Deathnote

Not familiar with the books, but loving the TV show so far.  Just finished watching s2 episode 6, in fact. Are there any huge differences between the two I should be aware of?

Also, totally calling Traveller!  Is that a separate specialty on its own or am I allowed to be Psychic as well?  ~_^

Sorry for the wait. You can be whatever you want and traveler is its own specialty but will be counted as psychic.  We are free form and an original plot so i am blending the books the show and a few other pieces of things ive read or watched before

Deathnote

Player Name: Deathnote

-Name: Ken Wu
-Gender:Male
-Age:18
-Nationality: Chinese

-Appearance: Standing at around 5'10, he has jet black hair, dark brown eyes, and a sinewy athletic build.  He also has hedge tattoos along his right arm.  A different tattoo on his left arm seals away his teleportation abilities.

-Orientation: Straight

-Relationship status: Single

-Personality: Normally an easy-going person with a carefree and lackadaisical attitude and approach to things.  He has a tendency to be hot-headed and impatient, but he has also proven to be quick-witted and clever.  He's the type to act before he thinks, which has gotten him into trouble more than once before.  If he unintentionally insults someone, he will display genuine regret, apologizing or offering to make it up to the offended party.  He also has a strong vision of the future and displays uncanny deductive reasoning, most likely due to his aptitude in science.

-Power: Psychometry / Retrocognition - The ability to recall memories of the past by touching an object or person, Mind-Reading (requires physical contact), Teleportation (Sealed via Tattoo), Astral Projection

Magical Classification: 1st year Psychic / Traveler; Former Hedge

Basic History:

Although Ken was born to Hedge Parents, they kept him out of the world of magic until he was twelve years old, when his ability to read objects started manifesting.  A few weeks later, his teleportation abilities started showing up.  The first time, he found himself in the middle of the woods, thousands of miles away from home.  The second time, he ended up in America.  Fortunately, his parents were able to find him and bring him back home.  Most of the time, he was able to return home on his own.  Sometimes he needed some help.  Unable to solve this problem on their own, Ken's parents brought him to a more powerful Hedge Witch who was able to seal away the teleportation via a tattoo.  Ken would later be accepted into the Hedge Group where he learned to hone his psychic abilities until he was able to at least do it on command.

By the time he was eighteen, he had learned that his parents were against him joining that specific Hedge Group in the first place, but couldn't do anything about it.  It was the deal they made with the Hedge Witch who gave Ken his teleportation-sealing tattoo.  Considering the sorts of things the Hedge Group got into, it wasn't hard to see why his parents were reluctant to make that deal.  The main reason, however, turned out to be because his parents had a friend who stole a spell from the Top Hedge, but was caught and dealt with accordingly.

When Brakebills sent Ken an invitation to join, he wanted to take it.  His parents, without telling him, made another deal with the Top Hedge.  As a result, Ken was freed and allowed to enroll into Brakebills.
