I think I want to play, too.  Or maybe I want to build an awesome character and them dump you guys later. It's my m.o.  I will be working on my toon tonight.  He's a shameless clone of Spider-Man.

This game will not be shy of shameless clones, I assure you.  *May be scrapping Shizuka for a shameless clone.*

Not shameless clones..

Homages to classic heroic archetypes.

Anyone want to make suggestions for my psychic before I flush out his personality? I'm a bit worried about having such a low Toughness save, and I'm not sure if buying such a high Wealth value is a good idea - it fits the character perfectly, but Wealth seems like it could be a wasted 'stat' if I'm not a gadgeteer or tech-based hero.

Two Words: Body Armor :D
You're rich.. buy some equipment. :D

I'm also capped on points though, buying armor would penalize me somewhere else.

I could drop my Will save by 1 point, and get 5 points of Equipment to spend on an undercover vest.

Raveled

I won't be using Wealth in this game.  Keep it reasonable, though.

Equipment isn't the same as wealth.

My character is mostly done, (except for origin..working that out with another player.. we're considering a mutual orgin..and some changes in her life prechange)

TheGlyphstone

No Wealth? Okay, that simplifies it a little bit then, I'll pull those 5 points of Benefits feat and put them into something else.

Raveled

Yes, but he'd spent several feats on Benefit (Wealth).  Not using the Wealth rules allowed him to redistribute those elsewhere.

Hmm. . .I am interested, but my idea was a male porn star whose most famous character is a private eye who suddenly has genuine psychic abilities- mostly sensory ones like precognition, clairvoyance, et cetera.

So I gotta think of something else.

BACKGROUND

Sarah Steele was a brilliant young prodigy, the likes of which had been seen in a hundred years. Not necessarily because she was cleverer than her peers - but because of determination to study many different fields in great depth. She devoured the sciences, and after getting her Doctorates (three simultaneously) ended up getting many grants to fund her cross discipline research. And she delivered, giving new discoveries in biochemistry, human cell replacement and adaptive polymers.

Yet, eventually, her research hit a wall. She needed a human test subject, and permission wouldn't be granted until much, much more testing had been done. Decades of testing. More testing than she had patience for. So, late at night, she applied her new cell regenerators to herself. That's when the accident happened. And that's when Sarah Steele's new life began.

PERSONALITY

Aggressive yet compassionate. Sarah sees her new body as a way to explore science in ways others haven't even thought of. Plus, there's this whole super-hero thing going on. And she's a big enough nerd to admit, the idea of being special in an obvious way interests her.

TheVillain

. . .The Goggles? They do something?

Oh, Idea.

Codename: Slip

A small time thief who was part of a crew he got caught and went to prison, then developed the ability to teleport. Using it to escape and rejoin his old crew, he discovers that when he's not around they are murderous psychopaths and rapists who only keep it toned down in his presence because he's their best actual thief. Using his powers to take them down- witnesses think he's a new superhero while unaware that his alter ego is a thief and prison escapee. Fortunately, he's kind of liking the idea of being the good guy- and he never was a violent criminal in the first place.

What do you think?

Sounds Interesting... thing is how good a 'porter can you squeeze out of PL6.. Like the Doc too.. but she needs some of the stuff better defined in the power section.

TheVillain

Considering that rank only really effects the range of a teleporter- and you can stack power feats on it like mad, I imagine actually a pretty good one if you don't mind the comparably short range.

Woo! One in favor.

<looks over the rules>

True..... And by the way Doc, add a fedora and you got the classic adventuring scientist look (Indy Jones, Gina Diggers, ect)

TheGlyphstone

I'm currently looking for a way to be able to Mind Control multiple people.
- There's the Split Attack power feat, allowing me to attempt two or three controls simultaneously. at a lower power level.
-However, there's also the Power Extra of Duration, which would increase the duration of the control from Concentration (Lasting) to Sustained (Lasting). If this is legal, it'd let me mind control one target, then keep control over them until they break free or until I'm unable to take free actions, while spending further turns to pick up new controllees?

Heh. The spreadsheet I used to build the character appears to have left out all the numbers for the BB code copy paste.

Here's the actual version

Density 6 [Drawback, Permanent - 17pp]
The Goggles - Device 2 (Easy to lose) 6 pp. [Infravision 1pp, Counter Concealment 2pp, Analytical 2pp, Telescopic (x100 view range) 2pp, Datalink 4 (Medium - Cellphone Networks. Flawed Access Internet only) 2pp. Alternate Power (on Datalink) - 1x Variable Power Point (Only Skill Points)]
Immunity 3 [Cold, Fire, Pressure - 3 pp]
Quickness 2 [Flawed - Limited to Mental Tasks - 1pp]

Adds up to 27pp. Which looks dead on line. I'll

Callie Del Noire

Ooo.. your character needs to sooo patent that. :D

Hmm.. I dunno. that sounds tricky and expensive. That is the twist on the PL we're at.

::) Just because the game says you can have infinite free actions doesn't mean I'll allow you infinite Sustained powers.  Break the game and I will break you.

Yeah. A GM saying "yes, you could build that power. But no, I will not allow it in my game" is a big part of any successful superhero rpg.
