We already know the Chinese government is a totalitarian dictatorship, let's find ways to become more like them!

Humor, bad or not, is only one way to cope with the foolishness of congress to slowly excise the freedoms of the people for the almighty dollar.

I've been watched this unwind all sorts of times. The media industry wants to make every dime out of their IP. If they could charge you a nickel for humming along with the music they would. At the same time, they do everything they can do to screw their artists, producers and writers out of a fair piece of the take. If they had their way, all those DVDs wouldn't go to anyone but them; or they would look for more ways to cook the books and hide the cash from their artists and money makers.

It's "Buy your politician", and it leads to problem acts like these.

SUPPOSEDLY it's to provide the legistlatures with an 'informed' outlook on niche topics that they might not understand.

In actually its' like you said. The Koch brothers are a good example of it, its' definitely 'buy your local congressman/senator/president/judge'
