Just a random scene I had pop into my head the other day...again. I think I like the setting. I'm just not sure how I got there or where I'm going with it...

The dry, cracked mud trembled slightly, small flakes rising as dust into the air, only to settle again over the whitened bones half buried by time. A whisper of a breeze mixes the tiny flakes as they are bounced by another tremble of the brittle surface. Arid heat bakes the surface of this land, torn by battles long past. A dull thud as the ground trembles again, the dust bouncing once more. Suddenly the surface layer of dried mud cracks and crashes away, revealing the dry bones of a warrior of the past.

Enameled armor is wrapped around the chest of the body, whorls of jade set in symmetrical patterns across the surface. The surrounding steel settings show signs of hard use, dents and nicks in the hard metal, yet amazingly the decorative patterns are still perfectly set, nothing missing...

That sounds as an overwhelming scene!

At first I got the idea it was about the first World War, but that changed in the second part ^_^.

I like it, the details make it possible to really get into the scene.
