolk druid would just be perfect as well. Have no qualms about that. If you make that, then you are in for sure.

I have no idea what a high elf wildshape is, nor master of many forms. Sounds iffy as well, so no on those as well. It just sounds like you are throwing random things together and wondering what will stick.

Elven ranger is always a staple party member. Going range of duel wielding though? Always good idea for that.

Okay well I'm go female Catfolk druid then.  ^_^  Also I wanted to ask about a feat I really like called Celestial Companion may I take that?  If you want the rules on it I can paste them here.  The reason I ask is cause I'm starting to build her now.  I've been working on the picture of her all through my college class today. ^_^  Hopefully I'll have her pic up by tomorrow.

Elven ranger is always a staple party member. Going range of duel wielding though? Always good idea for that.

I tend to lean towards ranged as most of the campaigns I have him in he is paired with a tank. Actually my current Elf Ranger is sitting at Level fourteen but I will create a new one as my group was looking to start fresh and tie the stories together. Perfect way to flesh out a character is here. Let me know when you want those stats up. Might not be able to get them up til Sunday night as I am going out of town for early Thanksgiving.

May I place some interest in this?
I'd been thinking about asking if the Shapeshift variant druid from PHB2 would have been allowed (removes animal companion, turns Wild Shape class feature into flat bonuses to stats rather than actually becoming a different animal should anyone not be familiar with this alternate class feature), possibly taking the Changeling from Eberron/MM3 as the race.

Though with the Druid already taken, I think I'll instead ask about the Warlock class from Complete Arcane. Or maybe a Psion since the rules for them are more easily accessible via the SRD?

Eh, animal companions are a huge hassle. You may want to look at the druid alternatives that Ershin was talking about. Having to deal with animals in a naughty game just doesn't flesh out too well, but if you just have to have one, that feat works.

Getting down to the naughty is hard to do with a howler monkey in the room.

I've been in a game with changlings, and I didn't like how it ended, so no on those. Warlock is more then good though. Duskblade is always a good class too, nice and beefy.

Celestial wildshape sounds interesting enough. It is just amusing since you are already a catfolk kitty, so you are already technically a 'animal'. Just going to be fun watching a kitty turn into something entirely different.

*Chuckle*  Yeah I know.  I'm in another campanion as a druid raptorian which is basically bird people and I have that feat.... Though that campanion also has a catfolk and the pussy jokes just don't stop... *shakes head and sighs*

Hey nikki, are you able to take anymore players. I might have a few good ideas depending on what books you allow. Im a fan of psionics but i know that is always a bit iffy to most people. Just let me know... Push comes to shove I always have The fighter.. hard Armor, big weapon, a a big appitite for the finer pleasures in life. Ill give a more fleshed out idea once i know weather or not I'm in.

Well so far the only definite player I have so far is the kitty druid. Could always use a nice beefy, handsome person in the party. Nothing wrong with you going catfolk as well, just find a race that is still sexy to be around with.

Well, i did notice alot of people like Werewolves.. and While I dont want to be one of those.. Im sure a wolfen (http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Beastfolk,_Wolfen_(3.5e_Race)  could be good. If not there are plenty of other races I can choose from.
