Very cool Elfguy.  The only problem is your Known Universe.  When I said that, I meant is your race/gal/etc from like a game or movie or something but it's all good otherwise.  And that's not a big issue anyway lol.  Good looking profile and I would hate to run across her anytime soon lol.

I have one rule I want followed at all times, and I don't care the argument to the contrary because I won't change my mind.  Absolutely NO teleportation will be allowed in this RP.  I don't care how you try to disguise it, what you call it, I won't allow it because I feel it takes away from a game like this and also it opens up too many holes in ship defenses if applied to weaponry in some way so I always put my foot down hard on this tech.  Stargates or anything like that I'll go for, but using teleporation in any shape or form I won't.  Transporters, two pads linked together, that's ok as well, communicators that work the same way, go for it.  Able to shift an object or person at will through the use of a single machine, I don't think so.

Crossover mashup sci-fi freeform RP? Consider me tentatively interested, likely with a human+treecat from David Weber's Honorverse novels. See who else volunteers first before I write up a full profile.

That was my first thought: Treecat.

Good luck with that.  :D

Oh I noticed that but thankfully Honor's specially tailored shoulder pads protect her from said claws lol.  I'm more observant usually when it comes to that kind of thing lol.  "Oh look, a little cat with claws long enough to tear your face off."  Lol.

And it happens a few times in the series too.    ;D

Vergil1989

It does?  Damn, that would hurt lol.  I'll have to start reading the book again to find out just how bad lol.  I was on Chapter 5 the first time I started reading the series and finally stopped the same day, a little over probably three hours of computer text.  It's good but a little confusing.

First time that jumps to mind is in The Honor of the Queen during the attack on the head of the Grayson Government (who's title eludes me at the moment).   Honor and Nimitz more or less halt a well executed assassination attempted by themselves.  The second one would be In Enemy Hands when Honor turns Nimitz loose and he nearly gets his claws on one of the heads of the Havonite Government.

Lol, it's ok and hey, I thought you had forgotten about this place Glyphstone.  Good to see you're still interested at least lol.  I need help coming up with a good Citadel or Capital like station for our RP if we manage to get that far, so ideas/pics/videos are all welcome.  Also, anything to make this thing better in general is more than welcome.

I forgot to ask, Glyph.  Were you interested in the treecat or the human (or both?)

I played a treecat in a very aborted BESM game.  I think I scared the GM with the mental powers + claws combo.

TheGlyphstone

I was planning on both - the human with a treecat companion. Since I doubt anyone else will have the capability of communicating with the furry little bugger, I'd only really have to RP one character, plus a bit of 'wacky treecat antics' from time to time.

Vergil1989

That sounds good to me my friend.  Just be sure to give the combo the respect and dues it deserves is all I ask if using a known concept.

That reminds me, I think I'm going to go back and re-read the Honorverse books...I haven't read the early ones in a while - maybe I won't skip Field of Dishonor this time (IMO, the worst of the series...though that's like saying the cookie with the least chocolate chips is the worst of the batch).

You should also try the Empire of Man series that he co-wrote with John Ringo.  It's worth the time (and a fun ride to boot).

TheGlyphstone

Is that the March series? (March Upcountry, March to the Sea, March to the Stars, We Few?) Those are indeed quite good. Also fond of his Dahak trilogy and some of the stuff he did with the Bolo IP.

Yes.

Vergil1989

Huh, sounds like a fun read.  I have an early appointment tomorrow, so I'm gonna head off and play some Mass Effect 2 before I take it back after said appointment and before I head to bed tonight.  I'll try to get this updated as needed, but I do need at least two more PCs before we can start though I'd prefer a total of eight altogether.  Anyway, adios!

IMPORTANT UPDATE as of October 6th 2016 in A/A page

TheGlyphstone

Since I think everyone is a male character so far, we should totally make this a comedic 'Bro's and their Fancy Guns Cruise The Universe" game. :D

Kevben Battleheart

Name; Elauenien

Gender; Male

Age; 322

Race; Eldar

Home Planet; Hanbal

Known universe; Warhammer 40k

Appearance;

Position; Striking Scorpion (Assassin)

Tech Level;  (Not sure I'll keep this one in here.)

Racial Traits/evolutionary path/customs/traditions etc; Superficially, the Eldar appear very similar to humans, though they are generally taller and slimmer, with sharp features and pointed ears. They are long-lived by human standards, and most will live more than a thousand years unless they die from accident or disease. Eldar also have much faster metabolic rates than humans, and their cardiac and neurological systems are more advanced. These traits manifest in their vastly heightened reactions and agility compared to humans. To them humans seem to move in slow motion with a certain degree of awkwardness, while to humans the Eldar can move with distracting grace and can be blindingly fast in combat. As a race they have a high level of psychic ability, which serves as the foundation of their technology. Eldar are mentally far superior to humans, and feel all emotions much more strongly, requiring the Eldar to exercise constant restraint to avoid mental break down. The Eldar seem to reproduce in stages, with new genetic material being added by the father to the developing embryo over an extended period. This process is ill-understood, but Eldar autopsies are suggestive of it.

Preferences; Straight

History;  (You get the idea.)

Before I get started on the history, I just want to see if everything is ok so far.
The Saga of Battleheart (O/O's)The Vault of Victory  ♥
The World of Adalern (currently closed to critiquing)

Thought for the week: Harden your soul against decadence, but do not despise it for the soft appearance of the decadent may be deceiving.

Nyarly

I'm interested in this, but still I'm not sure if I will join. I already have a concept in mind though.

elfguy

Well a few more people and this could hopefully happen!
----

Nyarly

I finally decided to join and made a character:

Name: Sarya
Gender: Female
Age: 1 year and a few months (19 in human years)
Race: Numan
Home Planet: Motavia (Algol system)
Known universe: Phantasy Star
Appearance: Sarya is a rather short and slender girl, whose appearence betrays her strenght. She has green eyes and bright red red, that is tied into two pigtails, reaching down to her waist. Her ears are a bit longer than that of a human and have black tips and her breasts are very small.
She is dressed in her red hunter uniform (reference picture below) and on her right ear are three silver earrings.
Position:  Security
Tech Level:  (I'm not sure about that)
Racial Traits/evolutionary path/customs/traditions etc: Numans are very similiar to humans and don't have many distinguishing traits. However, a very visible one are their long, pointy ears. The lenght varies from numan to numan and some have even black colored tips. Their unique life span is another interesting thing: Numans age very quickly initially, becoming an adult just in one year, but when they are fully grown up, their aging slows down drastically, resulting in life spans similiar to that of a human.
Preferences:  Bisexual
History:  After the last defeat of Dark Force by the hands of Chaz Ashley, the Algol system went into an age of prosperity. Many scientific advances were made and the Nei project, which combines the genes of palmans (humans) with those of biomonsters, resulting in the creation of creatures called "Numan", was rediscovered. A lot of numans, who even were able to reproduce amongst themselves, were created, resulting in a big population that covered the whole Algol system. But still there were less of them than palmans and they often had to endure discrimination. While it became better over time, it was still a problem.

Sarya grew up in the city of Aiedo on the desert planet Motavia. Like many numans, she had to endure the racism of the palmans, but because some of her friends were palman themself, she never held a big grudge against the palmans as a whole.

She was an energetic and athletic girl since she was a child and got into many fights, so nobody was surprised when she joined the Hunters' Guild, a mercenary-like organisation, which specialized in carrying out mission that involves combating biomonsters. However, work was sparse in this peaceful times and there were only few biomonsters left. So she considered herself lucky, when the Federation of Free People called for representatives of every race and a spaceship was to be sent to Zeta Prime. While she didn't care for the meeting, Motavia was short on security personnel for travels like this and requested volunteers, who were trained in battle.

Curious, what other planets and systems were like and with a faint thirst for adventure, Sarya signed in and joined the security team.

This picture is NOT the character. It is only a reference for her uniform:

Hm... I had to make up quite a lot universe-wise for this character...
