Pokemon Tabletop United [Interest Check]

One of my favorite RPG's of all time is Pokemon Tabletop United, and i've been wanting to bring the joys of PTU to Elliquiy for some time now. However, experience has taught me that PTU is a game best kept small in a PbP format, so i'd want six players at most - three portraying trainers and three portraying the main pokemon (or maybe all pokemon if the player so desires) of that trainer. Characters would be brand-new trainers (16 years old minimum, I always thought it was bizarre that ten-year olds were allowed to roam around alone with deadly supermonsters) receiving their first pokemon and heading out on their careers as trainers. To allow for faster advancement and deeper roleplay drama, there will be long stretches of downtime between each season during which the PC's return to their normal lives (School, jobs, college, whatever it is they do) .

Smut content will be 'if it happens, it happens', but I do like my smut and my pokemon in combination, so it is very likely to happen. It will most likely be run in the Extreme section for this reason.

Only the PTU corebook and Pokedex will be in general use, though I may allow material from the supplements on a case-by-case basis.

Anyone interested, please do post interest and pitch me character concepts. tell me what region you'd like to adventure in, as i'll be using a canon region simply because it reduces the amount of work I have to do. if I can get a group from the same town or somehow similarly connected, that'd be great.

Giving tentative interest for this. Not familiar with the system, though, so I'll have to read up on it. Also, will any possible M-rated content happen exclusively between trainers, or will  it involve  anthropomorphic versions of pokemon?

I wasn't leaning toward anthropomorphic mon per se`, although that would be fairly easy to do, and i'm not opposed to it depending on player preference. It would certainly make it easier on the Mon players if we went that route.

I'm keen to play a Pokémon, whether it's as an athro-version or a regular one, I'm also happy to discuss with my trainer as to which Pokémon I am :)

Then is that two votes for anthro? If it seems like i'm getting a lot of people wanting to play mon and no/few trainers, i'll just make a trainer myself, haha. Since it's pokemon and trainers don't do much except a lot of yelling at their mon, most of the action can actually be left to the mon to take care of.

Yep, seems like you've got to Anthro-Pokémon players, heck you could play the trainer and we could all be Pokémon, it would make sure the campaign's progression has a lot of focus, with only a single trainer NPC determining where we travel to XD

Hell, you know what? that's a way better idea than the one I had, and it makes character creation for you guys much easier. More focused story, lots of mon interaction, and so on. And if someone else wants to join as a trainer later, I wouldn't be opposed to it. Figure out your mon, you two, and i'll come up with a trainer that fits and help with the statistics side of it.

-Starting Stage (Baby/Base, 1st Evolution, 2nd Evolution)
-Multi-head (Girafarig) and/or Swarms (Exeggcute)
-Legendary/Mythical
-Shiny
-Banned types/species

As for restrictions on mon: Baby or base forms for starters, no evolved mon, no legendaries, Shiny is okay. No type or species is banned. Multi-head and other weird configurations are fine if you can find a way to make them work for you.

As a placeholder, I'll pick Eevee as it'll allow me to fill whatever Type void the team has; although this may change depending on the other players' choices  :-)

Aww, Eevee was my first choice too, since it gives the potential to become one of like 7 different things. xD

I do think it would be more interesting if there was more than one trainer, though... Plus the rulebook has plenty of Trainer Classes, and all of them actually do things.

Not every mon necssarily has to be played by a PC. The rest can be NPC'ed or run by the trainer for the most part.

All characters start at level 5 (if human) or 10 if a Pokemorph. Pokemon start at level 5..

A-okay. You know the system well enough to make your character and know my style too, so go ahead and get going, and post that sheet when you can. I'm going to make the threads for this game now. I think the region we'll be playing in is the Unova region.
