Romania in the 1900s.

Vampires exist. But they are divided into two covens.

One coven, Coven of Light, desires to live in peace with the humans. Choosing only to feed from animals, or willing humans.

The other, Coven of Dark, snatches up humans as they see fit. Keeping them locked away, draining as much as they want, and spreading panic throughout the streets.

Then there are the humans. Some embrace the idea of giving themselves willingly to a vampire. Others live in fear of being taken and used as a blood bank.

Only one question remains;

Where do your loyalties lie?

This doesn't have to end in a fight, Buck.
It always ends in a fight.
You pulled me from the river. Why?
I don't know.

Rules:
~If you're the type of RPer who only posts one or two lines, maybe even a paragraph, then this IS NOT the game for you.
~At the moment, I don't have a max character limit. Make as many as you can keep up with, but PLEASE keep balance in mind. If Dark Coven members outweigh Light Coven members, DON'T make another Dark Coven vampire. Human characters are limitless. If I see the numbers getting out of control, I will most likely ask for characters to be put on hold or kill them off.
~Do not remove sections of the character sheet. They are there for a reason.
~Vampires are allowed to have special gifts, but they are not required. That being said, god-modding/power play WILL NOT be tolerated.
~Both covens will have a first in command vampire pair (Alpha), second in command vampire pair (Beta), and third in command vampire pair (Delta). In character, these vampire's words are the law.
~The Alphas have final say. They can override the Beta and Delta pair, but will always take their actions/suggestions into account.
~Each vampire pair does not have to be a male/female pair. Any pair is acceptable, as long as they get along and their histories link each other together. These pairs are all about trust. Break that, and the coven is no more.
~Each coven will most likely have different sets of rules.
~When a fight occurs between the two covens (OOC warning ahead of time), be prepared for possible losses on each side. Vampires WILL get wounded, and some may even die. NPCs and PCs are fair game.
~Romantic relationships with the opposite coven are acceptable, but must be hidden IC. Unless your vampire wishes to face severe punishment.

Chain of command:
~Alpha - Head vampires. They set the rules of the coven and make sure the Beta and Delta vampires carry out their tasks. They are usually the oldest vampires, but that may not always be the case. Alphas are chosen based on leadership abilities, level-headedness, ability to keep calm in stressful situations, and how they have conducted themselves during their time in the coven. It is unusual for them to fight in a coven war, but not unheard of.

~Beta - Next in command vampires if the Alphas are away or unavailable. The Alphas consider them extremely trustworthy and dependable. They and the Alphas have usually known each other for many years, and they may have helped establish the coven. Betas make sure the Deltas fulfill their duty to teach and train the apprentices. Betas usually fight in a coven war. Their main job is to protect the Alphas.

~Delta - The Delta pair is a physically strong pair of vampires. They serve as protectors to the coven. They train apprentice vampires, in case a war between the covens should happen. Deltas are chosen based on physical strength, and loyalty to their coven. Deltas always fight in a coven war.

~Apprentices - Apprentices are vampires under the training of the Delta. They are similar to warriors. Not all vampires are fit to be apprentices, and so monthly recruitment sessions are held to see which vampires fit the criteria. They are by no means mandatory, but it is said that the Coven of Dark is quite pushy with this rule... Apprentices always fight in a coven war.

~Fledglings - Fledgling vampires are young vampires, most likely new to the coven. They are either created from a willing human who has been turned, or they are born from a vampire couple. They must adhere to the rules set in place by the hierarchy, or suffer the punishment. Fledglings are forbidden from fighting in coven wars. Though some have been known to slip by.
This doesn't have to end in a fight, Buck.
It always ends in a fight.

PM all character sheets to persephone325! I'd like to keep the thread looking organized. Again, please don't remove sections from the CS below unless they don't apply to the character you're making. Thank you!

[float=left][/float]

Name: Self-explanatory

Age: Looks/Actual (Vampires - Nothing too crazy here, please! Humans don't worry about "Looks".)

Race: Vampire/Human (Vampires - Specify if you're a halfling, full blood or created.)
Halflings - Born from a vampire and human relationship.
Full blood - Born from a two vampire relationship.
Created - Turned from human.
Humans - No vampire hunters allowed yet.

Willing to turn/be turned?: Humans - are you willing to be turned, or do you want to avoid that at all costs?
Vampires - are you willing to turn a human, willing or otherwise?

Coven: Light or Dark (Vampires only)

Position: Alpha, Beta, Delta, Apprentice, Fledgling (Vampires only)

Power: Vampires only. Again, nothing too crazy here. If you have a question, please ask me. Older vampires usually have more advanced powers.
Limit: 1 grandiose power OR 1 "normal" power OR 2 very weak powers

Family: Vampires usually have family in their coven. Though you may leave this section blank if you're still figuring out links with other players.
If your character has no family, you may put whatever you wish here.

Personality: At least one paragraph (5-7 sentences). If using a list, have at least 5 bullet points.

History: The older the vampire, the longer the history. Human characters need at least three solid paragraphs. Two may be accepted if they are well written.

Other skills: Anything that your character has that wouldn't be considered a power.
(Ex: Special necklace, chess master, etc.)

In a coven war, would you be OK with your character being killed?: Yes or no here.
All characters will be wounded or hurt in some way, but death is the big question.

Ons/Offs: Link to your O/Os here. Or you can just list the big ones.

This RP takes place a few years after one of the most devastating coven battles to date. Casualties were heavy on both sides, including:
~The Alpha pair for the Coven of Light.
~The Delta pair for the Coven of Dark.
~Apprentices on both sides.

When creating your character, you may use this information in your character's history. They may have lost family, friends, and it gives them a reason to despise the other side more than they already do.

If anyone would like to have a family member in a position of power that died during the battle, please let me know.

Coven of Light
Yumi "Sakura" Ando - Alpha

Name: Yumi "Sakura" Ando

Age: 19/400

Race: Vampire - Full blood

Willing to turn/be turned?: She would turn a human to vampire only to save them if they were dying. Or, if she truly cared about a human and didn't want to lose them.

Coven: Light

Position: Alpha

Power: Precognition/Retrocognition - the power to see the future (and sometimes the past)
Calming aura - can project a soothing aura to calm those around her

Family: Her parents (the previous Alpha pair) were killed in the most recent coven battle, leaving her the next in line, and most logical choice.

Romantically involved with Toshiee, her Alpha partner.

Personality:
~Gentle and friendly; but can be a bit shy
~Very intelligent
~Fiercely loyal to her family/coven
~If crossed or lied to, she's a deadly enemy
~Has a good sense of humor

History: Yumi was born to the late Alpha pair of the Coven of Light. Her parents, Rika and Katsuo, created the Coven of Light in order to provide a safe place for vampires and their offspring to live. They also knew they were expecting, and wanted their child to grow up in a safe place. Hence the formation of the coven.

Though a few vampires did not share the same ideals as her parents. They broke away and formed the Coven of Dark. It was the Dark vampires that started the first coven war. Not long after the creation, they killed a fledgling Light vampire for seemingly no reason. It was the spark that created the animosity between the covens that still holds true to this day.

In the most recent coven war, Yumi's parents were killed. She assumed the throne, choosing her long time friend Toshiee to stand beside her. In the few years that followed, it was up to her and Toshiee to bring order back to the coven as they all dealt with the loss of the beloved Alpha pair.

Other skills: Siren Song - can hypnotize mortals with a song, drawing them closer to the source. Though Yumi only uses this to lure mortals towards her, and away from danger.
Medium - able to see/communicate with spirits. However this ability is not very strong, therefore Yumi is only able to contact spirits whom she is close with. Or if provided with enough information on someone she does not know.

In a coven war, would you be OK with your character being killed?: No

Ons/Offs: Fire & Ice

persephone325
Toshiee Mori - Alpha

Name: Toshiee Mori

Age: He looks between 20 and 25 but is actually 400

Race: Full blood.

Willing to turn/be turned?: He would be willing to turn someone.

Coven: Light

Position: Alpha

Power: Elemental manipulation of fire, he must ake breaks due to the severe heat. And light telepathic ability, he may only use it with those he cares for, currently only the female alpha of the light coven.

Family: His family is deceased.

Personality: He is a calm and cool man, possibly a bit aloof at times, he is not bound in tradition like many clans of old Japan, he has grown with the times. He has a penchant for sarcasm as well as being a bit of a smartass, he hated the old ways of Japan for the most part but he did embrace many tenants of Bushido. He rarely fights, he hates to do so unless he intends to kill his enemy. He is harsh to the point of mean at times but he is soft and sweet with those he cares for. He also likes to draw and play a bit of piano and guitar to express his more artistic side. He also prefers to be in solitude much of the time to contemplate his life, he is now changing that as well to spend more time with his Alpha counterpart.

History: He was born in the late 1400's in a rural area of Japan to a small Samurai clan, he was the oldest child of his father, Keiji, he was raised to be trained as a samurai which meant he spent much of his time everyday practicing with weapons. He was very tall for the times, standing just over six foot one inch tall. He weighs about one hundred and ninety pounds. He is best with his katanas, which he still keeps to this day. He is also a great archer. He was trained in the ways of Bushido from an early age and still keeps to his most important tenants today. He has scars on both of his hands from cutting himself from drawing his sword. As he grew up he became a grand samurai, he fought fully hidden by armor from anyone who could see him to keep his youth a secret. He was eventually praised as a great warrior and considered a rival to men such as Lu Bu and Honda Tadakatsu. In his early twenties his family was defeated and sent to scatter in the winds.

After the fall of his family he lived as a Ronin, a man who goes from to job to job and by many is said to love without honor. He was not that kind of man, he only took jobs that were worth his time and he protected the weak to do all he could to make Japan a better place. Neither of his parents had died in the fall of his family and they stayed together for a long time after it happened. They roamed Japan for much of the next century and a half, still keeping their faces hidden in public. They acted like beggars and lepers at times to keep their cover in public. As this lifestyle drew on for them they slowly tired of it and sat their sights on making a new home for their family. They began this in the early 1650's by becoming Ronin once more to build up money. It took them a few years of ceaseless travel and murder to build up their funds to begin life anew. In the 1670's they made their move and bought up a bit of land in the Edo territory to lay a stake to a new Mori era.

About 30 years after this happened the Mori clan was once again defeated in a large battle, proving to him his fathers inadequate ability as a warrior and a strategist. His parents were lost in the battle, unbeknownst to him they were not killed. He was once again forced to roam the land as a beggar and Ronin. He took on all of the jobs that he could, but stayed to the ones that were worth his ability and time to take his mind off of things. He was able to gather enough money to move to build his family once more from the dirt they had fallen into, he hated to see his family have such a useless name. By this point he had been alive for around 225 years and he would spent the next 15 years trying to rebuild his family name in a way that could never be again tarnished and turned into a useless word.

Now at 240 he again became embroiled in the flames of a kind of war, though this one was much different and harder to explain. It was a turf war of sorts, the samurai were a relic of a time passed and the gangs of Yakuza was attempting to set up their claims on the lands of Japan, he saw his parents, full in their fall from grace as they had fallen to be part of the terror that the gangs were beginning to give to the lands, people scurrying away from them everywhere they went had changed them. Theu were cold and angry at the world and they pushed their son hard, attempting to make him join them instead if staying where he believed. He never gave in to them and fought back as hard as he could to stop them. He soon had taken the entire city he liged in under his protection as he fought this new kind of war. After a ten year power struggle in the city he won, his fight was over for now but it came at a great and terrible cost to his heart. During the fighting he had to kill both of his parents to stop those that followed them into their reign of terror they wished to build to rule over Japan and take all that they wanted to have.

After this, Toshiee tried to fade in the shadows of the world to be as far away from people as he could, he wanted nothing to do with humanity, those people that had poisoned his parents and turned them into what they were. He committed no atrocities and held no grudge against all humans of the world. He simply avoided them for as long as he could for the better part of the next 50 years. He went back to the way he had been before. He roamed from town to town and posed as a beggar or a sick man to get all that he needed before moving on, he was judicious with all parts of his life, he rarely talked to anyone or laid with anyone. He felt like his heart has lost its way and it hurt him deeply, he never turned away from his tenants of Bushido and lived with all of the honor that he could do so. He often looked back on his life to think of the better times that he had in his memory.

Now at 300 years old Toshiee left Japan, he went to Romania to join the Coven of Light, he fell into the life he could make with them. He enjoyed it and once again began to feel alive and happy in his life. He rose through the ranks of the Coven, he fought hard for the people he had lived with bravely in the war. After the war he was offered the spot of Alpha male of the Coven. He accepted the role with happiness, he was happy to be able to help the people that had taken him in when he had needed it the most.

Skills: He is a master swordsman, he knows Muay Thai and jujitsu as well , he is an artist and able to play the violin, piano, guitar.

Coven of Dark
Katherine Lilly Ashworth - Beta

Name: Katherine Lilly Ashworth.

Age: Look to be around 22 years. Actually is around 160 years.

Race: Vampire – Created.

Willing to turn/Be turned: She might possibly be willing to turn someone, but it would be quite rare and would have to be someone very special.

Coven: Dark.

Position: Beta.

Power: Katherine has the obvious abilities that every Vampire has which include abnormal speed, heightened senses and physical strength. The thing that makes her unique isn't anything special, but a more advanced version of something other Vampires also have; Healing abilities. Her healing doesn't take long to kick in after being hurt and can be distinguished by the steam that seems to rise form the wound as it heals.

Family: The rest of her Coven is the only people she considers family. (Looking to establish connections in more details.) Katherine also had a identical twin sister, who she loved until the day of her death. (More of her sister is explained in her History.)

Personality: When dealing with Katherine many take her by face value and that can often be a huge mistake. Do not be deceived by her looks, she can be very heartless at times. Katherine isn't one to beat around the bush and says what she thinks, though a lot of the time she can seem aloof or seemingly uninterested. Katherine is mostly quite quiet in her mannerisms and her voice, though her opinions carry weight and can sometimes be considered harsh. Katherine is willing to do whatever it takes to protect those close to her and can get rather excited by violence or bloodshed. This excitement can often lead people to think that she has some sort of personality disorder, but she simply hides her emotions well when things are calm. Secretly, Katherine can be quite power hungry and her patience acts as a tool for her to become higher up the food chain. Time has only nurtured her personality and in result she has blossomed into a strong woman; something she had never thought she could be.

History: Katherine Ashworth was brought up in Mississippi, USA and lived out a life there with her biological family and her only sibling; her identical twin sister, Cassandra Ashworth. They were brought up as any young ladies should be and didn't even go without ; their family wasn't particularly hard done by and the girls were quite well known for simply being the pretty, southern twins from one of the wealthier families in town. They were also known for their love of each other; their relationship often described as strange or unusual, not like that of twin sisters. It was true, there was something they found in each other that they didn't think anyone else in the world had, and for the period of their life together as humans they were overly protective of each other and it was obvious that something not quite normal was going on between them.

Just before the girls twentieth birthday, they met a strange man who arrived in town rather suddenly. He was handsome and mysterious with an alluring aura that people simply couldn't ignore. He had a strange accent, one the girls did not recognize, and was tall as any man should be. The girls feel for him together and he appeared to take an interest in them as well after their first meeting. In the two years the three of them were together, everything spiraled out of control. Katherine and Cassandra were introduced to this strange world that they'd never seen before. Sex, blood, violence, power; all those things were pushed upon them both and they loved it, thrived in it even. He revealed himself to them just before their twenty-second birthday and that was when he decided he wanted them to be his forever. The girls agreed and he turned them shortly after their birthday.

The girls left their family to move across the world with this man, to the place Katherine is currently living; Romania. At first the girls felt out of place with their pale skin, blond hair and southern-american accents, but they soon learned to love the country and all it had to offer. After around forty, maybe fifty years with their lover and sire, he introduced them to a Coven of Vampires, so they had more then just him. The group called themselves the Coven of Light. Cassandra took to it right away; she loved meeting new people. Katherine, however, felt she didn't need anyone but him and her sister. By this point the three of them were having sex on a regular basis and sometimes Katherine and Cassandra would spend the night together sexually without him. The Coven of Light accepted the both of them as underlings and they began to learn how to defend themselves and control their hunger. Katherine didn't like it at all. She didn't take to controlling her hunger; it was often too much for her and she had a hard time learning self restraint.

Cassandra and Katherine soon started drifting apart and their arguments became more and more heated as the years went on. The man that kept them both under control suddenly started disappearing more and more, until he completely left them to god knows where. Katherine's finally decided she wasn't the same as the people she was surrounding herself with and asked her sister to leave with her to another Coven she'd found. One of the Alpha's of the Coven of Dark had approached her and made her feel more confident with her feelings; they convinced her she was right and that the Coven of Light was completely ridiculous. Cassandra declined her sisters offer to leave with her and that was the final straw in Katherine's eyes; she left by herself and completely disowned her twin from that point on. Katherine took up the offer of the Coven of Dark and was quite quickly raised to the point of being a Beta.

When the battle between Coven's came around she hadn't seen her sister in few decades and they happened to meet on the battle field. Cassandra really struggled with the decision to fight her sister, and Katherine would be lying if she said the decision was easy, but the two ended up resulting in a battle to the death and eventually Katherine killed her sister. It wasn't easy and Katherine, deep, deep down feels guilty for everything that happened between them; she would never admit this to just anyone, however. This only resulted her in falling deeper into herself and becoming more reserved. Katherine is happy to continue with her goal of achieving power through the Coven of Dark alone.

Other skills:
- Fast reader. Reading if one of her favorite past times.
- Dancer. Dancing is one of her favorite hobbies and she uses he agility and flexibility to her advantage during everything she does, even fighting.
- Quiet mover. Katherine moves almost silently and secretly enjoys sneaking up on people.
- Slightly OCD. She can't help but put things straight and tidy up as she goes, even after other people.

In a coven war, would you be OK with your character being killed?: I think I would be able to cope with her being killed off, so yes.

Ons/Offs: You can find my O/O’s here!

Yoshi Kalgora - Beta

Name: Yoshi Kalgora

Age: 20s/700

Race: Vampire/Created

Willing to turn: Ha! No. (But maybe if you can really sway him. Good luck.)

Coven: Dark

Position: Beta

Power:
Clairvoyance:
He can feel out his surroundings without having to see them. Over time he has been able to tell a lot from objects, their mass, their weight. Though there is a distance to this in itself like a human eye which looks out into the distance and sees things larger along the way, the same is for his Clairvoyance. It is strong in a good hundred or so feet, but the further it extends the lesser it becomes. Yoshi has perfect control over this power, even though he can’t technically see people, he can feel them out and the objects around him, and even fine tune it to focus on particular things, no matter if they are behind another object or not.  This is a ‘sixth’ sense for him. Beyond this, it only tells him about physical properties that surround him, not mental. He still won't know everything about it, especially the color, but height and weight of an object won't become too much of a trouble if he is right up close to it, not to mention shape, which he more often than not can spook the ladies by guessing their three sizes.

Family:
N/A

Personality:
His personality, something which would have to be viewed upon carefully by his peers and even his past superiors. It is hard to tell whether or not he is friend or foe by the way he acts, how he chooses to do things upon his accord. Rules aren’t blindly followed on his end, in fact if something is suspicious that he has to do, he won’t hesitate to question about the reasons behind it. Of course, any one can imagine that this often provokes conflict on his end and his superiors(past or present), but that is how things go for him. He has never been just any measly pawn, not in his past and especially not in the present; from earlier life experiences, he has came into terms of learning if he is to be a ‘tool,’ than one worth using by those he pledges to serve.

Individuality is what he represents and thus he isn’t a team guy. If it is one thing he can’t stand, than it is having to cooperate with others; in his opinion, he has better things to be doing than ‘babysitting.’ Many call it arrogance, but Yoshi doesn’t think it as that; for him, cooperation is one of the many things in which he frowns down upon, though this is also due to his protective nature. He rather not have an accident taking place where a fellow member dies by acting foolishly amongst him and thus this is the main subject of why he generally avoids allying with those around him. He has done fine so far on his own and he can still do fine without the help or aid from anyone else. Why should he combine strength with other people?

Mainly it is due to his blindness that he acts the way he does, often chooses to be hesitant in particular situations. This is also because he can see through some peoples intentions and for him, it is easier to judge someone when sight is robbed of. One may call it a sixth sense on his part that is opened up, allowing him to easier decipher strangers, fellow brothers in arms, and other individuals that he might come into terms of meeting. Though all and all, this won’t do much upon changing in his lone wolf, cocky attitude.

Another thing that often pushes people away from him is his strong sense of sarcasm about him. Probably due to him just being a grumpy, old, blind vampire who had to put up with a lot of shit from those around him in his past life and even in the present alike. To be frank, he doesn’t care who you might be, you could even be the highest ranked vampire out there and he will still mouth off with those ‘cracks’ of his if a stupid or obvious question is posed his way. One can understand how this may irritate and piss others off around him, but frankly Yoshi doesn’t give a damn how they may take his puns. He isn’t buttering up any pictures on their end or beating around the bush.

Killing is one of those things he has no quarrel in doing, though he never goes as far as blasphemy declaring it in the name of ‘honor ’ or ’justice‘; Yoshi just isn’t that type of guy. For him it is a dog eat dog world, if conflict can’t be avoided, he won’t hesitate to cut his enemy down from where they stand. Mercy is one of the definitions he doesn’t comprehend and when he has given thorough warnings and when they aren’t heeded, he sees no reason in bringing the suspect back with him in a beaten, near death state; heaven’s no to that. It is either come along peacefully or don’t come along at all, period, when he is dealing with another. His guidelines are a three strike rulebook and he will follow true to his word about killing someone if they choose to neglect his earlier warnings; with no remorse of conscience in the end either of committing such a deed upon his part.

Beyond that, he carries his proud warrior’s spirit made up of its set of honor codes. Amongst these, he tries to avoid confrontation amidst innocent bystanders; and it is that same compassionate side that will often bring him to save someone who can’t fend for themselves, especially those of the innocents. Also, he lives strongly by the rules of an eye for an eye. If he is betrayed, he will kill those that are responsible, if someone does something ill to him, he will get them back as well. His vengefulness is what truly makes him dangerous and don't go thinking he won't be 'getting his cake and eating it too,' the only thing that saves those from his wrath is borrowed time.

History:
Human Years: 1200-1221

Born in the Feudal, Kamakura period of Japan, in Yoshi’s early years, he had his share of a horrifying life. When he was a child of eight, he bare witnessed to his father being murder, mother raped and assaulted, along with his slightly older sister at that time. These events were the cause of shameless ronin carelessly brandishing their swords, looting and pillaging a peaceful town; but the boy and his sister were saved from who knows what could of became them afterwards. The child’s mother, on the other hand, was taken away and before the same could happen to the daughter, an Embassy of the emperor and his posse luckily arrived on the scene. Seeing the town in distress, the ronin were quickly arrested, some even executed on sight. The Embassy to pity on the two children and decided to introduce them to the Emperor.

Surprisingly the Emperor was kind enough to allow them homage inside his castle, as long as they both abided by the rules and promised to serve him and those accustomed to his family. For three full years, Yoshi done chores back and forth, helping clean the palace, delivering food to and fro, and occasionally but rarely tending to the equines. Beyond that, he was quite the playmate of the Emperor’s children, getting along well with them, even in trouble due to being around them; but such things are to be expected as a child.

One example to such trouble the child got into was when he was snuck into the armory; immediately Yoshi panic when handed a sword to examine. The uproar itself resulted in clattering of armor, a frighten screaming of the daughter of the Emperor’s and a bewildered look of the son to the man, let alone those of close guards rushing in to see the hysterical and hyperventilating Yoshi curled in a fetal position. His past was already traumatizing enough without being reminded of those weapons and if it wasn’t for a long winded talk from the Emperor himself, the boy would of likely and possibly withered away.

The talk itself had inspired enough faith and even moved and sway him in giving it all, to become a swordsman not to just protect the emperor, nor the empire, but all innocent people who often get involved in the crossfire itself. It was his dream to become a noble and proud man, to be able to save human lives that those of the wicked nature dare to walkover. By thirteen he was transfixed and study the codes and ethics of Bushido itself, even begged and requested alike to be trained in martial arts, and swordplay itself. Still too young to lift a blade, he was indeed taught in hand to hand combat; although by his fifteen birthday he soon enough was lifting and training with a sword.

At sixteen he was finally imitated into the regiment of the Royal Guards who protected the Emperor with their life. By that time, the young lad was still training, although he did have the potential and discipline to continue to push himself where his skills were noticeable enough to allow him to serve directly under the Emperor and his children. In the next five to six years of his life from that point, he continued to grow in skill, always aiding the family inside the palace and on rare occasion safeguarding any journeys of theirs in and outside of Japan itself.

Though the events of one of those trips late at night transpired into something rather dangerous, even difficult for Yoshi to handle. Sure him and the other entourage that protected the Royal Family never dealt with anything ’youkai’ base. The vampires were saw as demons when they group preyed upon and assaulted the mortals; however, trained samurai proved to be a difficult match for the leeches and at the same time, normal cuts with the sword to the body wasn’t doing it with the vampires. The group had to severe limbs, but before they even comprehended that many were already being fed upon.

In the end, the Royal Guards were nearly exterminated, Yoshi was one of the last few men standing, still intent on protecting the Emperor’s family members. He even bold to retreat with them, getting them out of there; though the outcome wasn’t the best. The leader of that group of vampires wasn’t the least bit amused, having already lost nearly all of the men under his wing to have it go for naught when the Royal family got away. Not only did he find a means to blind Yoshi, claim the man’s sight without removing those eyes, but also he turned the young man to force him to live on in an eternity of darkness; or until Yoshi died of other causes.
Vampire Years Japan Life: 1221-1547

Handicapped with blindness, cursed with a need to feed, Yoshi had to rely upon instinct for his survival. The first few years of vampiric life were hard and heavy upon his, mainly due to the prospect that his sight had been robbed form and feeding on victims at that point wasn’t easy. Nonetheless, he progressed, he managed to find a means of survival, a long a difficult road ahead of him in that respect as well. People that learn of his survival begun to shun him, cursing him, even the Emperor and his family neglected and ignored Yoshi’s existence. He was betrayed by everyone, having risk his life to those he wished to protect and that was the thanks they gave him in return, not even trying to help his condition? Instead they even aimed to kill him, to stop his current reign of terror in the lands, but those attempts of theirs failed.

Crippled with blindness, Yoshi found a means to stay upon the move throughout Japan, making his way south either on foot or by boat. He knew he couldn’t remain in the city he was taken in, especially now that he was assumed as a youkai like the creature that had preyed upon him. Truthfully anywhere was better, usually having to find his means to join caravans, hiring himself off as a ronin to guard the merchandise to keep a low alibi. Usually he even hid his appearances with a cloak, doing what he could at night so few may discover that he was blind. Sure, there were suspicions how he walked with his cane, though over the years he was growing accustomed to his handicap and was able to perform it off enough that change the views of those that surrounded him.

His aiding the trading convoy days ended around 1300, by that time many had already forgotten him and those of the Emperor’s descendants that might of still been alive were too old to recount such a man. This granted him a bit more flexibility to move freely amongst the islands of Japan; though he still kept his identity mostly to himself. The Yoshi Kalgora, the once boy they knew and monster they detest was assumed gone, a mystery maybe even later folklore if there were any to still carry such tales. Still, the man that had once served the emperor was now freelancing his lifestyle in Japan, playing the role perfectly of the traveling ronin without a master or clan to call home.

With the ports that offered some ferries from one island to the other, Yoshi took a trip to Shikoku. Because the island was one of the smallest, it granted the blind vampire a bit more lead away with getting away in some of his feedings, should those times come, which generally they would at night. Of course, he wasn’t foolish enough to stay in one city for too long, usually finding a proper rotation through the three cities of Tokushima, Kochi, and Ehime, leaving one each twenty or so years. By the time he may arrive back to the former, there should be a time lapse of a good sixty or so years; by then, most people would already be in old age to even remember that he was there before. It was better than just staying there, leading people to start to expect something when he didn’t grow old, no, Yoshi couldn’t afford drawing attention to himself like that.

By 1525, he had already did a few four or so roundabouts of this type of living, within that time he had also been practicing his swordsmanship, even sparing with a few locals. His age was beginning to show with his blindness, he begin to be able to sense things more clearly with the lack of sight, though Yoshi simply decided to pass it off with a thought that he was just getting accustomed to not seeing, that his current curse life have became simple enough for him. Little did he realize his mind was divulging itself into his clairvoyance, the power itself enough to seep out of him and naturally feel things around him without him even putting any effort behind it.

During that year though, 1525, he caught another ferry, this time heading to Kyushu and upon arrival, he spent his time at travel again throughout the cities the Kyushu island had to offer him. Nothing was much different to him, but he didn’t do the prolonged stay rotation of living and feeding. Instead he went ahead in getting a feel of the land around him and this went on till around 1540.

At that time, he decided to take another ferry, heading further south to the Tanegashima island, staying there for the next three or so years, till Portuguese traders made their expedition within Japanese territory. Yoshi was reluctant to greet them, though he ‘watched’ them, curious to what items they were introducing to the Japanese. He stayed his distance from them, though before their leave, he also stowaway upon their vessel without their knowledge, returning within them within a few years to Portugal.
Vampire Years European Life: 1547-1860

Instead of putting Yoshi to the gallows the Catholic church decided to take him in and ‘teach’ him, persay. Ironic as it may be for a vampire to be preached to. Within a good ten years of stay within them, he had learn what he needed to know to communicate, but they never truly converted him over. He also knew he couldn’t stay for too long with them, as people begin to expect things once more when you don’t happen to age like humans do. The church was a fun place, he’ll give it that to some extent, but the people their made his skin crawl in a way he didn’t like.

Just like he had done Japan before him, he was now doing the same to Portugal, traveling that is. Within his travels he had ran into the few other, occasional vampires- more so than he ever done within his life in Japan,- though he didn’t pay those much any mind. They seemed to be having their good operations going, unknown to the world around them and Yoshi just left them be when he was on the move. Unlike some people, he just couldn’t naturally settle down for too long in one place, perhaps he was a bit hypersensitive or something, or maybe it was his wisdom to what he was that he didn’t want to give away any evidence from familiar faces remembering him. Whichever it was or might have been kept the man moving either on foot or any transportation he could scourge up.

Fortunately he managed to avoid the silly war of humans when he left Portugal completely, moving on from Spain to France during the Dutch-Portuguese war. Though he wasn’t as lucky to evade the other wars that followed in the years that past. The only thing that ever been upon his mind since, is if humans had anything better to do but kill each other for territorial control.

From the War of the Spanish Succession, to the Seven Years’ War to even the French Revolution, these thoughts plague more at Yoshi’s mind with the senseless violence he normally stumbled upon within his travels. Of course, no one can play the typical bystander and turn a blind gaze to these on goings, people tend to pull others in around them with their insanity and at times like those, Yoshi had no choice but to brandish his sword against gun wielding, barbarians. All he ever wished to do was feed in peace, perhaps his stay in Japan would have been for the better, instead of having to put up with mortal nonsense every fifty or so many years. It brought him to secretly loathe their squabbles, started to lead him to believe that humanity could easier be controlled by some higher powers if they had enough influence to subjugate the mortals as a whole.
Vampire Years Romanian Life: 1860 - Present

Romanian may be too big to call that area he inhabited when he first came to it, it wasn’t till a year afterwards that the country was born and recognized for what it was. His time spent there was interesting, persay. Plenty years of more history for him to recount in his life and most of it was peaceful, well minus him venturing around in territories that was claimed by other vampires. How was he to know that there were actual Covens in this area? Still, things might of went better for the Light side if he strayed on their doorsteps than the other one by chance.

It wasn’t till shortly afterwards that he found himself badgered with lesser vampires, most of which belonging to the Dark Coven. Some of them he even ended up killing, now this alone was enough to arouse plenty of suspicion, a rogue vampire hanging out in territory that the Dark Coven claimed. It wasn’t much longer that they decided another route to approach him than attacking him on the spot, he rarely explained himself, though the leaders were persistent and convincing enough to allow him haven, having need of one with his talents. Why let someone like him go to waste or possibly turn to the other side, oh no, that would never do.

Yoshi decided to humor them on their offer and quickly he ascended the ranks within the Coven. He has never actively participated in any of the wars between the two, most of stature has remained questionable thus far within the Dark Coven. Those from the Light side that may steal a glance of him amidst those ranks have little information on him. Deceivingly he fit’s the role of a blind adviser quite well to his enemies and that is another reason why he is kept so close in the position he is in. What Light coven members that do see his potential see it too late. Yoshi has killed plenty in his past and isn’t afraid to bloody his blade if it serves a purpose for the Dark Coven. On the contrary, he still refuses to follow his orders blindly, which gives him more valuable with the backbone he possesses.

Even amidst the years of his stay, he has yet to show any signs of treachery or betrayal, keeping a strong tie of loyalty to the current Coven he serves. His relations with the other members remains questionable as well as he often doesn't actively approach them and there are many within the Coven that either fear or respect him enough, if not both, to stay their distance.

Other skills:
Swordsmanship:
Yoshi excels in the usage of swords, one of the reasons in which he chooses to wield a blade over a gun any day. It isn’t surprising for him to be as sharp as the tool he uses and quick witted to properly handle it to either deliver a fatal wound to the preferred target or maim it to the point of nigh death. With his centuries of blindness as well, he has made the blade a full extension to his body. It is another part of himself and it is exceedingly rare to find him without one, concealed or not, in his custody.

Hand to Hand Combat:
Don’t get Yoshi wrong, he isn’t completely naked without a sword, only fools would rely upon a weapon more than they may their body. All basic warriors must know how to fend for themselves and even robbed by sight doesn’t handicap him in a fight; if anything his senses are sharper. Though, it is rare for him to result to unarmed combat, at times however he may show signs of it. Mostly, he plays his skills off as an innocent blind man that doesn’t have the faintest of ideas of what is going on around mortals and the dumb witted younger vampires; however he isn’t afraid to display those true colors either if a situation calls for it.

In a coven war, would you be OK with your character being killed?: Not really. But I suppose it is okay if I go inactive or drop out, as I probably won’t return to the game then. Which I hope doesn’t become the case. Or if I get bored with this character. /endramble

Lenore Kovar - Fledgling

Name: Lenore Kovar

Age: 21/55

Race: Vampire - created

Willing to turn/be turned?: Never

Coven: Dark

Position: Fledgling

Power: Telepathy

Family: She killed her family after being turned.

Personality: Lenore was a spoiled girl when she was human, and so she feels entitled to whatever she wants. A snobby and rude girl, she looks down on most everyone who she feels is beneath her. That includes her vampire elders, if she feels she's better than them. She's used to getting what she wants, and if she doesn't she can turn angry in a split second. Lenore has a hot temper, and is usually quick to get into a fight.

History: As a human, Lenore was an only child. She was a spoiled brat due to her family being quite wealthy. Boys flocked over her, and girls were envious of her. However, this also meant that she caught the eye of a vampire. He, like Lenore, was used to getting what he wanted. And what he wanted was Lenore.

They became friendly, but Lenore constantly rejected his advances. She thought it was fun, leading the vampire around like a little puppy dog. He would cater to her every whim, and Lenore was happy leading him on. Though after she turned 21, he grew tired of her games. He turned her one night. Then she was under his command, and she hated it. She had to obey his every command.

One night, she had enough of the vampire and his outlandish demands. She killed him while he slept. Since then, she has been able to be the spoiled vampire brat she's wanted to be.

Other skills: Crazy bloodlust - loves to feed from humans (willing or unwilling, though she prefers unwilling humans) and the more they resist, the easier it is for her to overpower them, as she feeds off their fear

In a coven war, would you be OK with your character being killed?: Sure. Not a big deal.

Humans
Camilla Vasile

Name: Camilla Vasile

Age: 19

Race: Human

Willing to turn/be turned?: More likely, unwilling. Though it can be forced upon her if the event arises.

Family: Her family is scattered. She doesn't keep in contact with them, and doesn't even know where they live anymore.

Personality: Camilla isn't a 'friendly' girl. She can come across as harsh or mean. But it's merely a defensive mechanism. She can't stand vampires, though she is a bit intimidated by them. She likes to think that if she ever met a vampire, she would be able to defend herself. Maybe even kill the abomination...

History: When Camilla was younger, she lived a normal life with her parents in Romania. She remains there to this day, choosing to stay when her family decided to move away. The reason; the vampire problem. They felt their home was no longer safe, especially after a tragic event that shook the family.

A few years ago, right before the first coven war, Camilla witnessed vampires kill her best friend (Bianca) and her best friend's sister (Alexandria). That night, they were spending an evening together when there was a loud commotion as they walked down the street. It sounded like a fight, and Alexandria raced off to help. She was a kind young girl, always bending over backwards to help people in need. That night, it proved to be her undoing.

Bianca ran off after her sister, and Camilla kept close on her heels. Alexandria turned the corner, and by the time Bianca and Camilla caught up to her they found her in the arms of a vampire. He had drained her completely, along with a woman whom he was presumeably fighting with. Bianca rushed towards her sister, and the vampire snatched her up as well. Camilla couldn't will herself to move. She was terrified, and couldn't believe what she was seeing.

Before her eyes, the vampire killed Bianca and dropped her body on the ground. In the blink of an eye, the vampire had Camilla by the wrist and was proceeding to drink from her. It was one of the most painful experiences Camilla can remember. But as quickly as the pain had appeared, it stopped. Through somewhat blurry vision, Camilla could see the vampire fight against what looked to be another vampire.

After that night, Camilla became set in her ways. She despised the vampires, angry that they had taken the lives of people she cared about. She still has the bite wounds on her wrist from that night. A painful reminder of that horrible night...

Other skills: An adept fighter, she knows how to defend herself. But nothing much more than that.

In a coven war, would you be OK with your character being killed?: Maybe. I have no problems with her being captured and held against her will.

I'm interested in taking on a Delta role, though I'm not 100% sure which side to take. I feel more drawn to the Coven of Light, but I think it would be great fun to play in the Coven of Dark ;-;

Well I would love to RP with you again. I know we played in M.O.R.A.N.A before, (I think) but the game lost momentum.

If you can't decide, you can always send me your character sheet, and I can help you out. :-)

We did, indeed! (: And sadly, it did go downhill. It was such a great idea as well.

Thank you very much! (: I'll have a go at a sheet and see what I come up with. Who knows, I may be able to determine the side I want after I get some more details down.

No, no. It's fine. :-) lol

Umm... I don't really see them as being inspired from any one source. I think it's more like I took vampiric attributes from multiple sources and blended them together here.

You could say the coven war is inspired by True Blood. With vampires fighting against each other, and The Authority. There's a hierarchy in each coven, similar to The Authority.

As much as it pains me to say it, I took the idea of vampire powers from Twilight because that was the only cool thing in those godforsaken books. lol (In my opinion.)

Oh! Thanks for reminding me. I completely forgot about how they react to sunlight! *smacks self on forehead*

I was thinking that could be something that varied for each type of vampire. For example: a halfling could withstand sunlight at dusk and dawn, but nothing more than that.

Whereas a full blood could only stand extremely little amounts, if any at all.

EDIT: I've added a section to the character sheet, and asked for a little more info for "Race". But that only applies to vampires.

I'm going to say no for now. The main reason is because I want the main concern for the vampires to be other vampires. The humans are either too afraid because of the Coven of Dark, or too willing to be their food supply to upset the "balance" and cause more chaos.

I understand that. I've seen more than a few vampire movies... ::)

I think it best to just stick to basics. The sun is their one true weakness. If players want their individual vampires to have a weakness besides the sun, then that's fine. Maybe they find out they can't tolerate silver, because their vampire parents were allergic to it.

I'm letting the player decide what type of vampire they want to portray. They get to choose how weak or strong it is. If I set limits for everything, I'm restricting player creativity. So I'm not doing that.
