don't know about HBO these days but back in the old days (say back when I was in high school, Cinemax played softcore porn after midnight.. discovered that on a 'free weekend' when I was taping Heavy Metal for a friend (we made some coin off of copying that tape. :D )

Of course I'm looking forward to Torchwood on Starz so I just added that channel to my lineup (for 15 bucks more a month! durn it!)
Ha! They don't even wait that long anymore Skinexmax shows it like at 10pm now. I swear, I got one of those free promo things too. I ended up DVRing the A-Team movie, and The Final Destination (that one I didn't get to see because a storm knocked out our satellite service). Oh, I also got Public Enemies too.
If you're searching the lines for a point, well you've probably missed it; there was never anything there in the first place.

The one thing I'll say about Game of Thrones was that in addition to there being lots of tits, there was also male nudity.  I actually approve of this in an adult, post watershed TV show.  GoT also has the best role I've ever seen for a dwarf, Peter Dinklage gets all the best lines, steals every scene and his character even gets laid by a very hot girl, without the man having to prance around naked like a freakshow exhibit.

I think there are far too many tits on TV but partly because there's no corresponding male nudity.  I don't see why there should be this absolute taboo about male genitalia in mainstream, adult targeted entertainment.  If men didn't only see junk when watching porn, they might just possibly have a more realistic idea of what 'average' constitutes.

Advertisers stick near naked women on EVERYTHING.  Just this evening I saw an advert for mouthwash that featured a butt naked teen prancing in a field for no reason whatsoever.  If male actors had to strip down  as often as female ones, there'd be far fewer creaky old gits cast opposite nubile starlets nearly young enough to be their granddaughters.

Ok, I'm veering off topic here.  I'll shut up now.   :-)

Personally, I don't get the big hoopla about Game of Thrones. My friend has been going gaga over it recently and forced me to watch the first episode with her. To say the least, I was fairly uncomfortable, watching that episode... Not because of the sex, or the amount of it, but because of how awkward it was. It was awkward in the way it was played out, in the way it was put in-between various scenes. Being from Europe, I really could care less about nudity... Honestly, I like attractive, nude bodies, but all that awkward sex just turned me way off... That and I'm not a big fan of gore, to be perfectly honest -.-

I don't know, I just borrowed the whole first season of True Blood from a friend, just for the sake of quenching my curiousity, so we'll see how that goes over with me. However, I don't care what anyone says, I'm not touching the Game of Thrones again. While I like fantasy, I was promised it would be more like the Lord of the Rings kind of a fantasy... I was sorely disappointed :/

Getting back on topic with sex on TV. Sometimes, I think sex is good on TV, as long as it's relevant and tastefully filmed. Good god, I can't even watch some of the porn videos because of the way it's filmed in some cases >.< However, I've only watched HBO when I still lived in Poland, which was a long time ago, so I may either not remember, or it's because I simply did not watch a lot of TV in general, but I got the impression HBO was much more innocent in those years, playing movies like this Snow White live-action flick I still have fond memories of up until this day.

Yeah, whoever said GoT was anything like LotR was lying through their teeth. LotR was an epic adventure saga, GoT is more like a medieval political thriller.
