The beginning of College years is one of the most tumultuous times for many people's lives. It is a time of great change, and a time of great learning. Not just learning in the classroom, but real life experiances in real life time. Its a time of laughter and pain, stress and lightheartedness. Sometimes great friendships are built, others are sadly torn by the drifting of the sands of time through the hour glass.

This story revolves around two young women embarking on this journey, and the characters they meet along the way. For now they might not know just how much thier lives will entertwine, but soon surely they will become more aware as each passing moment brings them further into the web of Life.

It was said that college would be fun.  College would be where everything started, where everybody was cool and equal.  Party College was an oxymoron, at the least.  Alyssa thought so.  It seemed to be that everyone around her were doing great.  She, on the other hand, wasn't fitting in.  She'd thought about talking to her roommate several times.  As in high school, there were the popular people, bright and known to the world, as well as the losers, the ones nobody wanted to talk to.

Could one not understand their plight?  They only wanted to fit in.  In her little corner, Alyssa's chocolate eyes were watching nothing in particular.  Maybe she would ask that roommate...Lauren.  Lauren was her name.  Well, if she was around.  It was hard to find the same people twice on a campus.  They'd been there for a while, and, wearing skinny jeans with a The Ramones tee, one was still unpacking, setting down her laptop with the various accessories for her desk.  She wasn't at all expecting any excitement and drama in the weeks to come...

Lauren was one of those girls that just seemed to have everything together, atleast on the outside. Her blonde hair perfectly cut and shaped, her blue eyes wide and guileless. A creamy complexion that an imperfection would not dare mar, and all this on top of her apparent outgoing nature.

Stepping into her assigned room, the blonde nineteen year old almost sighed out loud when she realized her shy roommate was still in there. Alyssa was her name, Lauren thinks, really quiet, and really awkward. She felt kind of sorry for the other girl, she was pretty if she would just say something once in a while. Perhaps Alyssa just needs a bit of a prod. "Hey,...Alyssa wasn't it?" Lauren puts on her brightest smile as she closes the room towards the other girl as she sets up her computer amid various brick brack. "I have class in about fifteen minutes, but if your free later perhaps we can meet for coffee later?"

Just like Porky Pig from the Looney Tunes, Alyssa was choking on her own throat.  What was she supposed to say?  She hadn't even expected Lauren to respond.  Well, best just to take a dive then and there.
"Yes, yes, m-my name is Alyssa.  That would be great then, I'll catch you around." In a mousy mumble, the girl had given her reply, and was back to another box, fishing out a dragon figurine that had been painted in gold and red, bought in a Buddist Temple in Chinatown, New York.  As a native of that general area, she still had a bit of the accent.  It was actually "Noo Yawak".
With a red tint that would put a tomato to shame, she bit her lip hard, sucking in her lip ring that sat in the middle of it, a dash of silver in the full pink around that.  Not at all unusual.  Many students had them.
Was Lauren gone yet?
It didn't matter.  A phone buzzed within the pile of clothes on Alyssa's bed, as the pianist fingers with an array of lavender and tangerine polished nails found the Sidekick.  Everyone had an iPhone these days.  It was "cool and sophisticated". Everytime she saw one, her eyes rolled.
"Yes, hello?  Right, meet you there in five.  Yes.  Okay."
Even on the phone, Alyssa had no confidence, with her small voice.  She couldn't even look at Lauren twice.
