Joseph Hartley is a traveling salesmen. He has sold mops, brushes, pots, pans, encyclopedias, and more. Today he sells cleaning products to lonely house wives. He never fails to flatter or bring a smile out of the lonely ladies. A single man he just hasn't found "the right woman." In reality he refuses to marry because he does have a love: fire. Nothing pleases or excites him more than to watch a building burn to the ground.
