Hello all,

I am so looking forward to joining and participating I just wondered how long the approval was taking, as it has been over a week now, and not sure if this is normal or i have been forgotton (aahhh poor me!)

Hey there jamest!

First of all, let me say that you have not been forgotten - please don't worry about that.  Each application is considered and none are ignored. 

Applications typically take between 24 hours and one week for a decision to be made but this is only a rough guideline.  Each application is considered individually and the time until that decision is made is influenced by many factors.  Also, currently there are a large number of applications which may cause delays beyond this timeline for various reasons.

Keep on being patient and never despair - a decision will be advised in your introduction thread once it has been made.

It might be helpful to point people to this thread - https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=27105.0 - which states a minimum of 24 hours and minimum posting requirement.

Since it seems we get at least one of these "Approval Time" threads every couple weeks, perhaps that thread should be updated to say something like "it takes at least 24 hours, but could take longer depending on a variety of factors".
