andom (ghostbusters 1984; 1989)

the grass is growing unevenly

(inspired in part by: black mirror, the stanley parable, the general concept of the sims)

themes: control, creator v. creation, virtual worlds,
the delusions we shroud ourselves in to be safe, self-discovery,
shades of the '50s

seeking: either m or f muse

plot: our male muse, the manipulative, highly intelligent, and exacting creator of a personalized digital fantasy world and our female muse, the manufactured companion designed to be just smart enough to wiggle under his thumb, but never break free investigate why small, natural-seeming inconsistencies and variances are beginning to crop up in their perfect paradise. the lawn is beginning to grow in unevenly, the martinis taste a little harsh, and things just aren't lining up right.

save me from myself
a.k.a, 'solar watched an m. night shyamalan movie & is making it everyone's problem'

(inspired (vaguely) by: trap (2024))

themes: corruption of the not-all-that innocent, manipulation,
first times (of many varieties), a very willing unwilling accomplice

seeking: m muse

plot: a seemingly-normal suburban man by day, increasingly prolific serial killer by night begins to pine for an accomplice and bedmate. no, of course his wife won't donever let the two lives touch, right? by chance, he encounters a highly intelligent, though directionless and nearly-apathetic fresh college dropout. a young, impressionable mind is a terrible thing to waste by not mentoring into a killer, right?

the lighthouse
this is odd and specific and self-indulgent, but i'm putting it out there!

themes: looking at the man in the mirror, parallel timelines,
confessions of things that may have been left unsaid, "show me i am still here"

seeking: egon spengler and ray stantz --
would be happy to double/parallel-play as one or both for your own plot.
writing duos welcome!

plot: during their first field experience, the team's newest addition, a reluctant, somewhat buttoned-up research assistant is mistaken for the lost lover of the spirits haunting an abandoned lighthouse. among all the other general problems with getting interdimensionally kidnapped, the spirits who've done this are looking and acting more than eerily familiar. and are getting a bit too familiar.
