The think I've always found liberating about playing the character is that there isn't a whole lot about her.  She had a brief existence in the 616 universe, and became a fan favorite which spawned her role in AoA, which then lead to the Exiles.  She's a character that you can do a lot with and no one can really say "that isn't Blink".

concerning role in DoFP

Even this portrayal did more to showcase her powers than her personality.

Pumpkin Seeds

Yeah, I loved the look the actress brought to her but the producers really didn't give her a lot of actual material to work with in the movie.  I know some actors can just grab a role and run with it, like apparently Ryan Reynolds did with Wade Wilson, but don't think she had that chance.

Do you mind if I ask what subjects are already covered?

I have a few people in mind...

The Hulk (Banner)
Beast (McCoy)
Dr. Strange

I particularly enjoy the last option, there.

Other ideas will come to me, I'm sure.

Our accepted character thread is here:

Offhand there's quite a few mundane type classes open, and others could be doubled up on based on gradelevel, etc, so really most anything is available.

Of the 3 you mention -
We have She-Hulk and Hulkling, more Hulk might be a bit crowded :)
Beast is definitely open and would make a great teacher
Dr. Strange is also open, but would need some reworking as we don't really have his sort of magic here in play nor anything of his overall power level.

Hi, Spider.

Mr. Marmalade - If I go with Beast, is there anything I should keep in mind about altering history? Or can I pretty much stick with what is canon?

Mr. Marmalade - If I go with Beast, is there anything I should keep in mind about altering history? Or can I pretty much stick with what is canon?

There's a few things - None of the PCs are original X-Men, the school is only a few years old, and mutants are still relatively unknown and rare. So anything based around fighting crime and saving the world and teaching at the school will need to fit within that realm :) Basically think of this as kind of the start of the X-Men comics shoved into the future.

Alias

DONE, So excited!!

BASIC INFO:
Legal Name:Bridgett Annabelle Desjardins
Codename/Nickname/Aliases: ("Twins")
Citizenship and other legal info: Born In France. Raised near her birthplace in a small town called Guebwiller. She was born with dual citizenship in America and France, and often spent her summers in a different house on the coast of Oregon.
Place of Birth: Mulhouse, France.
Occupation: n/a
Education: Private schooling, barely any general studies, major focus on french and american literature. This will be her 2nd year at Xaviers, and she's about 1/3 of the way through accomplishing her current goals. Please see below.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 66 lbs.
Hair color: Black / dark brown (Bridgett colors her hair depending on her general mood, it's usually black, because of this.)
Eye color: Steel grey, light silver.
Gender: Female
Ethnicity: French (anglo saxin-french-italian)
Age: Seventeen
General Appearance: Bridgett is long and thin. Her breasts are very small, and her hips are narrow. She does have a womanly shape, she just appears to be stretched out. She looks as if she weighs about 120 lbs. She towers over most other women, and she often wears heels, making the effect more dramatic. Her muscle structure is weak, especially in her arms. Bridgett is kind of scary. She is naturally intimidating, and off-putting. It sort of looks like she's thinking about murder all of the time.

OTHER INFORMATION:
Orientation: Mostly Straight. But, also, Sort of twisted. You'll find out why if you keep reading (disadvantages-psychotic). Like 99% straight. The 1% toward woman. But only one woman, and it might be sort of off putting for players even. She has had three male partners. Only one of them was courageous enough to stick around for more than a week. He lasted three months before Bridgett scared him away.
Ons/Offs:
ONS- Sharing, kissing, blankets, fresh air, cigarettes, power outages
OFFS- nothing so far. She's a weirdo. And, sex is abstract to her in the first place. Nothing has ever been out of the question for Bridgett, in fact, she usually puts herself through much worse than any male partner has.
Goals: Bridgett wants ot have full control over power, especially since she has no idea what she actually capable of. She also wants to stay hidden from the public, and she wants to stop gaining pleasure from others fears. This has been a huge thing for her, and its the reason that she's come to the mansion. If Bridgett wanted to, she could be remarkably evil, and likely scare people to death, she could easily murder people, that's all I'm gonna say, and she's decided not to. Instead, she wants to make good use of her power, which is also why she wants to control it. It is sort of out of control, her first nature is to put everyone in a state of  unease, and intimidate every person into an uncomfortable place. After a year at the mansion, she's literally, starting to lighten up a little bit.
Wealth Level: 5 - Her parents are well off, and they know where she is at. They are not happy with their horror movie daughter, and getting rid of her as helped them alot. Bridgett knows this as well, and dealing with it is not exactly easy for her.
Personality: Bridgett likes to stay quiet, she enjoys watching people behave, as most things appear odd to her, staying out of them is more educating than trying to interject. Bridgetts first real friends are here at this school. And, they are coming along slowly. She had been amiable to other children before her powers had kicked in (see history). But, she had never liked them, and her parents heard a lot of complaining about her classmates that only grew darker and more disturbing as she aged. Her power gave her a bit of a mean streak, and controlling her became almost impossible. Her old personality was straight out of a horror movie, and keeping at bay takes most of her focus. Now, Bridgett does her best to keep things comfortable for those around her, but she sees a black lining around everything. People's intentions are always shaded on the selfish side to her. She doesn't trust easily, and death is always on the tip of her tongue. She's good at timing absurd jokes, making people react as offended as they are amused. Bridgett calls out other peoples bullshit, and she can usually do it without being offensive.

She's often snacking on something salty. Bridgett is a salt fiend, and she has a bit of an oral fixation. Potato chips, pretzels, nuts, etc. Her favorite thing in the world is kettle corn, and she is rarely caught without any on her person. Bridgett ultimately doesn't like people, but perhaps Xavier would be the only person that could truly know that. She has a number of contradicting layers. At first she seems off-putting, then she may seem friendly, then creepy, then inviting, then insulting, then some one may finally feel like they know her, and then she'll betray you just to make fun of you later; and so on. This bi-polar tendency has nothing to do with her mutation. Bridgett just doesn't truly enjoy other peoples company. She only knows that she is supposed to enjoy other peoples company. She makes her hatred for the human race as blunt as her love for her friends. She supports peoples dreams, and she also makes fun of them if they fail.

Bridgett is not always fun to be around.

SCHOOL INFO:
Classes Taken or Taught: General studies, advanced knowledge in American/French Literature, she has a number of collegiate level papers on classic novelists from each country. Her father was a writer, and most of Bridgett's youth involved, writing, reading, re-reading, and re-writing. So, Xaviers school is helping her catch up on other things that her father didn't press upon her, which would be everything else.
Year:  High School Senior
Club Memberships or Sponsorships: n/a

STATS:
Fighting: 01 (feeble) - Agility:03 (Typical) - Strength: 01 (feeble) - Endurance:04 (Good) Reason:02 (poor) - Intuition: 07 (incredible) - Psyche: 04 (good)

POWERS: Bird Body, Bird Brain

EMPATHY 'CROW THOUGHT' - There are three aspects to this: Sensing emotions, projecting emotions, and at a peak level that Bridgett is still learning, physical transformation. Think of Bridgett like a broadcast tower of emotional frequencies. She can feel other peoples frequencies, and she can broadcast certain feelings while she actually feels something entirely different. Bridgett can put a sense of fear in the air, or anxiety. She often projects her 'psychotic' frequency to keep people away from her. Bridgett is not sure if she can project positive emotions on people. She has never tried to do it before. The advanced level, the physical manifestation of this power, is that Bridgett's physical appearance can change, and appear in one of four ways: Bridgett looks like a walking scarecrow, Bridgett looks like a girl with the horrifying aspect of a dead Crow, Bridgett is ghostlike and transparent, & Bridgett creates a duplicate of herself.

While sensing other people's thoughs, Bridgett cannot hear what they are thinking, she can only distinguish them if she knows them, and even if she knows them, she can only distinguish their mood, and emotions.  Bridgett cannot put words or ideas into peoples heads, she cannot create illusions, or make some one see something that is not there. She cannot hear peoples thoughts, but if some one says that they feel like they are having a wonderful day, when they are clearly not having one. She can tell.

While projecting fake emotions outward, Bridgett is fairly creative. She uses this to keep people away from her personal space and her personal thoughts. Bridgett loves to make people wig out, even though, shes trying to stop.

further notes- Her body, in every respect, does physically change when she projects her emotions to an intense volume. The emotion that she projects takes over the physical form of her body, and morphs her into a different shape. When she turns it back down, she morphs back into her regular self. It is entirely painless, she cannot feel it. But, if Bridgett were to look into a mirror while projecting her 'Crow Thought' this loudly, she would see the horrific image, not her own face.  It is always easiest to do this from a distance. Across a field, or from an upstairs window, or at the end of a hall. It was fairly easy to make regular humans think that a fallen angel had come to collect them, or that a ghost had appeared in their bedroom. Bridgette has a number of monsters that she can become, her favorite is the crow monster. These monsters have absolutely no effect on her inner skeleton, so all of them are humanoid, and they cannot help her fight.

She can also tune her 'frequency' down and blend into a crowd with ease. Regular people could look right at her, and just kind of not care, or notice, or even remember her face when they turned around. (Jubillee contains this power to some degree, allowing her to live in a mall for years without ever drawing undo attention.)

DUPLICATION - The Ability to make a single copy of herself. (Sort of like Multiple Man's 'Dupes'). Bridgett can only make one. Her Duplicate canNOT create its own duplicate. But her Duplicate is alive, with it's own identity, and, conceivably its own dreams and wishes. Bridgette calls her duplicate 'Beta', 'Her', and 'Bridge'. Her Beta calls herself by the same terms.

Bridge and Bridgette do not have a mind meld. Bridge is just a regular girl with only one mutation; Bridgett's physical body. Bridge has no ability to project different emotions, and she cannot feel other peoples presence the way that Bridgett can. If Bridgette and Bridge are both in existence, it makes Bridgettes crow thought limited. Her physical appearance is not modifiable, and her reciever is less sensitive to others emotions, and others' presences.

If Beta is harmed or killed Bridgett Alpha feels no pain, or loss, Bridgett can not magically tell that Beta is dead, although, this has never happened. If it were to happen, Bridgett would be able to immediately 'Dupe' out another Beta the moment that her previous duplicate is dead.

Both Bridge and Bridgett can move around independently of each other. Bridgett Alpha can absorb her duplicate whenever she wants. When the two of them merge into one again, Bridgett will retain all of the memories and life experiences that the duplicate had experienced before she ceased to exist. However, she will also absorb any damage or harm done to the duplicate in the process. That is COMPLETELY. If Bridgett were to absorb a duplicate without a left hand, Bridgett would no longer have a left hand, that is forever.

So, far, Bridgett has only collected some disturbing memories and a few scars from her Beta, which as far as she knows, is the only one. She does not have a missing limb or damaged organs. The duplicate is capable of digesting, and eating food. However, she does not need to. Bridgett does eat constantly, implying that perhaps when Bridge melds back in, her empty stomach is also embraced by Bridgett's body.

ADVANTAGES:

ENERGY - Bridgett doesn't really get exhausted, or sweat. This has everything to do with her mutated body. She breathes at an incredibly fast rate, but never in a panic or in a hyperventilating way, sort of the way a bird breathes. Her body temperature changes dramatically, but it never changes how comfortable or uncomfortable she is.

DISADVANTAGES:

ANATOMICALLY WRONG -  Calm down, Bridgett has a vagina. But, Bridgett only weighs 66 lbs. That was not a typo up there. And that's just the beginning. Bridgett's bones are not bones. When she stands up straight, or runs, or jumps, or does anything that supports her own weightless-like self, her bones are fine. They feel hard, they feel good, and solid. However, when stressed, her bones are flexible, and difficult to damage. There is something to the structure of her DNA that changed the consistency of her skeleton. Her bones aren't bones, and their not cartilage. It is painful when her bones do 'bend', but her body is built for it, and, the feeling passes quickly. Her joints, and places on her body that should be cartilage, are also made of this mysterious plastic-like bone material. She appears to be normal until some one starts to bend her. Needless, to say, she's never had any bones broken. More over, Bridgett bruises incredibly easily, and the bruises are always black, as if there is oil in her bloodstream.

Bridgett is unbelievably flexible, and her tendons stretch like rubber bands. She is also slightly anemic, and her blood has difficulty clotting. Open wounds can lead to excessive bleeding, and she is more susceptible to bleeding out than a regular human would be. But it's difficult to cut her, her bones are not hard enough to cause serious laceration, she is genetically designed to bruise easily, and painlessly. All of this does, in fact, make her brain rather vulnerable. So, if she were ever to be in a fight, a hard shell helmet would be a required safety precaution. This bendy bird body is the only part of her mutation that has been with her her since birth, and its the main reason her parents home schooled her; to keep her safe from head trauma.

VIRTUALLY PSYCHOTIC -Bridgett is more than one sandwich short of a full picnic basket. She rarely uses her Duplicate to do anything productive. She writes in a number of black and white composition notebooks, and then never lets anyone read them, for good reason, almost every page is littered with brutal murder scenes and bloody violence. It was mentioned that her duplicate never does anything productive. The two of them love to smoke cigarettes together. And they are often cuddling together in order to pass the time. She shares secrets with herself as if the other version of herself isn't going to know what she had just said.

CROWS FIGHTING SPIRIT - She has no idea how to throw a punch or take one. So, if Bridgett gets into a fight, she feels a lot pain, but sustains no permanent damage due to her gumby body. However, she could easily be knocked out of the equation with a single punch.

BLOOD DISEASE - Bridgett is a very bad bleeder, and a small cut can cause her to lose a lot of blood. A large wound could easily kill her.

EXTREMELY PESSIMISTIC - Bridgett is a coward. She is harshly afraid of dying (again- see below), and she always believes that the worst will always come to fruition. Bridgett would rather hide in a closet and turn down her empathy frequency than stand in the middle of a fight, back to back with her duplicate swing blades or large hammers.

CROW STRENGTH - Bridgett's muscles do not move a lot of weight around. It's a strain for her to pick up an industrial sized bottle of shampoo, or a laptop computer. She also removes herself from any kind of training regiment, so she doesn't have the will to become stronger either. In her rational, she would need to be a massive body builder just to be able to help somebody move out of their house, it's not worth it, shes fine being as weak as a seven year old child.

SKILLS:

Tennis: -This is the one sport that Bridgett is good at, and her mother made sure that she knew how to play, Bridgette tried ballet as well, but she was too flexible and it scared the other children. As Bridgett got older she started to enjoy this game a lot more, because she could feel when her opponent was getting tired, or frustrated, or confident, or worried, or anxious. Also, she can play with her duplicate, which has done tons for her game, practice has ramped up big time since the age of fifteen. Tennis is the most normal thing that Bridgett is good at.

Piano: - Bridgett was trained to play the instrument from the age of four to the age of fiteen by an expensive professional, and she two of her own fine french pieces, one in her bedroom at home, and one in the study of her house in Oregon. Bridgett had always enjoyed playing, and again, her practice became more interesting and fruitful when her Duplicate could play the bass, and Bridgett could solo on the treble keys.

Multi-tasking: - Need I say much more? Bridge can do Psychology homework, while Bridgett learns a new song on the piano, afterward, they can meld together, Bridgett learns what Bridge had learned, and then her bread in the oven can finish cooking from when the two of them had done some baking earlier. Finally, Bridgett can go out and get dinner for the two of them while Bridge cleans the house.

Possible medium: - Bridgett claims that she can speak to the dead. This is possible because she also claims that she can speak to crows, and ravens. In her mind, these birds carry the messages of the dead. She does not squawk at them, but they do squawk at her. It is hard to argue with Bridgett, Crows, and Ravens do tend to collect around her, and will occasionally even ride on her shoulder. (Bridgett is not a medium, she's just convincing)

HISTORY:
Warning-Dark, you have been warned.

Bridgett came out of the womb with black skin. The doctors were confused, but they could tell that it was from bruising, after a week or so, the infants body turned peach, healed up, and she was a normal child.

Bridgett's home was always the same, a three story mansion with a lake house and a barn. An eleven acre field that grew grain and grapes, and two large forests to the north and south. The northern woods led to the lakehouse, and the southern woods were sprouted from a large creek that eventually fed into a river. Her parents could tell that she was a different girl from a young age. She was off-putting, and strange. She would complain constantly, and her obsession with death was not funny. One of her first words was 'die'. And, to top it all of, when she was three and a half years old, she'd still only weighed eleven pounds. Her parents took her to the doctors often, and everyone seemed stumped. She's healthy, she's never been hurt, she's been sick, and yeah, her internal clock seems to be on hyperdrive. Bridgett took 110 breathes a minute, almost four times the norm, and her heart beat was at 178 bpms. But her circulation was fine, she was getting plenty of oxygen into her blood stream, she never seemed to be panicked, and she was learning at a normal rate.

She was still diagnosed with a mild case of Autism at the age of eight when she couldn't get along with anyone her own age, and she was starting to have problems with her parents. The doctors, and her parents had no idea what to do with death obsession. She was starting to draw, and write about it. And, her parents would catch her looking at horrific things on the internet. She never seemed depressed though, privacy was favored, and she often laughed to herself. Her parents never reported her having an imaginary friend, but she would often refer to herself as 'her'. No one seemed to notice too much, one psychiatrist considered that she might have been showing early signs of dissociative identity disorder, unable to commit to the idea of being alive in her own body, or unable to find an identity at all, always just seeing herself as some thing that is alive, not actually a person.

Bridgett grew up. She enjoyed her hobbies, she still didn't enjoy other children, and instead of forcing her to attend the private school that she had been going to, Her father decided to keep her home, and teach her how to write himself. He thought that if a young woman could write, than she could communicate. And if his daughter could learn to communicate better, than she would be able to mature, and blossom, and be normal.

In her early adolescence, Bridgett was on the right track, she was learning rapidly, her doctors were taking her off of medications, and she was starting to make a few friends in her youth groups and her tennis clubs. Bridgett was fourteen when she started to consider things that regular girls considered, she asked her mom if she would ever think about helping her dye her hair black. Naturally, her mother didn't like the idea of black hair, but it was good to hear the word dye come out of her daughters mouth, instead of 'die'. Bridgett never achieved a world class level, but she started to win regional tournaments for her age group in tennis. She was only 44 lbs at the age of fourteen, and gymnastics were appealing to her at that time as well. It was almost fun to be as light as a feather. Of course, she knew by that time that her bones were flexible, but no one else did. Boys could lift her above their heads as if they were moving a mattress. It was fun. Bridgett was enjoying herself, but the odds were stacked up against her.

Her friends were starting to envy her, or despise her for being rude, or too pretty, or weird, or just freaky in general. They said the cheated because of how light she was. Everyone was growing tired of her quickly, and no one had expected this to happen. It was when they found out that she couldn't be broken. She was climbing a fence, and she fell, and everyone saw her leg bend the wrong way, and everyone saw her cringe in pain, and everyone saw her shake it out. She stood up and started along like nothing had gone wrong.

There was something wrong. The kids were not okay with what had just happened. She had officially become a freak, it was instant. Before she was an anomaly, but in that moment, she became a freak. And, they beat her. They tested her bodies limits. Baseball bats to her knee wouldn't break her. She screamed in pain, and they only gagged her. It was when they through her off of the roof. It was the coma. Bridgett was almost fifteen years old. The kids escaped, her friends, and the groundskeeper of the facility that they played tennis at had found her. Everyone had attributed the fall to attempted suicide.

She would have been fine, it was only a thirty foot drop, but she had hit her head, and she had suffered a sever concussion, and she had slipped into a coma. She was no progressing. It was on the sixth week, and the third day, two weeks after Bridgett had turned fifteen. It was snowing on a cold December morning. Birthday balloons were still in the room, but her family had vacated. A nurse had been in the hall, two doctors were present, and one surgeon, but he was asleep in the break room of the hospital. Bridgett was no longer in the ICU, she had stabilized, and she was either going to wake up one day or die.

They hadn't figured that both would happen at the same time. Bridgett flatlined, her brainwaves stopped, her body started to twitch. The nurse ran into the room, and shouted for a doctor. The nurse checked the young girls wires and tubes, everything was fine, her bag was still inserted, and her iv was dripping. The nurse turned around when she heard a footstep. It wasn't the doctor. It was Beta. It was Her, It was Bridgett, as far as the nurse was concerned. The doctor then rushed into the room to find the girl standing in the middle of the room, while simultaneously laying down on the hosptal bed plugged into machines.

The cameras in the hospital room recorded the following events, but the doctor and the nurse were never able to explain it completely. The doctor started to escort Beta out of the room, but the Nurse made it clear to him that this 'person' had appeared from nowhere. The camera did in fact record that Beta had appeared from nowhere. The three of them appeared to converse for a moment. And Beta took command of the room, she seemed to be explaining something to the two medical professionals. Beta than reaches down and touches Bridgett's exposed foot. Then, a flash hits the camera, and static takes over the screan for a half of a second. At that point, Bridgett's vital signs return, Beta dissappears from the room, the nurse rushes over to the monitors, and the doctor looks around the room in confusion. He then looks down at Bridgett as the young girl rises from the bed, and out of her coma.

From that day on, Bridgett had full access to Beta, her telempathy, and her ability to project emotions through physical appearance.

It only took four weeks for her parents to bring in a priest. Their daughter had changed completely. She had been found in bed, naked and writhing with the other version of herself. Bridgett had vanished completely for days, and returned talking non-sense about other dimensions, and the world of people-music. Bridgett was starting to be able to morph her face, and her parents were convinced that a demon had possessed their child, the surveillance fottage from the hospital had not helped Bridgett's case.

Of course, the exorcism did not succeed. Bridge would not respond to latin or the holy cross, and the priest concluded that this girl was beyond help.

How she ends up at Charles Xavier's mansion is likely up to me and the teacher that recruits her.

Addendum: Bridgett has concluded that being an empath is her only power. Her body is a reaction to her overbearing empath brain, thus the darkside of her mutation. Or the bad side of the coin. Also, Beta, is a byproduct of her actual power. Due to the concussion and the coma, Bridgett is only half aware of how Bridge came to be.

When she died her empathic powers activated, dormant limiting her physical boundaries for her entire life. So, Beta was only a thing that happened when Bridgett died, this is the subtext in her history, and the death in the hospital. So...

Bridgett's coma caused her to die. The process of death caused her x-gene to activate. The activation of her x-gene combined with her particular power caused her to tap into her final potential. Bridgett created a form of herself that had two bodies in a last ditch effort to sustain her own life. Beta was a complete version of Bridgett, slight brain trauma and all, the only difference being that Beta wasn't about to die. Bridgett's vitals were shut down, but she was still alive. Bridgett was revived from a critical state by Beta when her duplicate at the instincts to merge together with her Alpha. Beta's motivation for taking this risk is impossible to distinguish, only Bridgett knows, and she is too insane to distinguish it from any other reason to live.

Bridgett spent an eternity dead, as she reports it. When she came back from her coma, she had two bodies and a very bad memory of how she had done something so fantastic. The time spent dead had distorted her psyche forever. Bridgett sees it kind of like this: Beta is who Bridgett used to be, before the activation. Beta is also what she would have been if she had never been activated. And Bridgett is the dead version of herself, coming back from another realm as the master-and-handler of her own soul . Of course, her view has changed since coming to the mansion. Bridgett knows that shes not from another dimension. She also knows that duplication is not written into her x-gene, it's a by-product of her power at the moment of her activation, that's why she can only produce one duplicate. She doesn't actually have duplication powers. Beta is just a form that Bridgett learned how to take, just the twin-like form of an empath's mind.

Hmmm... I hope you don't mind, but I think I may switch to an original character for a teacher instead. I just came up with an interesting idea.

On that note... how do you feel about shapeshifters?

OC is fine as well! And a Shapeshifter can work depending on the type, we already have a Hulkling and someone had mentioned Mystique, so that kind of shapeshifter would probably be a bit overkill, but I'd be open to other interpretations (like particular types of animals, etc)

Well, I guess that's out.

I had considered that there aren't any (to my knowledge) intersex characters in the Marvel universe. I was thinking up an intersex shapeshifter who was a veritable blank slate (ie no definitively 'masculine' or 'feminine' markers) and could transform much like Mystique.

I shall keep brainstorming. Though I will probably have an intersex character in the end.

You could go for a Loki-Type character, who has been portrayed as a female and a male several times (Through sorcery, rather than shape shifting though.)

Yes, but magic is being at least restricted, from what I can gather.

It is, very restricted, but if it can be reworked as something else, or made much more... specific in use, then it may be accepted :) A version of young Loki, for example, would also need a lot of work to make fit... but would also be very awesome.

Hmmm... Since there appears to be a genderbent Iron Man in the works, would that mean that the appearance of Robert Downy Jr is available?

Absolutely, no faceclaims are sacred unless they're in use! :)

(I stole Chris Evans from Captain America, even!)

General Appearance: Lean and somewhat delicate in appearance, Yuki's look is deliberately androgynous, although 'he' has been obviously leaning in a masculine direction lately. Beneath the layered tees is a pair of breasts, but Yuki puts a great deal of thought into keeping them from being too apparent. Best laid plans are prone to fail at times, though the mystery of Yuki's genitalia has been a successfully kept secret. Yuki keeps short hair and dresses in punk or 'alternative' fashion.

OTHER INFORMATION:
Orientation: demisexual - Yuki needs to have developed a close emotional bond with someone in order to awaken any sort of sexual attraction to them. Physical sex and gender have absolutely no bearing.
Ons/Offs: Yuki is drawn to people who seem real, flawed and genuine. When his romantic interest is obtained, he often finds the more unique aspects of his interests appealing - often, these are things seen as 'flaws' by some (freckles, buck teeth, extreme height difference, a nasally voice...) Honesty, devotion and selflessness are real virtues to be admired, though they are sometimes difficult goals to obtain. On the flip side, you'd lose Yuki's personal interest by being too perfect, mainly because he knows it's a lie - nothing could be more obvious. However, Yuki does understand the societal push toward perfection so these people tend to receive his pity more than anything. Repeated deception, arrogance or bigotry will push Yuki away as well.
Goals: To make his parents proud and complete his training.
Wealth Level: 5-Excellent
Personality: Yuki is very polite and soft spoken except around those who he knows well enough to call 'friend'. With those (lucky?) few, he lets his goofy side show, which could be anything from silly faces to mimicry to drawing crazy cartoons. He keeps a journal that lets him muddle through any negative thoughts he has. The books are filled with random sketches and musings, especially after his talent to see things emerged. OF course, even after the sort of mental or spiritual purging the diary allows him, Yuki isn't perfect. He is self-conscious about many things: his body, his voice and even his ethnicity to some degree.

SCHOOL INFO:
Classes Taken: Basic courses for his grade level
Year: High school Sophomore
Club Memberships or Sponsorships: None as of yet (new student)

STATS:
Fighting: 3
Agility: 4
Strength: 3
Endurance: 4
Reason: 4
Intuition: 7
Psyche: 4

POWERS:
Flow Manipulation - Yuki has the uncanny knack to see waveforms and how they move. He discovered he was able to subtly alter the path of movement as if by normal physical means. Since he is so very new to his ability, he can only control the flow of water, but the Professor was able to see something more in him that gave him the understanding that his powers had the potential to reach out into so much more. This honestly didn't surprise Yuki too much; he assumed that control of the "element" of water would somehow feel different.
(Other potential power development, upon approval of the GM: Sound waves, Air currents, Light...)

ADVANTAGES:
Lucid Dreaming - Yuki is more aware during sleep than most people are, he remembers his dreams far better than the average person as well.
Focused - Yuki can keep his concentration better than most while surrounded by distraction
20/20 - Perfect vision

DISADVANTAGES:
Photo-sensitivity - Yuki is harshly affected by bright lights, they often trigger migraines. When he is plagued by those headaches, his ability to concentrate is lessened. He has to keep a prescription medication on hand, just in case.
Clinical Depression - Ironic though it is, considering his pleasant demeanor and comfortable lifestyle, depression has been a trouble for him since he was in 8th grade. It runs in his family and is due to a chemical imbalance. He treats it through meditation, venting in his journal, being mindful of his diet and, in some periods of his life, by medication. He is currently off antidepressants and doing well, but depression is an illness that may never go away.
Weak Ankles - It is easy to unbalance Yuki by attacking his weak spot and his balance can suffer from it sometimes.

SKILLS:
bilingual: - English, Japanese
Martial arts: - Yuki's parents had him learning Aikido in his youth.
Seriously good handwriting - But that comes with keeping a hand-written journal for so long.

HISTORY:
I don't know what to say, I'm a little overwhelmed to be honest. So much has happened recently that it almost seems like a dream. I look at how many pages I've covered here and how many of these books line my parents' shelves and it's strange to think I'll be leaving them. My parents, of course, not the books!

I remember growing up in Logan Square, chasing the ice cream truck every summer with father hanging on to my hand behind me. He was always there to help me through everything, Mom too. I'm so grateful to them and everything they've done. Without the two of them, I wouldn't be on my way to this gifted school in New York.

The day I told them about this strange sight of mine, I was so worried they wouldn't understand. looking back, I can't understand why. They would have never thought badly of me for being different. I know it was difficult for them to really grasp the concept of this, but it just shows how lucky I am to call them mom and dad and not some backwards anti-intellectuals. Science was always a big part of my upbringing, come to think of it. Dad always said I should look at things from as many angles as possible and never assume I know the one and only truth about something. I wonder if, without that open-minded foundation that he laid for me, how would I have reacted?

There was no one moment that my sight suddenly changed. It was slow, but I began to notice that I was picking up on things that weren't there. It was almost like I was viewing the world in "Google Glass" or some other ever present computer relay screen. It's funny, this really does seem like I've stepped out of an Anime!  O8) I wasn't really scared about it, but I did know it wasn't "normal". But since I didn't know what to make of it and it didn't hurt, I didn't think I had a reason to tell anyone.

One day, I just dipped my hand in the water at a stream in the old park we used to go camping in when I was a kid. I saw how the current pulled it along its natural course but I also saw the possibilities of that changing. To this day, I can't explain it well enough. I just twisted my hand and pulled the current to the side and I saw how the water moved up onto the shore nearby. When I realized my action was responsible, I couldn't help but continue to play with it. And, what's more, I started to notice hints that the current of the water was somehow linked to other manner of flowing things in the world. Professor X said that's a sign that this sight might let me move other things, like... air currents or something. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

BASIC INFO:
Legal Name: Zachary Lee Bosco
Codename/Nickname/Aliases: Rampart
Citizenship and other legal info: Dual Citizenship: US and Italy
Place of Birth: Bologna, Italy
Raised in: New York City (since age 2)
Occupation: Teacher at the school
Education: Bachelor's degree

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Height: 6'2
Weight: 270
Hair color: Brown
Eye color: Brown
Gender: Cisgender Male
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Age: 38
General Appearance: Zach's got a real sense of style - old-fashioned, perhaps but smart and tailored. He does allow himself to wear tees and jeans while working out or doing dirty jobs, though. He's a solidly-built man, though his musculature would hardly hint at his superhuman ability. Those eyes and that hair - that always near-perfect hair - are a matching shade of rich, chocolate brown. Facial hair comes and goes, but otherwise Zach keeps up with basic 'manscaping'. He has no piercings, no tatoos... Mama would never have approved such a thing.

OTHER INFORMATION:
Orientation: bisexual
Ons/Offs: Romance. Zach's a one-partner kind of man and he enjoys the process of wooing and falling in love. He still has plenty of purely sexual turn-ons (listed below) but without love, sex is not nearly as enjoyable. He attaches himself emotionally to his partners and has a weakness of becoming a jealous lover. That complicates things enough to make sure that casual sex is hardly ever in his life.
Ons: Body worship(giving), oral(especially giving), kissing, extended foreplay, sensory play, being seduced, getting his partner to make noise, laugh, smile...
Offs: Dishonesty, humiliation, questionable consent, Players offs also apply
He adapts, taking on roles and participating in fetishes to please his lover. He has not actually been exposed to very much. What really gets him off is getting his partner off.

Goals: Help give a sense of structure to the mutant community. Maybe find a dame and get married, why not? Or a gent, who knows? That's legal in New York now, anyway.
Wealth Level: 3
Personality: He's a good Italian boy and has a heart of gold but a bit of a potty mouth at times. Zach's found humor to be an important part of getting through life and taps into it to help teach, hammer out tense situations and manage his fears. He's down to Earth and has a lot of traditional values. Family, home, country, friends and just doing the right thing is the force that makes his world go round. Having no family of his own any longer, he now views those in the school under that light. After his experiences out in the rest of the world, he knows that diversity is important but understands the fear that most people feel in the presence of the unknown. He does worry about the future and thinks building a stable community is extremely important.

SCHOOL INFO:
Taught:
English: English as a second language, High school/remedial courses, American Literature and Creative Writing
Com: Introduction to communications, Fundamentals of oral communication and Introduction to Interpersonal Relations
Sponsorships: Sponsors Impact and works with William (mostly behind the scenes)

STATS:
Fighting: 5
Agility: 4
Strength: 7
Endurance: 6
Reason: 4
Intuition: 4
Psyche: 4

POWERS:
Immovability - Zach is famous for being the immovable object. It takes a tremendous amount of force (stat number 8+?) to be able to move his body back even when he is at rest. He can stop moving vehicles with his body and depending upon how he goes about doing it, it could be a slow deceleration or a crumpled up mess much like a crushed can. Even though his weight doesn't even breach 300 pounds, it's like his body is a reinforced wall when others try to push against it.
Enhanced strength - Going hand in hand with being immovable, Zachary can pull, lift, push or bench press an inhuman amount.
Invulnerability - Without this power, being immovable or strong wouldn't matter in the end. Paper cuts don't exist as far as he's concerned. It's so difficult to even break his skin that it takes an attack that would normally have killed (or dismembered) someone to do so. It seems like Zachary's got a rather thick skin, but when you look him over, it isn't as if he's covered in Mithril. He appears for all the world to look like an impeccably preserved yet normal middle-aged man. His invulnerability is not absolute; in the end he can be harmed like other human beings it just takes a lot more force to achieve the same end result. He can still be injured or killed; he is not invincible.

ADVANTAGES:
Nice Guy - Unassuming and kind, Zach has a talent for setting people at ease.
High drug and alcohol tolerance - Although this can work against him if he is in need of medication, usually it is a good thing that it takes a lot more of a substance to affect him.
20/20 - Perfect vision. His invulnerability even saves him from the astigmatism that runs in his family.

DISADVANTAGES:
Emotional attachment - He'll go out of his way to protect anyone he cares even the smallest amount for, such as the students, his friends, random women and children.... He has trouble tearing himself away from a scene, even if he has orders to and even if he fathoms that a tactical advantage could be achieved through retreat. It is difficult to leave friends behind when he could be saving them. (He often needs convincing to GTFO)
Acrophobia - Hang-gliding? Parachuting? Piloting a frickin' airplane?! No, thank you. Zachary needs his feet on the ground. The time may come that he needs to throw himself off a building for some reason, but he better be damn-well sure to get his aim perfect before he does, because his eyes would be shut the whole time.
Diminished sense - Perhaps due to his abilities, his sense of touch is not very good. It's particularly an issue on his arms, legs and hands so he'd never be able to feel a mosquito land on him. However, since the damn thing couldn't break his skin anyway, it doesn't matter. His face, neck back and the usual 'sensitive' areas work pretty much as usual, though.
Alone - All of Zach's loved ones are gone. He was from a big Italian family that has now dispersed, several of them died due to an encounter with an enemy from his past. This makes him a bit overprotective of those he comes to care for now.

SKILLS:
Storyteller: - Zachary's imagination got plenty of a workout as a kid.
Unarmed Combat: - Basic self defense and disarming techniques.
Firearms - While he chooses to no longer use them, his experience in the police force gives him extensive knowledge about guns.
Bilingual - Fluent English and a bit spotty Italian.

HISTORY:
Family. That single word was the focal point of the first two decades of his existence. He had a Mama, Papa and two little sisters as well as a slew of cousins that he had a hand in raising, entertaining and tucking in to sleep. Everyone looked out for everyone else, they used their manners and respected the elderly. It was sort of an old-time, comfortable lifestyle; all that was missing was a grandmother who overfed everybody and a soda fountain on the street corner.

Yes, life was good. Wholesome, even. He didn't experience an awakening to his mutant abilities on the onset of hormones, like many do. Rather, Zachary's experience was at the end of puberty. He had graduated from high school with a B average and decided he wanted to join the police force like one of his uncles had. At the age of nineteen, he was a fresh-faced graduate from the academy and excelling at something for the first time in his life. However, he was brash and overconfident, and he allowed himself to bask in the praises he received too long. There came a day when he was stepping high because of a recent commendation he had received. If he'd been focusing a bit more on doing his job rather than patting himself on the back, it would have never happened.

Purse snatchers on a New York City street? How very embarrassing that such a common annoyance would be to blame! A young man grabbed nearby lady's belongings and ran off down the street. He had to be physically hit for her to gain his attention and she was standing right next to him. Zachary took off running behind the vagrant and chased him for far longer than what was necessary to bruise his ego. The thief pushed a fruit stand over, toppling its owner into the street and into the path of an oncoming city bus. Without thinking much of it, Zachary dashed forward, pumping his straining legs full of adrenaline for an increase in speed. He pushed the fruit monger back onto the curb and took a full blast of bus right to the side. His powers weren't at all developed then, of course, his body was pushed backward nearly 12 feet. The deafening screech that erupted from the crash was brutal. Hardly anyone at the scene had an inkling of what really went down.

The thief got away and the mental shock of the event made the inexperienced mutant faint. He woke up in a hospital room surrounded by teary, thankful family members and a dumbfounded medical staff. From there, his life changed. He became somewhat of a local legend over time, though many believed he was more lucky than gifted with superhuman ability at first. When he realized that he was making a name for himself more from his strange talents than by being an officer, he retired from the force and decided to go to college. He attended a school in upper New York and while he chopped away at the credits for his degree, he managed to find two others who were experiencing strange abilities as well. The three of them became fast friends, eventually forming a vigilante team of their own in the small city. But they were careful to cover up the means of which they plied their heroic trade.

After graduation, the three separated and Zach went back home to the city. He attempted to make it as a writer for a while and though his folks occasionally rode his ass for it, they were largely supportive. He got a job as a security officer to pay the bills, it came easy since enough of his reputation remained to open doors for him. One of his college buddies came to visit when he was 27 and his parents, who Zachary lived with still, opened their home up to him. By this time, most of his cousins had moved back to Bologna and the surrounding areas of Italy, so his immediate family was all he had. They perished in a fire that first night.

Conner Kappa considered himself a godsend. His powers were white fire and lightning and he could ride the sky like a bolt out of the blue but he had a temper that rode just as hot as the rest of him and he loved to argue. There was too much drinking and too much talking late into the early morning. Zachary had tried to relieve a tense situation with humor and it all went wrong. Words became venomous and Con started throwing blows. Not wanting to harm his friend, Zach restrained him and Connor responded by becoming a pillar of flame. The fight the two of them had that night crashed walls of nearby buildings and left the house a charred mess.

It was all over the news; with or without second sight it would have been easy for Xavier to find him and Zachary hardly had the presence of mind to understand why he was being approached. But, the community that had loved Zach and the rest of the Bosco family began to gossip over if the terrifyingly powerful man had killed his family. Zach joined Xavier that day, became one of the first teachers at the school he formed and never went back to the old neighborhood except to visit his family's gravesite.

POWERS:
Bio-Electric Pulse Perception and Manipulation
At the root of his power, Pulse is able to sense electrical fields and activity.  This perception manifested at an early age allowing him to sense when living creature drew near.  Electrical activity in the heart and nervous system alerts him to the presence of another person often before they are within range of his other senses.  As he grew older he found that he could map the area around him by using the electrical current of the building or area.  Through his various hunting trips he learned to focus his senses to track the rhythms of certain creatures and distinguish what those rhythms meant.  He could sense when his prey was growing anxious and might know of his approach, when they grew tired or relaxed from running and when they slept

Combined with his attentiveness to the emotional state of his companions, Jacob can sometimes sense people's hidden moods almost as well as a telepath—or at least a polygraph.

Life in the harsh winters of Alaska forced him to strengthen the use of his abilities.  At a later age he found that he could emit subtle electrical pulses.  This pulse would radiate outward from him and combined with his perception to map the immediate vicinity.  Training and time allowed him to continually perform this task so that he could perceive the landscape even in the darkest of night.

At a full sprint he is able to sense subtle changes in the landscape, obstacles in his path and even man made hazards laid out for him.  As this electrical sense becomes more in tuned with his other more basic senses, he is able to act on this extra sense with extreme speed.  This pulse also had another, darker application that thrilled and excited him.  By extending his perception to a specific electrical point and filling the metal head of his arrow with a pulse of energy he could link the two.  While the shot is not perfect, the accuracy is far improved.

He is also able to emit a strong taser-like stun with his powers.  Right now he needs to touch his target for it to work, but he's working on learning to do it at range.

ADVANTAGES:

DISADVANTAGES:
Detectable Power – The 'active mode' on Jacob's powers—where he creates a sort of bioelectric sonar—interferes with radio waves.  People can note his presence when television, radio, and cellular phones are mildly but perceptibly distorted.
Social Awkwardness – Having spent very little time with people besides his father, Gabriel is hesitant and clumsy in social situations.

SKILLS:
Archer: – Pulse's father trained him in martial disciplines ranging from unarmed combat through firearms.  The skill in which Pulse truly excelled was with the bow.  Even without his powers, his can shoot through through 20 tossed rings a minute at 150 feet with ninety three percent efficiency.
Stealthy: – Pulse learned stealth as part of his woodslore.  He can often get close enough to a wild animal to rest a hand on it's shoulders.
Woodsman: – Pulse can hunt, fish, navigate wilderness, improvise tools and shelter, and track.

HISTORY:
CIA Agent Paul Anderson a strong, active field agent.  He’d worked as a spy, an assassin, and counterintelligence during America’s many ‘policing actions.’  Along with conventional training, he spent two years in Alaska, learning survivalist skills from Inuits affiliated with the army.

He had a weakness for a pretty girl, which was how he wound up letting an enemy agent into his bed while on an extended mission in South Africa.  He managed not to compromise the mission, but he discovered she was the foreign agent called Bright Eyes—an assassin capable of turning invisible and projecting blinding light or deadly laser beams from her hands.

Paul’s loyalty was called into question on account of Bright Eyes not killing him, and he was left at a desk. especially when—two years later—he suddenly took it into his head to adopt a fifteen month old baby nobody could account for the origin of.

   *   *   *

Samantha Waters codename Bright Eyes

The finest assassin the world has never known. None know exactly where she came from or why she decided to make her presence known. Rumors and whispers attribute many deaths to her skilled hands but little evidence is able to make the vital links fit into place. What is known for certain is that during the crucial time of the Vietnam War and the Cold War Era she became an important figure in the espionage community. Some whispered she was a mutant while others were convinced she was a fictional character the intelligence community created to scare operatives. The codename Bright Eyes became a warning to any and all that death would soon visit. Only the dead know the truth behind such a name.

Her disappearance was just as striking and unknown. There was little behind the vanishing act for the common man and operative as she may never have existed in the first place. Yet to the intelligence community her removal from the game opened a vacuum of power that few could fill. Fears circulated that she had defected to enemy informants. Few could guess that the world class killer had retreated to a secluded cabin in the northern wastes of Siberia to bear her child. So many would be surprised to know that the fear they shared and faced was from a woman’s desire to witness the first breath of her child.

She reappeared three years later, as deadly as ever, and never spoke of where she’d been.

   *   *   *

He named his son Jacob.  Bright Eye’s note had simply read, “You can give him a future I never could.”

Stuck behind a desk, Paul new it was time to resign a few years later when his son’s eyes shifted from hazel to match his mother’s and he spoke of knowing whether or not the neighbors were home by the sound of their heart beats.

Jacob spent most of his childhood in a cabin outside of a small town in Alaska.  He had few friends, and didn’t see the ones he had very often.  He spent most of his time studying, doing chores to keep up the house, hunting, and learning.  On his eleventh birthday his father dropped him off in the woods 7 days from home with just a knife and a jacket.  He got home ten days later with a bow, haunch of preserved meet, and some skins.

At thirteen, he did the same thing with no knife, and Jacob arrived home in 9 days, this time with javelins and an atlatl because he hadn’t found any wood of sufficient quality to make a satisfactory bow stave, but the flint and chirt axe was still useable.

And through it all his skills grew.

POWER NAME1 - Power description here. Include skill level, limits, disadvantages, etc. The more detail you go into the better off you'll be in the long run. I want someone who's able to make my whole body shiver from a distance and also pull me close to make sense of all my bones.

Soooo I'm curious about possibly joining this if you are still looking for players. Maybe Colossus? I didn't notice his app in the accepted characters and if it's okay I wouldn't mind making him as a student maybe?
