Hello, so I have been on a 5e kick just wanting to play and finally try the idea of "DM is out to kill everyone". However I don't like killing a character that someone has created because it is something someone has put effort into. So in this case, I would be out to fuck everyone, and what a perfect place for such a game. The idea is a legendary tavern with a rune covered door leading below. It is well known that this door leads to a legendary dungeon that changes each year. The greatest minds have no idea how or why this happens, but adventurers of all kinds love to tackle this mystery of the world. Weapons, gold, jewels, armor, slaves, monsters. All things can be found inside this dungeon. The dungeon almost seems alive as it's riches seem to match the adventurer's desire. Possibly the strangest part of the dungeon, is no one ever dies if they fail. Upon defeat or failure, some find themselves simply waking up in one of the tavern's beds. Some wake up sprawled across the tavern floor or even chained to the wall for tavern goers to mock. Some adventurers are found by other traveling through the dungeon. Eventually all who enter do leave, alive. Laws and social standards stop at the door to the dungeon, which allows theft and slave taking to be allowed should adventurer's cross paths.

The tavern owner has an additional game for those curious in a challenge. A simple card game that can grant boons are banes. 52 cards are laid out on a table and the two of you take turns looking for pairs until you pull two that don't match. Some grant gold, some take. Some grant favors, some demand them, specifics written on the card.

Details so far that I have thought of would be.
- There will be very little story, besides the interaction between NPCs
- I'm thinking starting level 10, point buy for stats
- I'd prefer those of the female gender as characters.

I think goblins would fall under (heh, heh, puns...) the "no small characters" rule... which is a shame 'cause I'd love to give my Goblin barbarian another run someday. She was ridiculous... and that poor horse!

Brief History/Concept: Kara Brightridge is a heroine with delusions of grandeur. She imagines herself a brilliant adventurer who can take on any challenge - even a legendary dungeon that has had nobody succeed yet at taking the treasures from the depths of it. She is quick to sing her praises and quicker to get herself in trouble. A pact with an Archfey has been made to grant her magical prowess beyond the pricks that she can manage with her rapier, with little thought given to the consequences of making a deal with a being that regularly turns mortals into playthings for their eternal amusements. Contrary to her tendency to enjoy being lauded for her praises and making a name for herself, a part of her deep down inside quite enjoys being demeaned and treated as a sex object; something that she would never admit aloud and does her best to keep herself from ever being in situations that would lead to that.

Thieves' Cant
During your rogue Training you learned thieves' cant, a secret mix of dialect, jargon, and code that allows you to hide messages in seemingly normal conversation. Only another creature that knows thieves' cant understands such messages. It takes four times longer to convey such a Message than it does to speak the same idea plainly.

In addition, you understand a set of secret signs and symbols used to convey short, simple messages, such as whether an area is dangerous or the territory of a thieves' guild, whether loot is nearby, or whether the people in an area are easy marks or will provide a safe house for thieves on the run.

When you are in a civilized settlement, you can get away with minor criminal offenses, such as refusing to pay for food at a tavern or breaking down doors at a local shop, since most people will not report your activity to the authorities.
Defensive Duelist (chosen feat,)
When you are wielding a finesse weapon with which you are proficient and another creature hits you with a melee attack, you can use your reaction to add your proficiency bonus to your AC for that attack, potentially causing the attack to miss you.
Lucky (chosen feat)
You have inexplicable luck that seems to kick in at just the right moment.
You have 3 luck points. Whenever you make an attack roll, an ability check, or a saving throw, you can spend one luck point to roll an additional d20. You can choose to spend one of your luck points after you roll the die, but before the outcome is determined. You choose which of the d20s is used for the attack roll, ability check, or saving throw.
You can also spend one luck point when an attack roll is made against you. Roll a d20, and then choose whether the attack uses the attacker’s roll or yours.
If more than one creature spends a luck point to influence the outcome of a roll, the points cancel each other out; no additional dice are rolled. You regain your expended luck points when you finish a long rest.

Favored Kink: A rascal at heart, Nyx's favorite fantasy is getting caught on-the-job and being forced into submission by a female/futa authority figure such as a guard or bounty hunter.

Bio
Bio: Raised in an orphanage owned by a domineering and uncaring mistress, Nyx never had a last name. Indeed, she didn't have any name until she created one for herself. Always somewhat small and easy to miss—especially for a half-orc—Nyx earned her name through her ability to make her way through the darkness with whisper-like quietness. She used this ability to steal food from the kitchens for the other orphans until the day came when she discovered that the orphanage was really only a front for a slave ring that specialized in children. She escaped when she was twelve, stabbing the head mistress in the chest and freeing the other children as she did so. Living off the streets taught her much, and she did so for years, becoming an effective thief and honing her abilities to a fine point.

In her early years, Nyx ran afoul of a pirate captain she tried to steal from. Instead of killing her, though, the Captain was impressed with her ability to sneak into the ship without alerting any of the crew. Nyx joined their crew and soon learned to use her abilities to kill quickly, silently and accurately, becoming a master of disguise, deception and manipulation along the way. She hopes to retire in luxury, someday, and maybe adopt some children so that they won't have to go through the horrors she's convinced most parent-less children have to endure.

The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus. A creature takes 2d6 damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The damage increases to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 16th level.

After you use your breath weapon, you can’t use it again until you complete a short or Long Rest.

Damage Resistance: Cold
Damage Resistance: You have Resistance to the damage type associated with your draconic ancestry.


Class Features

Rage
In battle, you fight with primal ferocity. On Your Turn, you can enter a rage as a Bonus Action.

While raging, you gain the following benefits if you aren't wearing heavy armor:

• You have advantage on Strength Checks and Strength saving throws.

• When you make a melee weapon Attack using Strength, you gain a +2 bonus to the damage roll. This bonus increases as you level.

• You have Resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.

If you are able to cast Spells, you can't cast them or concentrate on them while raging.

Your rage lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you are knocked Unconscious or if Your Turn ends and you haven't attacked a hostile creature since your last turn or taken damage since then. You can also end your rage on Your Turn as a Bonus Action.

Once you have raged the maximum number of times for your barbarian level, you must finish a Long Rest before you can rage again. You may rage 2 times at 1st level, 3 at 3rd, 4 at 6th, 5 at 12th, and 6 at 17th.

Unarmored Defense
While you are not wearing any armor, your Armor Class equals 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Constitution modifier. You can use a Shield and still gain this benefit.

Danger Sense
At 2nd level, you gain an uncanny sense of when things nearby aren't as they should be, giving you an edge when you dodge away from danger. You have advantage on Dexterity saving throws against effects that you can see, such as traps and Spells. To gain this benefit, you can't be Blinded, Deafened, or Incapacitated.

Reckless Attack
Starting at 2nd level, you can throw aside all concern for defense to Attack with fierce desperation. When you make your first Attack on Your Turn, you can decide to Attack recklessly. Doing so gives you advantage on melee weapon Attack rolls using Strength during this turn, but Attack rolls against you have advantage until your next turn.

Primal Path- Berserker
At 3rd level, you choose a path that shapes the nature of your rage, such as the Path of the Berserker. Your choice grants you features at 3rd level and again at 6th, 10th, and 14th levels.

Path Abilities

Frenzy
Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you can go into a frenzy when you rage. If you do so, for the Duration of your rage you can make a single melee weapon Attack as a Bonus Action on each of your turns after this one. When your rage ends, you suffer one level of Exhaustion (as described in Conditions).

Mindless Rage
Beginning at 6th level, you can’t be Charmed or Frightened while raging. If you are Charmed or Frightened when you enter your rage, the effect is suspended for the Duration of the rage.

Intimidating Presence
Beginning at 10th level, you can use your action to frighten someone with your menacing presence. When you do so, choose one creature that you can see within 30 feet of you. If the creature can see or hear you, it must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier) or be Frightened of you until the end of your next turn. On subsequent turns, you can use your action to extend the Duration of this effect on the Frightened creature until the end of your next turn. This effect ends if the creature ends its turn out of line of sight or more than 60 feet away from you.
If the creature succeeds on its saving throw, you can’t use this feature on that creature again for 24 hours.

Ability Score Improvement
When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th, and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two Ability Scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can’t increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.

Extra Attack
Beginning at 5th level, you can Attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.

Fast Movement
Starting at 5th level, your speed increases by 10 feet while you aren't wearing Heavy Armor.

Feral Instinct
By 7th level, your instincts are so honed that you have advantage on initiative rolls.

Additionally, if you are surprised at the beginning of Combat and aren't Incapacitated, you can act normally on your first turn, but only if you enter your rage before doing anything else on that turn.

Brutal Critical
Beginning at 9th level, you can roll one additional weapon damage die when determining the extra damage for a critical hit with a melee Attack.

This increases to two additional dice at 13th level and three additional dice at 17th level.


Background Feature
You have an excellent memory for maps and geography, and you can always recall the general layout of terrain, settlements, and other features around you. In addition, you can find food and fresh water for yourself and up to five other people each day, provided that the land offers berries, small game, water, and so forth.

•Your scales harden; you gain a +1 bonus to AC while you aren’t wearing armor.

Brief History/Concept:  Areha lived on the edge of civilization, more of a wild woman than most people.  Born in the wilderness, disagreements shook her small family.  Eventually, they broke apart.  Areha's twin sister went with their father to live in civilized society, while Areha stayed just barely on the edge of it, learning the ways of the wild and how to harness her rage properly.  There was a great anger in her lineage, and it was both her greatest strength, and her greatest weakness.  While she was busy training, it seemed her sister had tried to make a name for herself as an adventurer.  While she hadn't necessarily failed, Areha failed to see the wisdom in this.  If she wouldn't adventure out of the town to ruins, wilderness, and mountains in the distance, what hope had she?  It was a foolish venture.  However, when she heard Rae was heading into that thrice-damned dungeon protected by naught but a rune, she grew concerned.  When she did not hear from her for some time, she grew worried.  Now she finds herself in town herself, aiming to delve into the depths of the dungeon herself to find her sister and break some things while she's at it.

If people end up in the same room then you can interact with each other. Once they leave the room you must either follow or else you can not hear, see, or interact with them, unless something allows you to do so.

Currently Areha/Miramirror, Kara/Annereinard, and Nyx/Backdraft are approved and can jump right in.

Favored Kink: To be ridiculously blunt, Alaria likes getting beaten up and beating things up in kind.  This is normally a hobby that's of limited use in the world at large, but the existence of a dungeon where everyone can go wherever they want, fight things, and in the event that things go just a little bit too far, there's no truly permanent consequences?  All of this is something of a dream come true.

Player offs: No bathroom stuff and no gratuitous gore is basically the limit.  I'm also not super fond of magical rapebeasts who have supernatural powers of winning without a real fight either.

That would depend on what you mean by Nyacromancer. A Shifter socerer, perfectly fine. A wizard or other magic class that only uses cats? That might be difficult to create but if you can then you are more than welcome to.

I'm open to having some background with an Inquisitor, though I haven't seen yours yet :P  I'd rather come back to the possibility after I actually post my character though.

I know I professed interest earlier, but I'm starting to get involved in too many games again. Got two more games coming up soon and I'm not sure I can manage another group game in addition to the one I'm in and the one I'm running... I'm sorry. Growing up on the streets of Locus, Tabitha learned early on that you might be able to survive on what others cast off, but if you wanted to thrive you had to be willing to create opportunities for yourself.  Tabby was getting too big.  She didn’t fit in all the bolt holes that she and the rest of the street kids were used to exploiting to avoid the guard.  The charity of tourists was beginning to dry up, as she no longer seemed like a precocious little kid; she was blossoming into a young woman and a different kind of adult was taking an interest in her.  She didn’t want to end up folded in as the pet of some ganglord, passed around to comfort his goons, but that mean she needed a hustle of her own to establish her own niche.

So, screwing up her courage, Tabby stole the spellbook from one of the Academy kids who’d wandered too far beyond those high white walls.

Self-teaching the arcane arts is no simple task.  When she moved beyond the simple Prestidigitation exercises and began channeling more potent energies, she accidentally set a fire in the warehouse district, which is when people started calling “Shabby Tabby” Cinders.  Uncertain if she was more worried about being headhunted by ambitious gangsters who wanted a burgeoning wizard under their thumb, or being swept up by the academics she’d stolen from in the first place, Tabitha left Locus behind and began her adventuring career.

Tabitha’s natural talent for the arcane is unburdened by concepts like restraint or common sense.  She’s looted ancient ruins, stolen secrets from slumbering demigods whose identities were long lost to time, burgled the towers of renowned mages, and delved into forbidden fields of study with equal aplomb.  A bit of a rogue scholar, she’s only just recently returned to Locus, intent on studying the great mystery of the Babylon Below.

Heh, yeah, most of the Wizard's class is tied up in their Spell List.  Heck, even the core Arcane Traditions are mostly about further capitalizing on that advantage.  It doesn't hurt that they learn more spells and get higher level spells faster than their Sorceror and Warlock competition.

Added a simple bio to Tabitha.  Basically, she's the both the last person you'd want to have access to forbidden magic, and the sort to relentlessly seek it out.  She's probably left a string of minor cataclysms in her wake as she traveled the country side.

(What can I say, I was inspired by the kind of personality that'd cheerfully conjure a flame in that massive firetrap of a library in the picture :P )

I really like that Bio, sounds like a fun character to play in a normal DnD campaign. It is inspiring to see pure bliss in the eyes from a conjured flame among the old, dusty, priceless, numerous, irreplaceable secrets of the universe.
