As far as responses go: Go ahead and express your interest even if others have already; I'm going to go ahead and be picky and selfish this time around, so who I play with WILL NOT BE "First Come First Served." I'll be choosing from a number of factors: writing style, character (I don't need a full character sheet, just a general one-sentence description), and some other things. If you're interested, please go ahead and tell me what you have in mind. I want to keep my options open; since this is a story that I really want to go well, seeing's how it's failed twice before, I really want to pick and choose who I write with (no offense meant to those that I don't eventually pick).

Although this is listed in my 1-on-1 request thread, it's buried beneath a bunch of other threads on the first page. xD
Please don't be intimidated by the many details - it's a story I've already had established and have been wanting to try for a long time now. ;)

My ONs & OFFs and Active Roleplays (if you want a sample of my writing or my style).

Phoenix Rising :: Fantasy, Adventure; 3-player game
Categories include: Threesome (M/M/F), Bondage, Seduction, Oral... to begin with

The two countries of Morovia and Aladel had a long-lasting rivalry for as long as any of its inhabitants could remember; so long ago, in fact, that the cause of their conflict had been lost in the winds of time. Many centuries after the beginning of this strife, two kings ruled from the seats of each throne; King Daihkael of Aladel, and King Rudeain of Morovia. It was with them that war came in earnest - their lust for land and power had grown. Many smaller countries and small groups of people had been absorbed into each country, and now they sought the land of their sworn enemy.

In the midst of this war of mages and men, an alchemist was searching the old ruins of Lir'a'viis when he discovered an old, ancient tablet. He sought to decipher the ancient message inscripted in the stone - a difficult task, for the elements had worn it until the deep grooves in the stone were but shall cuttings. Laboring over his task, he finally uncovered an ancient prophecy: The Prophecy of the Light Phoenix. It told of six amulets that, when united, would allow its user to summon the Phoenix of Light, and be granted great power.

Power enough to destroy the world. Power enough to save it.

Thus each king assembled a group of Seekers - people with the skill and loyalty to find, then bring the six amulets to him, so HE could be the one to use its power.

And even while each group set out to find the first amulet, dozens of treasure hunters sprang up from all over each kingdom, seeking to find these amulets of great power. Each had their own purpose, be it riches or power, fame or knowledge - but their goals also coincided with those of the Seekers... and thus they became known as the Hunters.

Details;; First, I'd like to say that you shouldn't be intimidated by the amount of details. This is a story I've been spinning for a couple of years now. I'm also looking for pretty detailed, substantial posts - the range of posts I made in this story, were a pretty good size, though I'm okay with those that are longer as well.

For now I want to try this story as a threesome, myself (a female mage) and two male characters. My primary goal / reason I want to try this is because I've always wanted to try a three-way roleplay and a threesome. Our three characters comprise one group of Seekers, put together by the king to find the amulets. The other two characters can be anything from a prince (except the heir, of course), a trusted nobleman, a knight, a guard, etc... Weapons can be anything that doesn't include technology - swords, polearms, axes, projectiles, bow and arrow, assassin's tricks, and so on. Do remember that the king, or someone the king trusts, chose you to be in the group - no matter what, your intelligence and/or weapons expertise will be exceptional. Thus, while the three of us may or may not know each other personally, we'll definitely know of each other.

The setting is fantasy, primarily with the introduction of magic, magical creatures, and magical artifacts. I picture a place that's fairly rural except in the largest towns and ports; more advanced than a feudal society, but not quite at the level of a capitalist one. There is light industry and no advanced technology. Any technology comes about thanks to magic; for example, crystals that emit light when turned on due to stored magical energy, which can be used as a source of light. Main mode of transportation is the horse.

As far as the sexual area of this RP goes: like I said, I do want to do a threesome at one point. ;) I'm willing to stretch my limits a bit, while keeping it consensual. This can be discussed when players are selected.

Potential antagonists and conflicts: First for the antagonists - the other group of Seekers, which will be composed of people similar to us (one mage + 2 others), as well as treasure hunters. Wild monsters or magical beasts. The weather. Nature. Dangerous terrain. Conflicts: do your characters have some kind of antipathy towards wielders of magic? Feelings about the ongoing war? Going on a hunt to get some magical artifact so your king can have a powerful weapon to destroy his enemy? Eventually, do we decide that it might be better that this amulet not be found? What if the king thinks we've betrayed him - will he send assassins after us? And so on. Again, details and stuff can be discussed via PM.

This might turn out to be a bit involved, though I'm not worried about posting rate. One post every two or three days should be fine - it might start off a bit slow since school is beating me into the ground right now. It will be at turns serious, at turns filled with dry humor - those who write with me now know that I enjoy sudden plot twists and verbal battles between our characters.

Hrrm... if interested, please post here and contact me? If you also want more details, I can definitely do that too :]. Once the group has been fixed, we can talk at length about where we want this to go, what might be included, how to write NPCs into the story, etc.

I could be intrested, I thinked to play a wandering swordman type. Similar to http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/A681004 (the first article guy). But not complete copy either.

Tom

I may be interested in this one.

I'm not entirely comfortable with collaborative writing and total freeform. I'd prefer if at least one of the participants acted as a primary GM. As for my character I'm picturing a stonecold spymaster, rogue type. The one that does whatever his king orders him to do, without conscience. Cynical, ruthless, effective. But maybe he has a good heart somewhere deep down. Passion and love that can be awoken by the right individual...

Caeli

@Zaer: Er, you say that, but if you were a king, would you choose anyone but your most loyal subjects to go hunting for a powerful magical artifact for you? No offense meant, but a wandering swordsman (or a mercenary, if you want to put it that way) would likely never be a candidate, just because they're as likely to run away with the artifact than bring it back to someone they owe no allegiance to.

@Tom: At first I didn't think that would work, but after thinking about it I think it will. However, would the king be willing to let go of his palace spymaster for a quest, even one as significant as this? Just wondering. :]

Other than that though, I do have one qualm for length, that I want to nitpick about (I'm sure this makes me seem like a total bitch -_-) - in the beginning, at least, I'm looking for posts that will have some pretty significant detail to them. I'm asking this no in an offensive way, but I hope you two did recognize that I'm looking for a pretty involved roleplay in this.

Add: As for the GMing bit... I could probably do it, though I'd have to say right now that I have no experience, and I'd rather not. -sweatdrop- I'd definitely be willing to accept a GM as the third or even fourth player though - that said, the group  of Seekers can be a group of three OR four people, though no more or no less.

As for my character, I think the King definently would risk sending his spymaster on such an important mission. In fact, knowing that he is his most loyal and trusted subject, he would insist on sending him to ensure loyalty from the other hunters.

I know you have a thing for detail and length, Caeli. I usually adapt my style to the players I'm with. Some of my threads are detailed and long-winding, others are rapid series of single-paragraphs. For an example of the style I think you'd like, check out: https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=12651.0 where I've tried matching The Wolf's style of somewhat long posts.

In any case I think you should pick players based on what you would prefer, not who's first. Feel free to pick Silvestine if you like. I won't be offended if I'm not picked.

As for the GMing thing...I'm not sure what way would be the best way to arrange this if you're not interested in doing it yourself, since this is mostly your concept and story. Maybe a GM'less total freeform environment would be the best after all...?

Caeli

I'll make sure to take a look-see when I have more time to appreciate :D

Nice response for the character, by the way. Very good point, and certainly very plausible from my way of thinking.

As for GMing: Well... you have a point. I suppose I could always give it a try, since I am eventually planning to make this a larger game anyway. If that happens though, I'm going to be running around looking confused or doing stupid things, so I hope whoever I pick has patience and is willing to help. xDD

The latter was a slight experiment as far as style.

Connor O'Fearghail: A one time Mercenary and Treasure Hunter, recently employed by the King as his advisor on lost artifacts and seeker of lost treasure.  A childhood friend of one of the Princes, Connor has long been friendly with the Royal Family and has used his ties to gain access to records on lost cities and other such things.

Connor grew up as the only son of a powerful Noble. His tutor, as a child, had been a Collector of Ancient Things and had woven many tales about his 'younger' days to Connor. Connor was infactuated by such tales and his desire to learn more quickly aided him through his studies. Like any Nobles son, he was also trained in the ways of combat. Being of a similar age to one of the Princes, and growing up inside the Capital, he quickly became friends with the Royal Family, though his fathers position also aided in this closeness.

But Connor was no ordinary boy. He lived for adventure - like those in the tales his tutor had woven - and was always itching to leave the city. At the age of 16, an opportunity presented itself. He snuck away from his home and joined a Mercenary Company, paid to guard Trade Caravans, people who could afford to have bodyguards, and the like. Over the next 6 years he gained valuable experience as a Mercenary, both in leadership and in combat - along with what life was like outside of the Court.

One such mission was to escort a so-called 'Archaeologist' out into the wilds - where both man and beast would prove dangerous - in search of some lost treasure. Connor was fascinated by this, reminding him of his childhood tutor, and when they did find the treasure - small as it was - the sense of accomplishment was exhilarating. It would be the start of a career that would last 4 more years, hunting for treasure and lost cities, paid by Collectors to find lost artifacts and the like.

Word finally reached him of his ailing father and he returned to the Capital, the lost son now returned, to find his father on his death bed. It was at this time that one of the Princes approached him, speaking of the King and the need for a man, a man like Connor, to head the efforts of the Kings own Treasure Hunting (so to speak). Two more years passed in such a position, after his fathers death, until the present time.

Now, at the age of 28, with a lifetime of experience behind him, Connor is embarking on perhaps the greatest quest of his lifetime, and perhaps the only quest that will be woven into a tale worthy of 100 generations.

Well, I thinked that the guy what I had in mind is from local nobility where king rules and so is by paper loyal subject. But what makes him odd is that he lives like wanderer and is often irritating by standards of nobles (on purpose) while common folk like him. King knows he is skilled and loyal to his country and king in his own way.

Caeli

These are some great ideas. :]

And just so everyone knows, I won't be choosing for probably a good one or two weeks, depending on how many responses I get, and how much I have to study. >.>; If you saw my apology in A&A, school once again has me... well, swamped would be one way to put it.
