I'll get back to you on the languages. Obviously trade and Maltian will be big. Yes, Kelemvor works as a god, and greatsword can be substituted for a bastard sword. Undead are not unheard of, usually not a problem in the city, but anyone travelling into the wilderness knows to keep an eye out for them.

Obviously, yeah. I just have a couple more languages to slot in, and I reckoned I'd put in some more common ones that he would have learned in his travels to better communicate with people.

And awesome, thanks :D

Men in general judge more by the sense of sight than by that of touch, because everyone can see but few can test by feeling. Everyone sees what you seem to be, few know what you really are; and those few do not dare take a stand against the general opinion. Therefore it is unnecessary to have all the qualities I have enumerated, but it is very necessary to appear to have them. And I shall dare to say this also, that to have them and always observe them is injurious, and that to appear to have them is useful; to appear merciful, faithful, humane, religious, upright, and be so, but with a mind so framed that should you require not to be so, you may be able and know how to change to the opposite.

Hmmm...my level 1 and 3 feats. Should I go with Power Attack and Furious Focus (first power attack each round is made without penalty) or weapon focus and Weapon versatility (as a swift action, can change damage type of weapon to piercing, slashing or bludgeoning)? Decisions...any thoughts? I need second opinions xD

Focus and versitility works out nicely for undead as a good deal are resistant to Slashing

Minor house rules: instead of gold, silver copper, I use silver, bronze, copper, just an aethetics thing to make gold more significant. This doesn't actually effect the amount of money you have.

On this one Lisztes does that mean it goes now Platinum pieces, Silver pieces, Bronze pieces, Copper pieces? Or is it just added in Bronze so now Silver = gold gold = platinum and platinum = x10

That's what I was thinking. But Power Attack and Furious Focus helps with Damage overall...

Sex: Male
Age: 17

Race: Catfolk
Class: Unchained rogue 2/Sorcerer 1
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Level: 3
EXP:

Basic Appearance: See Image

Personality: d'Artagnan is usually quite cynical and apathetic to the world around him. Having lived a life in the shadows he knows first hand what the world holds for the weak and strong alike. Having an odd sense of fun he lives his life for entertainment. Wanting to one day fight in a legendary battle and come out on top the young spell thief enjoys the thrill of a good heist. Those that cross him should expect a prank or three sent their way. A budding alchemist the feline male tends to find the myths of the area around him something to heed and deals in caution rather than sloth. When bored expect this catfolk to test his hand at lifting things and just generally stealing shiny trinkets or things that he finds interesting. Not shy about his own physique in his times of relaxation he wears very little enjoying the unhindered feeling of sun on his fur. In the bar d'Artagnan is a boisterous fellow apt to spin tales that are more fiction than truth but vastly entertaining to the other drunken patrons. His two favorite topics are shiny and expensive objects of note and alchemic formulas. The man is mysterious and keeps his past close to his chest but at times its obvious that he has lost someone dear to him.

Basic Background

Childhood of the Kitten

From the time d'Artagnan was born his life was that of thievery and shadows. His mother Françoise was and still is an accomplished thief within their town of Zariya. Tasked with being the oldest of his many younger brothers they took up thievery as well. He would be the watch for them while the younger catfolk grabbed fruit and bread for dinner that night. The last and youngest of the group of brothers a Kobold was the escape making sure they had a way to get out when the shite hit the fan.
There were times when they were caught though and it was through d'Artagnan's quick thinking and silvered tongue that they were released. It was after a few captures that  Françoise their mother finally inducted them into the guild proper for some more formal training. A rather distant woman it was through  d'Artagnan's own word that they agreed to doing such things as he took care of them more than their wayward mother ever could.

Continuing through life in the shadows having never really known much else he took to the Rapier quite well and fancied himself a duelist when he could get away with it. He even learned tracking and set himself down the road of being a Incorporeal. The ones who gained such a prestigious rank had to cut all ties with their family to make sure that there would be nothing to stop them from the jobs that needed done. They were Scions of the Den and as the name suggested believed to be a myth. Imparting the responsibility of looking after his younger brothers to the oldest Ludovic. Disappearing from their lives for many years after while training to become Incorporeal. It was at this time that he took up the name d'Athos and bloodied his blade in the back of the world.

Adolescence of the Assassin

d'Athos was a name that grew to be quite the stir in the political realm. A gentleman catfolk well versed in the world of debate and politics. In his free time he would head to the elite of the city he had been sent to to test his mettle against theirs. Occasionally though one of the people that d'Athos would debate with just so happened to disappear afterwards. People suspected the adolescent of foul play but he was seen other places than the last that the political figure was. So the investigations grew cold and eventually disappeared all together. In privacy there was  d'Artagnan and Korva a woman whom he was partnered with. Another Incorporeal the woman had this lovely black panther figurine whom she cared for deeply and through no small feat helped d'Artagnan delve into a bloodline he didn't know he had. In public there was only d'Athos. The two Incorporeal had made a single persona that they would take turns with. Korva d'Athos would take to the debates while d'Artagnan d'Athos would take stock of there targets schedule and patterns. Eventually usually through a game of chance one would choose to take out the target while the other made good with their public persona in someplace far away.

The cleanup was usually Rather easy as Korva's panther grew quite hungry and always enjoyed taking the hunt back to the ethereal realm with it. There was only one guardsman captain that ever caught onto the ruse. Sir Anton Chigurh caught onto their ruse and hunted both Korva and d'Artagnan from place to place eventually meeting them in the Grand city of Khisfire. Inside this city they had made a slip up which lead him to their safe house. Having chased them for years now he felt he needed to take this case on his own and set up a plan to capture the two. Rapier against sword Sir Anton and d'Artagnan fought inside the safe house Korva having suffered wounds from the initial surprise and unconscious. While the two men fought it seemed that Sir Anton might succeed disarming the Catfolk he was poised to deal the final blow. That was until he was tackled by a panther. Barely hanging on Korva commanded the panther to rip the captain limb from limb only for a rather large explosion of flint and smoke filled the room. The figuring shattered and a hole in her breast from the flintlock that Sir Anton had turned on her made Korva collapse. The distraction though allowed d'Artagnan to slip his rapier between the mans ribs and end him. He did away with the scene and the safe house both going up in a accidental lamp fire two bodies found a man and a woman charred beyond recognition.

Present Day of the Cat-burgler

Returning to the den in Zariya after the loss of his partner d'Artagnan heard of a new land being colonized. Believing this to be a opportunity he gathered what little coin he had and all his belongings chartering a ship out to the new land. A month on sea was rather boring but he bid his time with a few conversations with a rather interesting Kobold gunslinger named Sasska. Having orders to meet up with the contact in Orodeis named Midnight he figured it would make for some entertainment to see if he couldn't make a new life. The land after all was an untapped resource. Who knew what arcane secrets lie in wait beyond its shores.

That's what I was thinking. But Power Attack and Furious Focus helps with Damage overall...

Yes it does but what good is damage overall when you're dealing -5 total damage because you are stuck using a slashing weapon against something resistant to it Besides Weapon focus grants some damage as well.

At most with power attack without just completely dumping all points into strength you're looking at +4 damage which effectively means if we fight a bunch of skeletons you're still -1 damage because you cant change to bludgeoning damage.

No, Weapon Focus just gives +1 to hit. It's Weapon Specialisation that gives a bonus to damage. :D
But with Power Attack, you get +2 damage from the power attack, +3 because you're two handing it. And if you've got 16 STR, that's another +3 (+4 for Two Handing) so suddenly you have +7 damage. That goes down to +2 for DR, though. But maybe you're right; at lower levels, DR like that is a bigger deal, and To Hit is also a bit of a problem. I'll probably go

Level 1: Weapon Focus
Level 3: Weapon Versatility
Level 5: 1 Level of Cleric and Channeling Scourge (allows you to use your Inquisitor Levels as Cleric Levels when channeling to damage undead)
Level 7: Power Attack
Level 9: Furious Focus

Or something like that.

That makes more sense I mean I'm not saying don't go into power attack if you are the type of guy to swing around a massive 2 handed sword power attack and cleave should be your bread and butter. When it comes to undead though you either want to carry multiple weapons like i do or be able to switch your damage type on the fly.

Problem is, with a 20 Point Buy, the enemies are gonna feel a hell of a lot meatier than otherwise. So I'm thinking whether it's worth it to take PA and FF first, and maaaaaybe dip into Fighter at some point to get a Bonus Feat to pick up a bonus feat. I mean, overall, PA and FF would be more useful, and would largely overcome the DR of Skeletons. Yeah, Skeletons would only get a +2 damage from my character, but in exchange for that, I'm giving up +3 damage on everybody else. Hrm...

Name: Lucian Von Nightsbane
Nicknames: “Night-Bane,” “The Steel Saint,” “Dark Angel”
Sex:
Age: 85

Race: Dhampir
Class: Inquisitor (Kinslayer) [Kelemvor]
Alignment: True Neutral

Level: 3
EXP:

Basic Appearance:
Standing at 6'4 and weighing in at around 180 lbs, Lucian is not a man to take lightly. He has trained his entire life to hunt down arguably some of the most dangerous game it is possible to contend with, and he certainly looks the part; broad shouldered and muscular, with a powerful athletic build and not an ounce of fat on him, he is intimidating in and out of his armour. Whilst his pallid grey-blue skin and ashen white hair mark him out as a Dhampir – half undead and half mortal – and certainly make people less inclined to treat him with much respect or consideration, he seems not to care and instead relies on his rather intimidating and powerful presence to do the talking instead. His face, were it not of the typically reviled Dhampiric bloodline, would probably be considered attractive with its strong jaw, high cheekbones and pleasantly symmetrical features, his deep violet eyes peering out with a strong, unquenchable fire that takes many onlookers aback at its sheer ferocity. Ordinarily, Lucian wears a set of custom master-crafted medium armour, a silver-laced breastplate with several of Kelemvors holy symbols carved into the various faces. His travelling cloak is dark and well-worn, and his armour – whilst maintained to the highest standard – obviously bears the scars of many a fierce battle. Several fangs, teeth and bones adorn Lucian's belt, though the buckle remains undecorated. His blade is a large silver-edged greatsword with a black leather grip and several flaring points emitting from the crossguard. Layered across the crossguard and part of the blade is an etched carving of Kelemvor's holy symbol, the scales etched along the crossguard and the skeletal arm running down a portion of the blade itself. If stripped of his armour, Kelemvors symbol can be found tattooed on Lucian's left pectoral, and a pair of broken wings is tattooed on his back.

Personality:
Lucian is, first and foremost, an extremely driven individual. He is unrelenting and uncompromising in his mission, and will brook no argument when it comes to dealing with the undead and other unnatural monsters. When it comes to hunting down and destroying such beasts, he is entirely business and is often accused of being humourless or unintelligent. That is far from the case; he has a sense of humour, of a sort, but it is largely a very stoic, deadpan method of laughter than few learn to appreciate in their brief interactions with him. Whilst he is slow to trust, he is loyal to the extreme and if he deems a companion worthy of it, will be a steadfast companion come what may. However, his mission comes first, and any who seek to hinder him in that pursuit will swiftly find themselves considered his enemy and deserving of little to no mercy. In regards to intimate company, whilst he is not adverse to such distractions - occasionally partaking in them when the biological need becomes too great to ignore - he does not actively seek them out, as they are usually a distraction to his overarching goals. Further, if he finds anybody abusing or neglecting children, he is likely to put them to the sword there and then, regardless of whatever excuses they may have. Despite being largely neutral, he does have a code of ethics and morals, and will stand by them if the situation arises.

Basic Background
Lucian was born, as most Dhampirs are, through tragedy. His father seduced and bedded his mother on a whim, presumably relishing in the power held over a hypnotised and vulnerable woman. He left after a single night, leaving Lucian's mother with the consequences of having to give birth to and raise an unknown mans baby, and whilst his mother still desperately pined after her dashing stranger, the birth soon threw into sharp relief the reality of the situation. Up until Lucian was born, his mother had been under the impression that her midnight lover had been nothing but a passing man, a dashing gentleman who had taken her in with his wit and guile for a night of tempestuous pleasure before leaving on his way. What he'd actually been was a Vampire, a stalker of the night who relished in exploiting the ignorance and weak will of passing women before leaving them with their offspring, a perverse kind of "reward" for slaking the Vampires more base thirsts before it moved on. As soon as Lucian was born, his mother was cast out of the community by ignorant and frightened villagers who believed the child to be a curse, forced to live on the fringes of society, doing whatever little distasteful work was thrown her way by passers by and those who could not foist the job off on anybody else.

She raised Lucian as best she could - trying her best to instill in him some degree of decency - but was unable to stop the hard cynicism and bitterness of his nature from festering. He became a relatively bright, good natured young man, but the bullying and ostracisation of everybody around them served to encase that good heart in a wall of frost and iron, becoming bitter about his reality. But most of all, he became angry and vindictive on behalf of his mother; angry at the villagers, yes, but more so at the monster who had left her like this, at the beast who had slinked into her life and left her to face such awful consequences for the simple crime of falling for his guile. This anger only intensified when, at the age of 13, his mother was killed by a drunken villager who happened to cross her in the street. He accused her of being a demon-woman, a whore who consorted with devils and monsters to destroy honest, good folk like him...and he hit her. And hit her. And hit her and hit her and hit her until she'd stopped moving, lying in the street. And of course...nobody did a damn thing. Nobody cared. His mothers murderer wasn't even charged with assault as everybody simply moved on with their lives, nobody caring enough about the woman who slept with Vampires to see justice done.

So...Lucian saw to it that justice visited the man. Late the following week, as he stumbled home drunk yet again, Lucian struck. And struck. And struck and struck and struck until it was the drunk who lay unmoving in the road. And then...he turned his anger on the person who truly deserved it. The man who had left him to his life of pain and isolation despite knowing what he was doing...his father. His father, and monsters like him, caused untold suffering and agony each and every day, and almost nobody stood against them. Nobody sought to stop them. Well, it was about time that that changed. He fled the town that night, disappearing into the wilderness to leave that middle-of-nowhere hell-hole far behind him. He wandered for months, scrounging what he could to survive, until he eventually happened across a small abbey in the woods, from which the sounds of training and battle could be heard. Curious, he ventured closer until he could peek through the fence at the men and women in plate and mail sparring under the watchful eyes of several dozen clerics, priests and one older man seated above the rest, towards the back.

His eyes went wide as he recognised the symbol - the Priests of Kelemvor had often wandered through town, though his mother had hidden him whenever he had attempted to catch a glimpse of them - and he was about to turn tale and flee...when he was struck from behind, and everything went black. When he awoke, he found himself in a sparse chamber with naught but a bed and a hole in the corner for waste, and the old man from before in a chair on the opposite side of the room. His milky eyes designated him as blind, of course, but as soon as Lucian stirred, the old man spoke. He identified him as Kelsior, Oracle of Kelemvor, and explained that he was lucky; he had almost been executed as an undead blight by the patrolling Paladin who had found him, but Kelsior had found him instead and identified him as a cursed being, yes, but mortal nonetheless...and potentially, just the warrior they needed to fight the rising undead scourge. Kelemvor had apparently guided Kelsiors hand in finding the young Lucian, and that hand was now extending towards Lucian, offering him a place in the service of Kelemvor.

Lucian eagerly accepted - remembering the men in plate, and his vow to destroy all undead, including his father - and began his long, hard tutelage at the abbey. His fellow acolytes distrusted and despised him at first, though they all came to accept him over the years of training they underwent together - including several dangerous missions that they pulled through only by working together in tandem - before being released into the world to travel, spread the word of Kelemvor...and to place the Undead back into their graves once and for all no matter where they found them. He hunted down Undead in every corner of the world he could find, which eventually led him - around ten or twenty years ago - to the Frontier, protecting its peoples from the Scourge of the undead, the hamlets and travelers and tribes often having little in the way of protection from their evil filth. It was during his travels - five years ago, to be precise - when he came across a Native Elven Tribe, passing through the area. He'd followed some leads to a mysterious, suspicious Crypt that had all the hallmarks of an Undead Nest waiting to happen. Alas, the locals knew little about it and the Elder refused to give him greater details on it - it was apparently a Holy Site or some such - so he left. On the way out, however, he met a young 17 year old girl being bullied and tormented by the local children. Of course, he recognised her as a Half Elf immediately, and proceeded to scare the children away with a stern look. He took the young girl aside, attempting to reassure her, and assured her that should she make that difference her strength...nobody could ever use it to hurt her. She should embrace who she was, and to hell with anybody who thought she should be anything other than what she wanted to be. Of course, the young girl vehemently and savagely asked what he knew about being a half breed...leading to him removing his helmet to reveal his own halfblooded nature. They parted ways soon afterwards, but...he couldn't help but feel a little kinship with her. He'd been where she was, once, after all. He just hoped that she found her own way as quickly as he had.

Several nights later, he happened to be passing back through the area - a rainstorm had ruined his supplies, so he was looking to purchase replacements from the Tribe - when he heard fighting and screams through the woods. Hurtling through the brushes to find the source...he found the Tribe in flames, beset by the undead. Immediately, he waded into the fray, cutting down ghouls and Zombies and Skeletons left and right, looking for survivors...and found but one, surrounded and desperate. It was the girl he'd spoken to mere nights before, now facing down an overwhelming force for somebody so young. So of course...he stepped in, and aided in her survival. Afterwards, it transpired that she had visited the crypts that he was looking for, and had triggered some kind of Ancient Curse or Trap or other some such unholy abomination, and the resulting wave of Death had attacked her tribe in retribution. Of course, he made his way to the crypt immediately to annihilate the curse at its source, and served as a silent vigil for the funerary rites of her people. Afterwards, though it was against his usual nature, he offered her a place traveling by his side until the next town, where she could find her own way. She eventually agreed...and they've been traveling together ever since.

It has been fifty years now since Lucian left the abbey, and among certain circles he has made quite a name for himself...but still, there remains work to be done. Undead still exist, necromancy is still widespread...and his mission shall not be over until both have been utterly eradicated. And he, personally, will not die until his fathers fangs adorn his armour as trophies of his kill. His mother will be avenged, even if it costs him his life to do it.

Short Term Goals: Murder his father
Long Term Goals: Form an Inquisition and exterminate all Undead and similar Monsters. Exterminate all knowledge of Necromancy.

Connections:
Enyo: Friend, Companion, Sister-In-Arms, "It's Complicated."

And I shall dare to say this also, that to have them and always observe them is injurious, and that to appear to have them is useful; to appear merciful, faithful, humane, religious, upright, and be so, but with a mind so framed that should you require not to be so, you may be able and know how to change to the opposite.

oh yeah no I get what you're saying, Overall wise PA and FF are better. If youre going to be fighting Undead more than anything else though and going out to hunt them down and destroy them I think WF and WV would benefit you more in the short term.

I agree, but I think they'd be better picks for later on down the line. For now, PA and FF will help with his (and the parties) low damage output, and help overcome the DR a little. :P

And between the two of us hopefully we can deal out some decent damage with flanking and whatnot I have a decently high AC so I can get in melee range and garner up my Sneak attacks with an ally.

Between you with 2d6+7 and my 1d6+1d6+1 (which once I hit level 5 gets to 1d6+2d6+1+3) we should be able to at least chip away at things. With the 3rd that starts looking more reasonable as well we aren't going to be doing any 1 shot ogre fights but we should be able to hold our own especially if we ambush and split them up

Oh, as somebody who built a Sneak Attack Focused Ninja for my RL campaign (and ended up rolling ludicrous amounts of damage per turn) you're gonna want Improved Feint, just in case. And maybe Mobility :P

Well, don't forget; take another level or Rogue Unchained, and you can add Dex to Damage with your Rapier instead of Str. :P

This is true. I would like a fourth companion just in case, though; a bit of a tankier fellow who can take the frontlines a bit more easily. xD And it feels like it's a bit of a sausage fest at the moment. We need a girl or two to balance things out :P

Ill definitely look into Improved Feint but honestly my Rapier isn't actually going to be my main weapon as soon as I hit level 4 sorcerer and unchained Rogue Ill be able to start going into Arcane trickster level 10 of that my spells apply for sneak attack so Ill probably end with using Spells more often.

Definitely Planning on Silent spell in there somewhere and going down the dodge line I also want to get Arcane armor training to nuke the last 5% of my Arcane spell failure that I currently have lol

But yeah level 4 is Sorcerer 2 so I can keep my Caster level even with my level for at least one more level then Unchained at lvl 5 and sorcerer at 6 :P

I'ma wait on my Personality and bio until we get a setting so I can use that to help with some of the finer details.

only reason I didn't go female Kobold in this like i was planning was the fact I got a female kobold Spellthief in another game and having two would get confusing XD Catfolk are surprisingly hard to find good pics for that aren't nekomimi.

True, but as a Rogue you want to be able to apply Sneak to everything. My Ninja got to the point where she could deal Sneak Damage if she moved more than ten feet before attacking :P

Aaaah, I see. You might also want to look at things like Spell Focus and Intensified Spell. My Cardcaster Magus at level 7 takes Intensified Spell, and usually applies it to his Shocking Grasp. A level 2 spell that can deal a maximum of 10d6 damage? Yes please. xD

Haha, yes, yes they are xD I mean, I'm not complaining - I love me some Neko's - but they're rather...tough to find decent pictures of sometimes if you don't want a  Neko. xD

I was thinking about possibly asking if I can take shocking grasp and spell shift it to a cold spell. Freezing Grasp :P and yeah spell focus intensify spell all good options. I also get Rogue talents I can use one to get Improved Feint and qualift for Greater feint

Or maybe acid and get a Corrosive grasp I think I like that idea more lol.

Character sheets look good. Just a few things I spotted. For Lucian, what is a silver plated greatsword? Alchemical silver would be +180 to the price so it doesn't appear to be that. Also why 1d10 damage? That's a bastard sword, I though this was a greatsword. How does he have so many languages? His intelligence is 12 so that's 1 extra language, yet he has a lot more. What did I miss?

For d'Artagnan, how is the rapier damage 1d6+1? Is that shorthand for arcane strike, or did I miss something? Background story works, though a catfolk family that somehow ends up with a kobold brother is interesting to say the least. He certainly could have killed a solider after arrieving in the colony, law is a bit tricky to enforce at times, so even murders can fall threw the cracks. No problem using the Albed language for draconic.

Yeah the +1 is arcane strike Im assuming that I will always spend a swift for that when i can.

EDIt: As for the personality and the backstory I was going to wait to flesh those out more when i had somewhat of a setting to look at so my story falls closer in line to the general idea.

Silver Plated is just that; it's not alchemical silver, it's just edged with silver which is +50 to the price and the only thing it does is overcome DR / Silver. As for languages, one of his background Skills is Linguistics, which gives a bonus language with every rank. The damage, that's a typo :P
