Seeking GM and Players for a Cyberpunk/Fairytale Hybrid Campaign: Fables of Night City
“Yesterday’s body count is today’s lottery.”
Inspired by The Wolf Among Us video game and the Fables graphic novels that inspired it, this campaign reimagines the timeless archetypes of fairytales and folklore in the neon-soaked dystopia of Night City—a place where dreams are bought and sold, where yesterday’s body count fuels today’s lottery prizes, and where you’re just as likely to catch a bullet as you are a break.
Here, the echoes of legendary figures are reincarnated and reshaped by the brutal realities of Cyberpunk. These aren’t the heroes and villains of old—they’re survivors, rebels, and outcasts, struggling to carve out their place in a world where survival is far from guaranteed.
Imagine the Big Bad Wolf as a hardened solo prowling the city’s dark alleys, Rapunzel as a netrunner unraveling the digital towers of the megacorps, or Cinderella as a fixer building a network of Edgerunners to reclaim her piece of the dream. Each character embodies the essence of an archetype, adapting it to the chaos of Night City while wrestling with the weight of their inherited destiny.

The Pitch
This campaign blends the gritty intrigue of Cyberpunk with the layered symbolism of fairytales. Characters aren’t the original fables but their spiritual successors—reincarnations of archetypes thrust into a world of chrome, neon, and constant peril. Their stories are their own, yet the echoes of their past selves shape their choices as they fight for freedom in a city that offers none.

What I’m Looking For
  • A GM who loves the narrative depth of The Wolf Among Us and Fables and is excited to craft a tale of fairytale archetypes reborn in a Cyberpunk world.
  • Players eager to reinterpret legendary archetypes, creating layered characters that explore the intersection of myth and survival.
  • A group committed to story-driven gameplay, moral ambiguity, and high-stakes action.

System
The campaign will use either Cyberpunk 2020 or Cyberpunk Red, depending on the GM’s preference.

Themes
  • Reinvention and Legacy: What does it mean to embody an archetype while forging your own destiny?
  • Mystery and Intrigue: Uncover the hidden threads of the past while navigating the chaos of the present.
  • Survival and Sacrifice: Freedom isn’t free, and every choice carries a price in the deadly streets of Night City.

LGBTQ+ Friendly
This campaign welcomes all players and identities. However, to keep the focus on the game, we kindly ask that real-life issues and discussions remain outside the game space. Let’s ensure a fun, immersive, and respectful environment for everyone.
If You’re Interested
If you’re ready to dive into a story where myths are reborn in chrome and neon, reply here or PM me! Together, we’ll explore what it means to carry the weight of a legacy in a city where survival is the only rule.

Character Concept: “These Lips Are Sealed”
In the glittering chaos of Night City, she is a study in contradictions: poised yet naive, resourceful yet bound. A Japanese transgender woman, she is the estranged daughter of a powerful corpo exec who cast her out yet refuses to truly let her go. Around her neck sits a sleek, unassuming choker—a deadly leash designed to keep her tethered to her father’s will. When questioned about it or her past, her answer is always the same, her voice steady but tinged with quiet sorrow: “These lips are sealed.”  Or if she is speaking Japanese "Kono kuchibiru wa chinmoku o mamotte iru."
Now navigating the streets of Night City, she dreams of carving out her own path, using her budding skills as a Techie and Netrunner to break free from her father’s control. Fascinated by both the tangible and digital, her nimble fingers excel at repairing drones, decrypting firewalls, and salvaging tech from the city’s underbelly.
Despite her talent, her sheltered upbringing leaves her unprepared for the dangers of the streets. Her naivety shines through in her earnest desire for freedom, unaware of the steep price that Night City often demands. To her, the city is a place of infinite possibilities—but in reality, its promises are as deadly as its shadows.
Archetype Inspiration: The Girl with the Pink Ribbon
