It's been a while!

Hello! I'm Scott(y). I used to be quite active on Elliquiy, but life got in the way, I suffered a massive bereavement, and I fell out of roleplaying for a bit. I'm just starting back up again, with new interests, and a million and one different ideas I want to try out. I'll outline a few of the more detailed plot cravings below, but if you think you'd be a good match writing-wise and you have another idea you'd like to propose, my inbox is always open!

I am a bit of history nerd, and while my 'era of interest' has varied over the years, my current obsession is 1920s-1940s Europe, specifically Germany. If the Weimar Republic, KPD vs NSDAP vs SDP struggles, the rise of Nazism, and WWII is your thing, then we should definitely talk, because I love info-dumping and finding like minded people. This is, however, an obligatory warning that I am not Nazi-friendly, and real life fascists are welcome to fuck off.

I'm 27M and live in the UK. I have a very taxing job, but writing and chatting about plots and history is how I like to wind down, and I've not been doing enough of it lately. I will pretty much always make time for writing. Gimme them words, I crave them.

I only write MxM as a main pairing. I don't care if the writer is male or female or anywhere in between or outside of this spectrum. I'm happy writing MxF and FxF on the side/background.

I love realistic characters! I like to think I put a lot of effort into the characters I create and write, and I love to become invested in my writing partners' creations too. I hate mandatory top/bottom roles, and although have a slight preference for writing sub characters, I am just as comfortable writing switches, doms, service tops etc. Basically, I like the characters to figure out the dynamic by themselves, so I try to go into things open minded and let things settle naturally through writing. I don't like writing against characters that are porn or yaoi tropes e.g. futas, traps, femboys, ukes/semes, twinks, bears.

I strongly prefer that all characters and my writing partners are 21+. I will make very few exceptions for this.

I am happy writing on Elliquiy or on Discord - but I am more active on the latter when it comes to chatting.

SPECIFIC PLOTS

SOMEBODY THAT I USED TO KNOW
Friends/lovers, to enemies (and back again?)

Characters A & B are political opposites - and yet despite their differences and perhaps a rocky start, they find a kinship in each other and eventual romance. Something causes them to separate on a bad note - an argument they cannot reconcile, the outbreak of war, having to move away, one being arrested - and it is several years when they reunite. Their reunion is fraught, full of animosity, and they yet again find themselves as enemies, but that old flame never truly went away, and now it's rekindling with a burning passion. Can they make it work this time around?

Originally I had envisioned this plot being set in 1930s Germany, with a communist x national-socialist flavour, and this is still my preference. Open to other interpretations, however.

The characters can start as friends (or lovers), then drift apart as they become polarised ideologically, or start off not knowing that the other is 'on the other team' initially, or just straight away be opponents who eventually find common ground.

✠ Bonus points: Their reason for separation is that one betrays the other and leads to his arrest - cue resentment.  /// Their reunion is due to one becoming a prisoner of the other, be that as a PoW or under arrest. //  Could be combined with the plot above, with one be tasked with spying on the other.


BABYLON BERLIN
Prostitute/Criminal x Police

Based a little off of the TV series (and novels) of the same name. Set in Berlin, during the Weimar Republic. Character A is having to sell sex to keep a roof over his head (and/or dabbling in other crime). If life on the streets wasn't dangerous enough already, there has recently been an uptick in the number of violent crimes against a demographic he is part of (whether this is (male) prostitutes, queer men, or an ethnic minority/different nationality). When someone close to him is the next victim, Character A is the one to call it in. Character B is one of the police that shows up to investigate and interview him. The two of them become unlikely friends, with Character A becoming an unwitting informant for the police. Eventually, feelings develop - something neither of them had planned on, or are particularly thrilled about happening. Character B has to juggle his work and political views with his love for A, and A has to constantly battle the risks of being a police informant in his circle, as well as the risk of being the next target in the series of crimes. On top of this, the country is about to be thrown into political turmoil, with the Great Depression and a new war looming...

✠ Variations: The crimes are being committed by the Sturmabteilung, which Character B is a member of - getting to know Character A makes him question his political beliefs, and eventually have to consider which he values more: his comrades or his lover.

I am happy to play either character in this scenario.

HEAVEN IS A PLACE ON EARTH
The MLM version of 'San Junipero'

A plot shamelessly lifted from my favourite Black Mirror episode: San Junipero. Video - spoiler warning for episode.

The concept: in a not-too-distant future, the metaverse/cloud/online VR technology - whatever you want to call it - has advanced far enough that many people live second lives in a hyper-realistic simulated online environment. A person's consciousness can be entirely transferred to 'the cloud' upon their death, should they wish. People can choose the environment they wish to exist in, customise their online appearance, and so on.

Character A and Character B meet in this online environment, and immediately hit it off, though both characters are very reluctant to make their relationship a thing 'in real life'.

There are multiple reasons for why this could be, and I am happy to explore any/all of them:

✠ One of the characters is already deceased, and so only exists in the cloud
✠ Like in San Junipero, one of the characters is in a coma, and so their only real way of interacting is through the online environment
✠ One of the characters is very much not like how they present themselves online: they have a less than sterile past/they are a different gender/they are in prison/etc etc
✠ One of the characters has a terminal illness, and isn't sure if they want to 'upload to the cloud' when they pass away
✠ One/both of the characters actually has a family in the real world, albeit one they don't see/get along with
✠ In a dystopian future, same sex relationships are no longer permitted, so it is not something they could ever realistically pursue
✠ While they have avoided discussing it directly, there are subtle hints that both characters belong to opposing political beliefs/opposite sides in an ongoing war
✠ There is a significant age difference (although both still 21+), such that neither believes the attraction would hold in reality

I absolutely love the 1980s aesthetic and setting, especially if our characters are older IRL and the 1980s is nostalgic for them as their youth. But, as in the show, I'm happy for our characters to bounce between various time period servers. They could go to a regency ball. They could slow dance to 1940s jazz. They could go to a never-ending simulation of the original Woodstock festival. Possibilities are kind of endless.

Quick note

I may be a little picky on who I write this with, and how, chiefly because I am very sentimental about this particular episode of Black Mirror. Like the episode: the story should have an uplifting ending. I'm not always all about that happily-ever-after, but for this, I want it. In fucking bucketloads.

WWII Occult Shenanigans

This is not such a hard and fast plot so much as a vague idea inspired by the likes of the Sleepy Hollow and Supernatural TV series, a little of Raiders of the Lost Ark, and heavily influenced by the Wolfenstein games especially. Character A is investigating the occult activities of the Nazis during WWII, and comes to find out that not only are the rumours very, very true, but they have potentially unleashed something they are not going to be able to control, and may have devastating effects on the world at large. I'm talking waking the dead, curses, holy grails, portals to Hell, demons, possessions, ancient tomes, all with flavours of European and religious folk-lore and mythology. Character B can be either a fellow spy, someone who helps Character A with their knowledge of the occult, or one of the Nazis that is involved in the esoteric activities, who may or may not have realised that they're all in over their head.

✠ Variations: Open to this being a little more light-hearted, or extremely dark on the horror elements. Don't mind how heavily you want to lean into the Wolfenstein lore as well - if you are familiar with the setting and want us to use elements from it, I'm down!

I am happy to play either character in this scenario.

Money, and the affection they've bought

Character A is a well to-do hedonist. Not necessarily high nobility or royalty level, but certainly aristocracy, landed gentry, and the military elite. Think Sound of Music's von Trapp family, the Crawleys from Downton Abbey, and the Cattons in Saltburn. Which are, admittedly, loose influences for this plotline.

Whether Character A is a self-made man, or from a long line of old money, he is nonetheless expected to adhere to the social norms of his time (1910s-1940s) and find himself a nice bride. Character A has no intention of doing such a thing, and instead finds something more suitable to his personal tastes: a down on his luck man that he can take care of, Character B. While initially the both of them are under no illusion that the relationship is based solely on anything other than a financial basis, they do eventually begin to develop true affection for each other.

This is somewhat less angsty than my other plot ideas, as a general premise, but there's no reason we can't throw little dramas in (see bonus points). Character A's sole enjoyment comes from spoiling and taking care of Character B, and knowing that he is sticking a finger up to what is expected of him, while Character B is comfortable in the knowledge that he is financially secure for the first time in his life. I don't envision that this is something Character B is locked into - he can leave at any time, with no hard feelings, and Character A might even be inclined to give him a little something to help him on his way, but I am open to it developing a more Stockholm/Lima syndrome undertone if you so wish.

✠ Bonus points: The outbreak of WWI/WWII throws their relationship into turmoil. /// The Great Depression utterly ruins Character A, and his biggest fear throughout it all is that he is going to lose his lover because he lost his fortune. /// Character B has other wealthy men he provides companionship for/Character A has more than one man on the go - jealousy follows. /// As above - Character B feels trapped by a formal contractual agreement, but eventually does choose to stay of his own volition. /// Character A has a terminal condition, or Character B has a criminal past or a goal of stardom - something more pressing that is driving them to run headfirst into this setup.

I would prefer to play Character A in this scenario, although tentative preference.

WELTSCHMERZ - taken (pretty saturated on this one now, but possibly open for a Soviet target spin)

Your character is a high ranking political official or military commander, with one known Achille's heel - he's sweet on other men. Perhaps this is something that has previously been used to smear him in his career and he's 'risen above it', or otherwise it's a well guarded secret that has only just been discovered through intelligence conducted on him. My character is given the task of tailing YC, either to take him down by exposing him, or to get close to him in order to gain important tactical information. Regardless, it all starts going to pieces when they end up developing complicated feelings for each other.

✠ Bonus points: Both parties are becoming disillusioned by their fascist/communist regimes, and considering defecting.  ///  The target becomes aware of the spy's allegiance early on, but keeps quiet because of their fondness.  ///  Someone is a double agent.

My preference is for a WWII setting involving an SS or Soviet official, but could also suit the interwar period (less wartime spy, and more political opponents), or cold-war era (although I am admittedly less well versed in this). Also open to MC being the target instead.
