Conan D20

A seemingly long time ago I had read over the rules of the D20 Conan game and I quiet like them. Unfortunately I never really got to play the game or ever got to play much in the setting even though I love the setting as well as the system

I am looking for a DM willing to run a game with the D20 Conan rules based in the setting, I am not a setting fanatic I just like it so I am not asking for any kind of book accuracy.

I would really love a  game with a small party, so if anybody feels up to it please contact me :)

That would be so great!  I'll admit that I don't know the actual Conan RPG well and would personally prefer a rules-lite type game but I'd go along with whatever everyone else wants.

Hmm Well all I have in the way of Conan is d20, witch I actualy quiet love since it has a lot of well done things.

Mongoose's Conan 2e is the D20 game, but they added a few things in the core book, like the Temptress class, and a few more manoeuvres.  They also tightened up the rules.

Oh, I see I wasn’t aware. The 2e thing sort of miss led me :)

Well I would be very much interested, if you would be willing to run a game. I could tray to scare up a V2 book as mine seams to b the V1. I didn’t even see it was a Mongoose publishing book until I actually bothered to read the publisher print just now heh :p

Are the mechanical changes big, just in case I would not be able to say find a 2e book would my 1e be any help?

From what I can tell, the changes from 1e to 2e are on the scale of Dungeons and Dragons 3e to 3.5.

Tightening up of the rules, clarification of certain points, addition of others, including the Temptress class.

But the BIGGEST change was the rewriting of the Sorcery system.  They made some changes, added others, and generally cleaned up from the mess it was in 1e.

Honestly, the Conan game is exactly what I wanted D&D to be.  :P

Well, what would either of you like to have happen?

Well after looking trough the book again I would like to tray a Scholar, more a sorceress in this case is was thinking a Hyborian or Zingarian (kind of like Zingarian) Temptress 1/Scholar X I would prefer something like a lvl 5+ possibly lvl 6? Game so that everybody has space to make something unique both mechanically and back story vise.

As fir story vise I am not apposed to anything but if possible I would prefer soothing non stationary so something more along the lines of an adventure.

For me personally I think the search for some magic knowlage/ainchent library/magical figamajig could be interesting. I don’t much like long term rural adventures but don’t mind stays in towns and city’s if they have purpose

I hope that’s some help.

I would also love to have somebody ells maybe with some direct ties from the start to my character from any perspective player so that its not the typical. You meat in a tavern and because you all love each others looks so much you decide to stick together

Maybe my character could hire a couple of mercenaries for the task at hand or have a body guard played by a PC if interest is thair?

If in fact this is happening if you can somehow tolerate teaching someone thats never heard of it or has any books or anything, I'd love to learn and play. Can't learn enough games.

So...if you have room and whoever IS interested in running it can tolerate that, I'm here to play if you want me. Just thought to say.

Personally, the Temptress class interests me most.  Maybe combined with thief.  And I tend to stay true to my blond roots so I'd probably be from Brythunia.

As for content, big brutish barbarians, evil dark sorcery, travel to exotic locales, I'm pretty flexible.

Hrm...  The problem kids is that Sword and Sorcery doesn't really work with large parties.  X-Men style gang ups on the baddies defeat the purpose/theme of the style of fantasy.  I feel, and this is just me, that S&S is best served when there are 1-3 players maximum.

And so far, Far Eyes and Lorelei have called it first.

Chris: I am flexible and fine with whatever group size you feel comfortable with.  That being said, if Far Eyes and I are both temptresses, we could probably use some big brutish barbarians to protect us  ;)

Hehe ya I think 3 might work if Chris is happy with that. I could probably go Scholar only (played more like a sorcerer)

If the roll is available, I'd be honored for a chance to play the muscle.  But I understand if things are too crowded.

What type of environments do people want to play in?  City or Wilderness, mix of both?

A mix would be cool, although I don’t mind an almost fully wilderness one either. Not much into fully city though

My stories are always stuck in Turan. 

If our charecter mix were difrent, I'd sugest a pirate story, perhaps looking for the lost noblewoman whom Conan never found.  (In Queen of the Black Coast?) 

Idel speculation for this group.  We need something with a good mix of city adventure and wilderness, I think. 

I'd like to know what our expected level of erotic content might be.  If we're goign fairly NC, it would be fun to play a barbarian who enjoys his enemies women and perhaps aspires to a harem.  Whereas if we're on a slighty tamer level, it might be fun to play a sheltered and idealistic Aquilonian Knight to be corupted by the outside world?  (Starting with the female PCs?)  And perhaps over time becoming like unto the original conept?

Well I would like something in the range of 6-8 after looking over all things considered; I would put the game in NC but more as to just have the option rather then with some purpose in mind.

Honestly though I would really be interested more in actually focusing more on the game, with sort of an if it happens it happens the occasional demon might have intentions but I would rather like for sex not to become the point of the game.

Oh and Mous, raping a sorcerer is a bad idea in this setting they can do some nasty things ;)
