Character Name:  Adamant Jade
Age: 23
Exalt Type and Caste: No Moon Lunar
Gender and Orientation: Male/Pan
Background:
·       Third son of a village Elder he was sent off to the capital in an attempt to get experience in the city and make something of himself as he would not get anything from his parents.
·       He has spent about 1/2 of his life in the capital now after getting a small secretarial position.
·       His mentor Laughing Tortoise a notable minister took him under their wing, instructing them in the ways of court and martial arts.
·       He was on his way to earning a court position when he was instead selected to be a selected tribute from his family so they wouldn’t lose their eldest and losing his shot at getting a ministerial or scholar position. He is not happy at all about once more being forced to give up his desires and life for his family and siblings, angry at being made to do this again by the empire.  
·      With all these changes his goal has changed again, he is going to claw his way to the top, either to reform it or at the very least make sure that nobody can completely ignore him again.

Physical Description:
Personality: Ambitious, driven, and while they might have a pleasant demeanor they will do what they can to increase their position. Tired of being passed over and his chance for advancement denied he will claw his way up another way if he has to whether through reforming the kingdom or finding out another way to advance.  He has no problem being the center of attention when he needs to be. He’s a firm believer that even if plans need to be made behind the scenes, there’s some things one can do only when standing in the front. Straight forward, charismatic, and willing to withstand whatever troubles get in his way, he’ll move forward one way or another like a force of nature.

Understandable Anubis, I know that feeling all too well. Currently we have Ava with Jade and Hairy with Jia.

 Pumpkin, don't feel like you have to drop out entirely.... the concept would just need to change a bit to fit a mortal.

Rashol I'd prefer if we have that figured out beforehand to keep things going smoothly. However, if you don't feel like you have a caste idea nailed down at the moment we can work on something.

So what way would character creation work here? I know 2nd ed has rules for creating mortals and then upgrading them. I haven't read the 3rd ed rules enough to know if it does too.

Apologies, been distracted by things....

CC rules for mortals are on page 125 of the CB. There's a lot less steps than for an Exalt, mechanically you only have attributes, abilities, merits, and derived stats.

I know Ava is still around and Joanie is tentatively interested. I can run with 3..... I'm going to set up an OOC Monday and set the date for character creation finishing next Friday.

Which category would people feel comfortable with? I'm leaning towards extreme just to cover anything that could pop up, at a minimum this would be under non-con inhuman.

I doubt I'd go any higher than Bon myself, but I'm okay if people want something more.
