This would be a game idea that focuses on a fictional group of Pin Up girls.
The setting would be NYC in the early 1950s.
Basically these would be young women who have all gotten into nude modeling/pin up photography for their own reasons.
Between photographers who try to push their limits into the realm of the illegal, Feds who are always cracking down on pornography, mobsters who want their cut of the pie, jealous (ex-)boyfriends, these women would navigate a veritable minefield of drama each and every day.

The way I would structure this game, I would prefer to focus on three women, all of which are room mates.
I am currently leaning towards not assuming one of those roles myself but instead NPCing all of the people in their life, many of whom are less than kind and/or have dishonorable intentions.

I LOOOOVE Pin-up girls and worship the awesomeness that is Bettie Page. I'll totally steal one of the pin-up girl roles. <3

Great! :)

If I can get two more players, then I might be able to start this game.
I would focus on playing the other roles.
Depending on how many NPCs we need, I might recruit a few more players for those (and perhaps turn some of the NPCs into PCs).

I definitely think a group of 5-6 players would be nice. It just seems like a good number. I mean, it was the number of Jackson's in the Jackson 5, right? :] Can't argue with that logic lol.

But, yeah I think we'll need a few male characters tossed in for the drama and romantic appeal.

Let me know once we get a character template up. Once people see that and profiles  up, they see it is actually moving and getting into gear so they jump on it.

Edited the opening post to include the CS template.
Send your character concepts to me by PM, please.

" I'm not a bitch, I'm a snob. There is a difference. "
Name: Eileen Alkaev
Date of birth: August 3rd of 1927
Background:  Eileen is originally of Russian nationality. Her story is secret, but dramatic in a lot of senses. Though now an American citizen and quite decently well off, she grew up under financial strain in Russia. Her father's financial affairs with a restaurant they had owned were failing drastically.  Her father originally once so deep in the hole to the Russian Mafia's loan sharks. Borrowing money to keep their restaurant / home as they lived upstairs. Before long he had gotten deeper in the hole with them as well. Eventually the sharks with their leader had come to the restaurant to settle their business.  At this same time Eileen had just come home from school.

She was a cold, distant girl even then. Intelligent and with a sharp tongue whenever she so rarely spoke. However, she was breathtakingly beautiful. Upon her entry, the older men knew from her age of 14 she'd only blossom more. An agreement was made as there were no possible way to pay off the debt her father had racked up - they'd promise her to marry the leader's eldest son and she'd be trained by her mother to be a good wife.

Eileen couldn't deny the deal her father already made, as time went on she met the son. A man named Andrei, only four years older than her. A senior in high school, a rich boy with no worries. His slicked back blonde hair and cocky, arrogant expressions were exactly who he was. Already knowing what all he could get away with thanks to his father's helpful examples. He wasn't too excited about the idea of marriage at this age. Still, Eileen was a nice trophy piece to keep police and others too busy to track what they had been doing much like his own mother.

Eileen grew older, two years of the bi-weekly dinners with the boy and his family had become second nature. She was numb to it now, it was natural. She was semi-comfortable in their presence or not quite threatened, in truth never seeming afraid to die. Her days consisting of art classes, making vases at a local spin-class her friend from school attended regularly and mother taught. - Eventually walking home one day she'd come across a now injured American soldier passing through asking her for directions and a good place to eat. Immediately suggesting her home restaurant, knowing her parents needed as much income as possible on top of the fact it did have the food she grew up on.

Little did she know after talking with him, a connection was established. A light one, the soldier eventually while the girl was away mentioned to her father he needed a place to stay and to point him to the nearest Inn. Instead, they offered the room that was Eileen's older brother who was away for a good 8 months helping their grandparents with farm-work and heavy lifting.  ---- Needless to say she and the soldier had a crush to say the least. Weeks of fun and playfulness filled their days, chatting at coffee shops and getting cocoa. Painting and stories , it was enough to make her happy.

Eventually, the soldier left without saying a word. He was gone for a long time, eventually Eileen was 22.  A total six years later, married and back to the way she was if not icier. Sharp and judgmental eyes, that coy charm and sarcastic flair.  Walking down the cobblestone streets of their small town, planning to visit that same crafts store that held the classes she attended as a girl. Dropping off food to a woman who was nearly a relative after all these years, she bumped into the soldier again several feet out of the store.  - They reconnected, in awe of each other briefly. Though it seemed the soldier came purposely, they went out for coffee and more. He stayed this time at an inn by the train station which she visited frequently. However she knew there was no possible way he could stay long, he even informed her though not giving a date.

Their relationship quickly became sexual, continuing right where it left off. However one night in Fall, she came and found him dead upon entry. Knowing exactly who was to blame, a jealous Andrei's minion.  She knew exactly what may be in store for her if she went home, after she pulled a slightly dampened set of train tickets from his pocket. Calling her parents and informing them, her father assuring her. She had a plan though she'd never find out what it is. She packed what clothes she had left behind as well as jewelry in his suitcase and took the train in a hurry to a far away Russian town she'd work at in an antique store before finally having enough money to fly to America and set up a working place there.

The cheapest apartment she could find and working as a waitress for around 5 months before attending an art class for entertainment purposes. She was approached with the job of working at the front desk of an art gallery as a secretary doing paper-work and more. From there she started doing pin-ups after a local photographer spotted her whilst seeing if he should rent out the gallery for a show. Now she is on the look out for a new apartment with this upper-scale pay!
