Hello all!  I've had an idea for a solo bit of fantasy fiction kicking around in my head for a bit, and I figure that the best way to explore it is to do so here!  It's a bit of an old-hat scenario, but it appeals to the "knight-in-shining-armour" part of me, and I'd love to see where it could lead.

So here's the pitch:

An average guy, in his early 30's (me) is driving home from work one day through a terrible rainstorm.  A huge bolt of lightning strikes the car, blinding him momentarily and forcing him from the road, where he crashes his car into something enormous.  The car is ruined, the airbags deploy, and the average guy gets knocked unconscious by the collision.  When he finally comes to, he gets out to find that, rather than hitting a tree, as he suspected, he has collided into (and killed) and enormous ogre.  Just past the body of the ogre is the form of a beautiful woman (some sort of exotic fantasy race - doesn't have to be elven, by the way - open to suggestions!), tied to spit and no doubt mere moments from having been the ogre's dinner.

The woman is a princess/chieftain's daughter/what-have-you, who was being escorted through dangerous territory when her party was waylaid by the ogre, who itself was a member of a larger, hostile army.  The guy who inadvertently saves her then frees her, and they flee into the forest (after he gathers a few things from his wrecked car).  He follows her because he has no idea what's going on, she drags him along because she is frightened and wants protection to help her return to her far off kingdom/tribe/what-have-you.  Along the way, he falls for her unearthly beauty, she falls for his heart-of-gold good Samaritanism.

So there you have it.  Me = stranger in a strange land with dreams of knightliness.  You = noble woman of a yet to be determined exotic race, entranced by the stranger's purity of heart.  We can work out the rest of the details in PMs.

Any one interested?

Still yearning for this one - any takers?  The last mentioned interest fell through, and I wasn't sure if I should repost this one or just add to it.
