Muse

Huzzah for the mead!

*Enjoys the pictures of the ladies.*

It seems I picked the right game in which to play a gentleman...  Not that he's too genteel.  :)

I certainly wouldn't kick Agatha or Lady London out of a bath of honey rum.

Dhi, also - I'm setting belonging prices for real estate in Gomorra as follows:

Belongings 3 - A modest shop.

Belongings 4 - A large shop, or a modest saloon, hotel, or casino.

Belongings 5 - A high end hotel, saloon, or casino.

In general, accommodations will be based on the 'dinero' background.   These are bundled into the background and don't require an additional purchase.  If a character with a high dinero background is arriving in Gomorra, we'll assume they have enough saved to purchase an appropriate home.

Dinero - 0  Buy a tent, pardner.  Welcome to Sodom.

Dinero - 1  A rented room, either from a larger home or a hotel/saloon.

Dinero - 2  A rented room, or a townhome shared with a roommate.  (who must also possess dinero 2.)

Dinero - 3 A private, small home.  Enough to charge someone with dinero 1 rent.

Dinero - 4 A large home, enough to charge two people with Dinero 2 rent.

Dinero - 5   A very large, two story home.   Note that the Whateley home is a full Belongings 5 background.  (Mansion.)

Oh, cool! I guess I'll move a point around and raise Dinero to 3 for a private residence.

If a Dinero 3 house is large enough to sublet, is a Belongin's 4 business large enough to support an employee?

That would be good to know.

Hmm Christina Hendricks would be a good choice for Agatha too.

Yes - more than one, actually.  Not as necessary for a shoppe as it is for an entertainment venue.

If you own a venue of some kind, and would like to see it turned into a thread, please include pics if possible and a description, at least of the public areas.

A quick request - and I'll be adding it on the character sheet - along with living arrangements I'm going to ask people to note how long they've been in Gomorra.

I'm thinking Annabel has only been there for a month or two at the start of the RP, if that's alright. (: Though I'm open to it being longer or shorter really, Ciosa.

I don't yet know anything about magic, so is it possible for a character to learn magic during the course of the game? Say my character starts out as mundane but devoutly Catholic, could character development/points lead to her becoming something more?

Or is it one of those things where you either are magic from the get-go or you aren't?

Apologies if the answer is some kind of spoiler.

AndyZ

It's all good, and it's all in fun.  Now get in the pit and try to love someone.

There's an edge in the game - Mysterious Destiny - which lets you purchase the right to develop an arcane background later.  (It's 2 points - an Arcane Backgruond is 3)  You'll still have to develop the requisite skills, but it'll set you on the path to something more.

Are brothels legal in Gomorrah?

Yes.

Dhi

That's funny! I was going to pick up Mysterious Destiny anyway, sight unseen, thus throwing myself at the mercy of the GMs.

I need to go and pick up my partner in a little bit here, but by tonight I should have a finished sheet ready to send.

Pumpkin Seeds

Wow, so many pictures.  I feel bad.  Normally I try to stir clear of famed actors and actresses, but this one picture has been the guiding image throughout the process.

I like the look in her eyes and the dirt on her features.  Plus a Chinese girl with freckles is too cute for this setting.

You will get no complaints from me Pumpkin Seeds. ;)

I could see her going in and out of the stores staring at the strange things to her.  Probably always coming across as dirty and in dingy clothing.  Gotta watch them ferners.  :P

ok, quick player vote - currently more interested in knowing more about the factions, about some important npcs, or more background info on Gomorra/the Great Maze proper?

Although I would personally like to know more about NPC's and Factions, I think you should probably get all the back ground on Gomorra and the Great Maze out first (:

Also, I'm sure she'll be adorable, Pumpkin!

Phaia

since we are gonna more be set in the town proper with polictics, in fighting, sneaky underhanded dealing and i am sure someone trying to run the lady shop owners out of town
i think the npcs and faction would best be done first then the maze later

#123
1. Factions
2. NPC's
3. Town
4. Maze.

Mostly because my background and flaws will likely be linked to factions and NPC's and I need that info for character gen.

Factions is now complete, and I'll be working on NPCs off an on.  There's a little bit of information available about the Maze itself, as well.  Most of the most prominent NPC characters are mention in the Factions descriptions.
