Must Read First:
This game has opened up again and I am currently in Search of New Players for a second group. Let me be clear this a very simple easy-to-understand system of my own design. It will be fairly easy for players who have decent experience on Systematized games to learn this system quickly and sufficiently. If for some reason you haven't played any kind of system based games, it will be confusing at first yet fairly easy to understand once you grasp the concept. I can help you and teach it out to you, but the Q&A section on this post can help you out concerning most of the confusion. Basically this is a composite system of rules from various systems I've encountered and mixed them up while tweaking it to be very simple and effective enough to play it without being quite adept on System Dependent Games. The Initial Group that Started to try out the system are doing fine and are well on their way of getting the hang of this Homemade System. Thus, I decided to open the game once more and see who is willing to join a second team, separate location and quite relatively apart from the initial players who are already fighting for their lives in the dead infested world.

So to summarize it up, there are currently 6 players playing this game as a group and working together to survive. They are the first 6 players to join and the first/initial group of survivors in the world of the dead. Now I'm looking for a second set/group of survivors to partake a different scenario and location. This second group will be at the same State as the first group (Las Vegas) but at a different location and in time both groups will come into contact with each other, should events play out nicely. To be more Simple and Specific I am looking for 4-5 new players that will eventually be thrown into this world of survival. This game will based on survival and the choices you make along the way, it will be fast paced, grueling and should be approached with a strategical mind. Its not about the dice system or luck, even failing at rolls wouldn't matter if you would only choose the right decision at a very critical and dangerous scenario.

World Info and Events:
It was the year 2018. And the people of Earth have just found out extremely devastating news. A giant comet was heading towards Earth, and in 2 years it will hit, and demolish the world. The comet was going to make its giant impact in India but the force of blast will be sure to kill nearly all living life on earth’s surface. All bodies of government, and great thinkers came together to see if there was a way to destroy the comet before it could hit the earth. But it was too big and the Earth’s technology just wasn’t advanced enough to do anything to hurt it. So instead they turned to their hard working citizens to make bunkers throughout the world.

My story is going to be taking place in America. In America there were about 30 bunkers. Each of them was able to hold a good few hundred thousand people. On June 2nd, the comet had hit the Earth and the impact was great. The east and west coasts are flooded from the tsunamis that ensued shortly after the impact. The millions of people that weren’t able to get accepted into the bunkers were all destroyed by the blast. Although their bodies were still intact. However, there might have been a few people smart enough, and had enough money to build their own little bunkers. There was something interesting about this comet though. It had unleashed an airborne infection that spread around the world, infecting the bodies of those once dead. They are similar to what people would call zombies, so similar in fact that that was the name given to them by the remaining survivors. But there wasn’t just one kind of zombie, there are multiple. They all now roam the earth seeking out some fresh human flesh.   The infection also helped speed up their adaptability process. Those who may have drowned, didn’t die, they just became able swimmers and preferred the waters to land, and that's just the beginning.

It's been ten years since the impact of the comet. The people that survived the blast in the bunkers have all come out years ago to rebuild the world only to find that the world they once knew was very different. Some of them slowly turned into the infected. The virus was airborne and was turning those who weren't immune to it. Some of them however were immune but not completely. If you were bitten you would start to turn into them. Slowly but surely you would be infected. But there were a very small few that were completely immune to everything.

There were five groups of massive survivors and each of these groups ventured off and created communities for survivors. Los Angeles, CA, Las Vegas, NV, Denver, CO, St. Louis, IL, New York, NY.  Each of them had radio contact with one another and also broadcasted a radio transmission to those survivors out there to be able to find them. Unfortunately St. Louis has been completely overrun by zombies. There has been no contact from them for five months, and no one has gone to check for survivors, everyone is too scared to. And unfortunately a fourth one is on the brink of the same fate that St. Louis has succumbed too. Unfortunately this one is Las Vegas.

Scenarios concerning survivors:
This will help new players to know what will they expect to encounter and experience once they start the game. I placed the initial players' (Team 1) scenario in here to give you an idea how these group of people started our. Click on a Scenario below to review them.

Prologue Scenario of Team 1
The starting scenario of the first group was be about a small count of individuals who will witness the fall of the Las Vegas outpost and get out of it alive. all initials players will be placed at the brunt of it all as the zombies stampede there way into the outline defenses of the community. They wont be just normal zombies, These are pathogens that came from space so mostly there will be alot of zombies that the survivors hasn't seen before. It is the groups decision where to go, barricade yourselves in a house? hop from one place to the next each day? or set a goal to reach the other outlying state outposts. There will be no rest, for each scenario will put your group to decide whether to go right or left. Decision making, coordination and working together as a team of individuals will be the deciding factor of survival.

Prologue Scenario of Team 2
Now Team 2's scenario will actually be a team of civilians (perhaps a few military personnel which will be NPCs to protect them) that have been living at a Forward Lookout Station just north of the Las Vegas Compound. a few miles north of the town. The Civilians have their own reasons (please state within your biography on why) to live apart from the main society or perhaps was temporarily stationed there. This Lookout station will be well fortified and defended for its location is placed so far into the middle of the dead infested wastelands. Fortunately scientists have been experimenting and reforesting the dead earth for years and was able to regrow a massive rainforest atop the very bunkers that saved them from the asteroid in the first place. This rainforest will be quite close to the Lookout Center and might be the reason why civilians are there.  research or sightseeing, didn't matter. It was a step on revitalizing the earth.

Zombie Category:
This will be the list of Zombies that you will encounter in this world however this isn't really accurate. The list of zombies available to you currently are just the ones that were already encountered by people years ago who started rebuilding on the surface. New zombies would pop up eventually and they will be unclassified and unknown to any of you. but you don't need to worry about that now, since its just the beginning of the game. I'll just throw in a few easy ones to the group and see how well all of you synchronize with each other. Click on the Types of zombies for you to be able Review them.

Types of Zombies
Types of Zombies:

Zombie - This is your average flesh crazing zombie. Not much to say about them. Aim for the head!

Spitter - This is a zombie that shoots the infection from its mouth. Those who are immune to it will be blinded for a short period of time should the substance get in your eyes. If it gets you anywhere else, it will be completely harmless, unless of course these fluids enter the body through the mouth or open wounds. Should an individual be blinded by these substances it will take about a few minutes till a person's sight returns and the symptoms doesn't stop there, nausea and headaches will start to manifest after the initial blindness occurs. Handicapping individuals from firing a gun properly and running in a straight sprint. These symptoms will last an hour till the individual's immune system completely fights off the infection.

Siren - This zombie is as weak as your average zombie. It's got enhanced speed, but it's nothing special like the other more enhanced zombies out there. If you see it and you cannot kill if before it screams, then you're in a world of hurt. The howler zombie will call every zombie in the vicinity to it, specifically short of a half kilometer radius. Its screeching voice may be ear splitting but to every other zombie that hears it, that means its dinner time. If they scream, and you don't have an armed squad of army rangers that have a .50 caliber machine gun then you're pretty much going to die unless you get out of there fast.

Swimmer - A zombie that has advanced to the point where it swims. Its shape is nowhere near humanoid anymore, a hulking figure of flesh and bone and it's extremely similar to a crocodile with long legs and thus runs on 4 limbs. It prefers to stay in water, it's strongest in water, but it will go to land for food, while on land, it's a little faster than a regular zombie. It'll run after you, where as regular zombies will just walk. The older a zombie is the stronger, and more evolved it is. These zombies grow tails to help their swimming as well as gaining a snout to have a better range to catch their food. The tail will come first.

Hounds - These zombies get their name with pride. Not only do they hunt in packs and have an alpha zombie, but these are by far the fastest zombies you will encounter. They run on all fours and are intelligent enough to ambush a group of survivors, so watch out. If you're unarmed and you encounter these, you will NOT out run them. You're best bet is to climb something or get somewhere they can't get you. Alpha zombies are the fastest, strongest zombies of the group. If you kill the Alpha first then the other packs would eventually lose interest to give chase or even attack anymore, so taking out the rest of the pack would be easier. If you don't kill the alpha, and only some of the pack, what's left will follow you, until one of you are dead. They will track you down and the older they are, the further they'll follow you.

Thinker - These are the zombies that slowly became more aware to knowledge. It started with needed to open a door, going up an elevator, using simple electronics. There are rumors that some of them have even regained consciousness of their memories, or might even be able to speak. Though the infection has altered their perspective of good and bad. Everything they do is evil, no matter how smart, all they want to do is feed and they're going to use every bit of their infected intelligence to make sure they have a full stomach. Thinkers also eat their fellow zombies. Some of them have even taken over abandoned homes,so be wary when entering houses you think are inhabited by survivors. You might end up meeting a zombie smarter than you.

Grotesque - These zombies aren't what you would think. They're not to be underestimated and they're quite strong. The strongest ones can uproot trees, throw huge boulders, even zombies right at you. Its easy to tell them apart, you'll notice that they're arms are substantially larger. If you see them, shoot them in the head, as quick as possible because if the projectiles they fling at you doesn't kill you, they will rip you in half and then feed off your body. These Zombies are the slowest of all the evolved categories, yet faster then normal zombies, and they will throw anything they could get their hands on towards you while closing in on your spot. And as I tell you, you wouldn't like encountering these zombies up close and personal. Kill then from afar before they get too close.

Alright, now that you have reviewed what this game is all about, I'll go ahead and give you a layout on how to create your character.

Rules:
Follow these few guidelines and rules. Please Note of their importance. Click on the Set of Rules below to review them.
Set of Rules

- No God modding, fairly common in every game and takes out the fun. You'll just be fooling yourself if you do cheat.

- I know this sounds trite, but give your character a normal sounding modern name.  Jason Starkiller, Blademaster Chan, and Savage Orksmasher do not qualify as normal sounding names.

- I'm looking for most of the players to be white collar professional types or skilled blue collar tradesmen.  Your character would have had to pass both a psychological evaluation and a criminal background check to be accepted to even get access to the bunkers during the pre-apocalyptic days.  They would also have to have the funds for the buy in to access the underground bunkers.  I might allow a police officer or an ex-military character, but remember, they have to have a legal source of funds to afford the survival fee.  (Powerball or Mega Million lottery winnings are not going to work.)  If you have a concept for a character, let's see what we can do with it.

- You will be creating average people with average skills who are going to be thrust into a world that they have only seen pieces of in books and movies.  You might have been in the military at one point in your life, but you weren't a Delta Force or Force Recon operative.  You might have had some NBC training in the service, but you weren't a part of the CBIRF.

- Respect others and their differences. Don't argue. Really, it's a game. Name calling just makes you look like an immature child. Also, If you have an issue with someone - please take it to PM. All threads of arguments in public channels will not be tolerated. Please keep in mind that other players may not do what you want, and this is okay - the game is meant to be as realistic as possible. If someone doesn't want to do what you want, don't throw a tantrum.

- I have not created this game to watch people role play out sex scenes and/or see how much of a hack/slash game they can create.  There is a story to be told and you have chosen to take part in it.  Let's create something fun and entertaining. Sex and violence will occur however.

- You can have a max of two characters in this games as you like, so long as you can put the time into them both. Each character must be in a different group, as you can not have two of your characters in the same Team. To play another secondary character inform me and we will discuss it.

- Creating your Character's Stats will need to use Dices (1d100) so you'll have to send em the results to solidify your claim on a stats value. Send your Rolls to me (26220), so I'll be able to see the results.

- Other than those listed above, have fun and enjoy your stay.

Character Development

Character Details:
Here will be the start of your first step into the game. Molding out your character and creating his/her background/personality/appearance in your own way. Its pretty much straight forward and just fill in the required details and such. Click on the Character Sheet to see what infos are needed to be filled in.

Hair Color: Your character's hair color.
Eye Color: Your character's eye color.
Complexion: Your character's skin color.
Gender: Your character's sexuality, male or female.
Age: Your character's age.

Inventory: For now all characters will have a handgun (9 shots), standard issue for all who were accepted in the underground bunkers. Other items will be listed down well within their personality and profession. cant have you placing a ninja sword in there while your character is a former dentist. -Note- A normal person can only carry 5 items, and will need a bag to carry more than is available to him. Backpacks or whatever kind of bags will not be permitted at the start of the game. you will need to find it or scavenge for it and they will be quite rare.

Notes: All Characters will Start with a Standard Issue handguns for all Survivors. All members of society have been given the authorization to wield handguns special issue distributed to the populace for emergencies. its a Glock 26', holding about 9 shots. No extra bullets or ammo was given to the citizens for they were never entitled to police the streets. those guns were only for protection from random encounters. It will help civilians for awhile till they reach the proper authorities and safe houses without needing alot of bullets. apparently this safety system has it flaws and you will all know soon enough what that is.

Appearance:
Please give a brief description of your character's appearance. Include physical traits like hair and eye color, general build, and so on, but also include traits such as their customary dress and habit of speech. You may include a picture or a link to a picture if you so desire, but you must also describe your character's appearance with words. These questions are, in part, meant to gauge your writing style.

Personality:
Please give a brief description of your character's personality. Be sure to describe how they think of themselves, and also how others tend to perceive them, especially if there is a disconnect there (e.g., a shy character who inwardly thinks that they would be a natural leader).

Character Background:
Please give a brief history of your character's life so far. It may help to include information about their family and friends, particularly if they live inside the underground bunkers with your character.

Occupation:
Describe your character's profession or calling. What do they do? This decision determines your character's starting equipment, their starting prestige within the community, and their general wealth.

ROLL STATS
As I stated before, this is a system of compiled rules from various games I've encountered and made it simple while tweaking it for faster and easier game-play. The game uses eight rolled statistics/attributes (STR, DEX, AGI, CONS, INT, WIS, CHAR, LCK) and several calculated ones to help define your character for all of us.  Roll percentile dice (a 100 sided dice; 1d100) for each primary stat.  Please be sure to label each stat when you roll it. Should you be unsatisfied with a certain roll, you can re-roll two primary stats of your choosing.

The primary stats/attributes are as follows:
Strength: Physical prowess used for lifting, carrying, and melee combat.
Dexterity: Hand and eye coordination used for gun combat, throwing and other activities.
Agility: A character's whole body's ability to move.
Constitution: Measure of one's physical defense and toughness to endure wounds and attacks.
Intelligence: A Character's Cognitive or Deduction ability.
Wisdom: The measure of a character's common sense, or the lack of it.
Charisma: The measure of a character's likeability and personal magnetism.
Luck: Because sometimes it really is better to be lucky than good.

Notes: If you are rolling for an attribute while getting the results of 10 or lower, I will give you an automatic re roll for that attribute.

HP/SP Stats (These stats will help you measure out the damage you have taken and how long before your body starts to feel fatigued or dead):
Body Points:  Add your Strength and Constitution Stats to get the value of your HP.
Stamina Points:  Double your Constitution Stats to get the results.

Skills and Abilities:
These section will focuse on choosing your skills. There will three main categories

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:
Pick Three (From the list below) that would best describe the major aspects of your character's career, list them, then roll percentile dice (1d100) for your character's skill level.  Since this is a professional skill, if the skill roll is below fifty (50), add thirty (30) to the roll value.  If the skill roll is between fifty-one and eighty, take the skill up to ninety.  If the roll is already eighty or more, good rolling.

REGULAR SKILLS:
Pick Five skills (From the list below) that your character uses on a regular basis.  List them, then roll a straight percentage roll (1d100) for your skill level. There will be no bonus adds for rolls pertaining to regular skills

SPARE TIME SKILLS:
Pick Three hobbies for your character. (list down anything that are of real life hobbies) For example: Tennis,Basketball,Fishing,Chess, etc. These are activities that your character does to relax. List them down, then make percentile rolls divided by two (1d100/2) to get the hobby's skill level. Round halves up to the larger number. These Hobbies will be related to the List of Skills (See below) and I will be the one tying them up to what kind of skill will they be related to. Okay let me give you an idea; Lets say you chose Basketball, Chess, and Reading Books for your Past time hobbies. I'll then relate those hobbies to the Skills (List of Skills below) available in the game. Basketball (Throw Skill), Chess (Concentration Skill), Reading Books (Read Skill).

Now Take your time, click on the List of Skills stated below and review the necessary skills that your character will likely possess.

GAMEPLAY:
This will be a simple rundown on how we will calculate and decide attempts leading from one's action to another. There will be Four Factors that will be taken to account. Always remember this formula, if doing any attempts "Difficulty + Attribute + Skill + Character Status =" only 4 things to remember. and in order. always remember this.. We will be using a Dice Roll (1d10) to simulate the outcome of an attempt, whether you have failed to execute or succeed.

Difficulty Levels:Tasks that you attempt will have difficulty levels.  Most of the time, characters will have automatic successes when doing professional or regular skills at an easy or average difficulty level.  For example, a Doctor or Nurse changing a patient's bandage is a no-brainer. These will be the number of your base value for an attempt. It will be your Attributes, Skills, and Status job to modify the base value to a more reasonable and able attempt.

Easy                                   5
Average                              8
Difficult                              10
Hard                                  12
Impossible-                        14
You want me to do what?     16

Roll Modifiers for Attributes and Skills:
How well your body works can affect how well you can do something.  For example, a person with a low agility might not be able to sneak about as well as someone who can move his foot at the last second to avoid stepping on that stick which snaps loudly when broken.

Stat Value  01 to 40      -1
Stat Value  41 to 80      -2
Stat Value  81 to 100    -3

Character Status and its Values
How well rested your body is lately? How is your body feeling? Is it in any Pain? Are you Blinded temporarily? Bound Temporarily? these will help out in how you can easily accomplish a task. This will help you alot in deciding whether to attempt a difficult or easy action. Stamina points will have a huge influence of these factors aswell.

Top Shape (81%-100% Stamina Values)      -1
Well Rested (61%-80% Stamina Values)       0
Tired (41%- 60% Stamina Value)               +1
Fatigued (20%-40% Stamina Values)          +2
Near Death (0%-20% Stamina Value)         +3
Notes: Should your HP fall to about 15% of its base value, you'll be at a Near Death Scenario aswell.

Temporary Status:
These will replace your current status with these brief ailments. They wont last long and you would eventually revert back to your previous status once the effect is over.
Enhanced (This will be drug related usage from Adrenaline, Morphine, Etc)   -2
Restricted (if you have injured a leg, broken an arm, etc)                          +1
Blinded (Spitter Exposure or other result)                                                 +3

-----------Attempts and Rolls------------
Ok how will these values affect your attempts and finalize the results? Easy. Just Use the base value of a difficulty, which I will point out how hard your attempt will be and go on from there. First add your attributes into the base difficulty value and then add in your current status value to it aswell. Once the total Value has been computed, then you'll have the final value in which you will needing to roll for a successful attempt.

Let me give you an example in a step by step simple explanation:
Step 1: I will give out an event where a normal zombie is heading for you
Step 2: You decided you will be attempting to shoot a normal zombie in the head with a handgun. as you so roleplayed.
Step 3: I will tell you the difficulty of this attempt and for this instance it will be a fairly difficult attempt for a ex-handyman to pull a head shot off.
Step 4: Your base value will be difficult = 10, Since your firing a gun, then will be using the Dexterity Value in which case is a 43 (Stat Value 41 to 80 = -2) and since you did not choose or have the skills to fire pistols, your modifier will be 0 for the skill section. You current Status should we say Well Rested (0 modifier). then its time to compute.

Base Difficulty + Attribute + Skill + Status = Attempt Value
          10                  -2              0          0    =            8

Step 5: So then your Final value is 8. You will have to roll using 1d10 and get a value of 8 and above to actually succeed in the attempt.

That Simple. Anymore questions can be directed at me, and I'll explain it in more details or you can also read the Q&A section further down, and will probably satisfy most of your questions.

TEAM 1
Group Consists of 6 Survivors
Atlanta Davis - Professional Race Car Driver
Name: Atlanta Davis
Hair Color: Short Black Hair
Eye Color: Blue Eyes
Complexion: Pale
Gender: Male
Age: 29
Inventory:
Handgun (9)
A Pack of Cigarettes
Pocket Knife
Compass

Appearance: Male roughly 6'1" tall and 160 pounds. Athletic build with short black hair. Blue eyes. Atlanta has on his person a relatively new Glock 19. He keeps it in a leg holster on his right leg. He
wears a pair black jeans, leather boots, and a fitted shirt on most occasions. He tends to have an angry look on his face but its nothing personal. He's just always in a bad mood. Atlanta is quite a
physically imposing man. His frame is well built, carrying hardly any body fat at all.  He is quite the upper body strength, of course, stands to reason considering his height and leanness.  His physical
form displays traits one might expect from a Germanic heritage with wide shoulders and a broad chest. He has a muscled physique that pairs quite nicely with the broadness of his frame. Lean and chiseled are his traits with fair, but not pale, skin. From stem to stern, Atlanta possesses otherworldly good looks trapped in the form of a twenty nine year old man.  That soft complexion juxtaposed sharply with jet black hair that sits atop his head; icy blue orbs of eyes set above defined cheek bones.

Personality: When it comes to business, Atlanta can be a quite serious individual.  He is always looking towards the future and working towards attaining continued success.  Honor is an important concept to Atlanta, which includes not only being treated with due respect, but also treating others well when it is due.  Honor goes much deeper than that, being rooted in one's past, but also in one's present actions. Atlanta is not all about business, although some might attempt to dispute that fact.  He has a strong love of the arts and a wide selection of arts as well.  In fact, he himself is an artist at heart, being quite skilled in a number of areas.  There are even times when he actually has a chance to relax and enjoy the moment.  At these times, he has been known to smile and actually appear quite the extrovert.

Background: Growing up a with a love of cars, Atlanta’s father enrolled him in racing classes when he was 16 and he fell in love with racing.  His mother insisted that he had some form of “formal” education so Atlanta attended Universal Technical Institute under their NASCAR Tech program. He raced on weekends and studied during the weeks.  Once he finished he was quick to join the circuit and was soon the newest, up and coming rookie of the circuit though most of his driving was as a secondary driver. Then Atlanta caught his big break and was slated to introduced the “Car of Tomorrow” – NASCAR Dodge Avenger - in Las Vegas and begin his professional career just when the announcement of the impending meteor.

Occupation: Professional Race Car Driver - Due to his fast success and pace to be quite formidable on the race track, he found relative sponsors to fund his career and in the event of the apocalyptic disaster, these sponsors were not quite ready to let go thier invesment just yet. They gave Atlanta and only him a free buy in to the Underground Bunkers to survive the coming Armaggedon.

Dave Osbourne - Drug Dealer
Name: Dave Osbourne
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Brown
Complexion: Lightly tanned with freckles.
Gender: Male
Age: 21

Inventory:
Handgun (9)
Zippo
Cigarette case with 20 Djarum Blacks
Half bag of weed
Eighth of mushrooms

Appearance:
He stood about 5'10" 150 lbs, with long brown hair that fell around his shoulders in natural curls that any woman would be jealous of.  His eyes were a matching shade of brown, there was a glint of mischief in those eyes.

Personality: People always wondered about him, why was he so cheerful.  The truth was he loved it, loved everything about it, I mean this was it the end of the world and he had a ringside seat.

Character Background:
He grew up normal enough, work-a-holic dad, stay at home mom, he fell into drug use at a young age, marijuana, lsd, and mushrooms mostly....he really liked the mushrooms.. he'd get stoned and play video games.  Survival horror games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill were his favorites.  He started dealing midway through high school, it was a perfect fit for him.  He could just hang out and get high and best of all he had a nice tidy income, he had to hide the money from his parents but that wasn't hard, his Dad was hardly home and his mom just couldn't.....wouldn't see what her son was becoming.  When he graduated high school he told his parent's he'd gotten a full scholarship to the University of Nevada's Las Vegas campus, they bought it hook line and sinker.  Even paid for his plane ticket.  In truth he had  hookup out there, he could just keep living the way he'd been.

Occupation:
Small time drug dealer, he avoids needle drugs and stimulants as a general rule (too much drama), dealing mostly in marijuana and psychedelics.

Redrick Schuhart - Expert Chef
Name: Redrick "Red" Schuhart
Hair Color: Dark red
Eye Color: Green
Complexion: Caucasian, ruddy
Gender: Straight male
Age: 29

Inventory:
Standard Issue Handgun
Insulin Pump
Continuous blood glucose monitor
Glucose Tablets (Two packages of ten tablets, used for immediate treatment of low blood sugars)
Three vials of Humalog (fast acting insulin; enough to last him about 27 days)

Appearance:
A short man at about five and a half feet or just a bit more or less, Redrick is slim and lithe; he has a very athletic, but also frail, look to him. His red hair is straight, naturally lustrous, and barely comes down to his shoulders. His green eyes tend to dart around rather nervously, possibly a quite common thing in these dangerous times.  On any given day, Red, as he prefers to be called, will be sporting a short sleeved t-shirt, plain denim pants that have become worn, torn and faded over the years, and steel-toed boots that have clearly seen better days. During the daytime, he wears a black cloth hat and sunglasses that completely obscure his eyes.

Personality:
Red is usually nervous around other people, and is known as a somewhat flighty, some might say eccentric, person. Others just call him crazy.  He wants, desperately, to be a self sufficient man, but a life time of health problems has led him to be heavily reliant on others. While he gladly accepts the help he needs, he hates himself for being so damn weak. Few people, however, have the privilege of seeing that side of him; he wears a metaphorical mask of serene happiness quite well. Despite this, some call him a cynic; though he views himself as a realist.  If their's one thing Redrick is unflinchingly confident in, however, it's his ability to turn just about anything into a delicious meal (although he's actually only 'decent' at best).

Character Background:
Redrick is, as far as he knows, the only one of his family to survive the end of the world. Not that he much cared for them. "Your father reeks of elderberries and your mother is a hampster", as the Monty Python movie goes, is actually an apt description of his own family. After his deadbeat father left his mother, his mom just spent all her time throwing herself at different men. Being an only child, this left Redrick with a lot of time to himself; this was typically spent reading, writing (crappy stories and poems), swimming and spending far too much time with video games.

One of the joys in his life was the old but still well-liked among the youth activity of Parkour; gifted with a high degree of flexibility and an agile body, he was a born natural at this.

Because of all the liars and assholes his mom has dated (and painfully insisted upon introducing him to), he's gotten somewhat good at figuring out what people are up to; typically, just trying to get some sex out of his mom and move on.

After graduating highschool, he spent three years at Johnson & Wales culinary school. After that, he returned home to Vegas and began to work as a chef at one of the many large resort casinos that dominated the city.

He knows a small amount of first aid, because unfortunately enough, accidents do happen in the kitchen; people get burnt, accidentally cut, slip and fall, and occasionally even worse things. Having a weakened immune system and being diabetic has also led to him having a casual interest in medicine and treating wounds.

Despite his predilection towards solitary activities, he has nonetheless found himself occasionally playing a round of cards with some of the other survivors to help pass the time.

One should note that Redrick's health is a very, very fragile thing; born a type 1 diabetic, he requires insulin to live (this is representative of how low his constitution is). Like many diabetics, he gets sick easily, and his body does not recover from injury and exertion well. Luckily for him, the bunker had a well stocked pharmacy, possessing large quantities of insulin, and it's kept him alive for this long...but now that everything is fucked up, it's really just a question of when will he die?

Occupation:
Cooking has always been a passion for Redrick. He cooked when he was young, he cooked when he was older, right up until the world ended...and then he kept on cooking,  in the underground bunker, and even once they left it behind to try to colonize the surface.

Cassie Randall - Typical Average Girl
Name: Cassie Randall
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Very dark brown
Complexion: Caucasian, slightly pale
Gender: Female
Age: 24

Inventory:
• Handgun and some ammo
• Sewing kit she keeps in a bag at her waist
• A pair of walkie talkies
• A bag of food with a bottle of water

Appearance:

Cassie is a young woman with a fine featured face, dark hair and brown eyes so dark they appear nearly black as well. She has a slight figure, genetically gifted to not put on much weight, but also not much in the way of muscle. She has a graceful way of moving that implies, in a better world, she might have been a dancer. She is soft-spoken and carries herself with a lack of confidence, as though she is constantly afraid.

Personality:
Cassie is a nice girl, probably too nice for the world in which she now lives. The comets hit when she was a freshman in high school, and she only made it into a bunker because her father was wealthy and secured her a spot, even though he didn't make it in himself. Without skills, Cassie just got by as best she could in the bunker, doing whatever needed to be done. Having grown up in a luxurious household, and then spending time in the bunker followed by sticking with survivors afterward, Cassie has always lived in an environment where she has been taken care of. She is capable of hard work and shouldering her share of the load, but she is not accustomed to an unstructured environment. She becomes flustered when faced with a decision that doesn't have an automatic answer, and she tends to look toward someone else to lead her.

Background:
Cassie's father was an executive with a pharmaceutical company, and she grew up in luxury. She was never a spoiled child, but she also never wanted for anything. She was just entering high school when disaster struck and never really got to start her life. Going from a life of plenty to an existence of rationing was hard for her, but Cassie has adapted over the years. After leaving the bunker, she stuck with survivor groups, careful to never be alone. Her small size and graceful dexterity have made her a good lookout, and she often serves on recon duty, though she rarely physically engages zombies, preferring to leave that to braver and more capable members of her group.

Occupation:
Before the comets, Cassie was a typical, well-to-do teenager in her first year of high school. As such, she had no real skills when she entered the bunker. There, she did whatever needed to be done, primarily menial chores. After leaving the bunker, she has developed into a lookout and has nurtured stealth skills, her primary focus being to stay alive.

Lauren Reed - Well Known Writer
Name:   Lauren Reed
Hair:  Dark Brown
Eyes:   Blue/Gray
Complexion: Caucasian, Fair
Gender: Female
Age:   25

Inventory
Handgun
Hamlet
Notebook
Mechanical Pencil
MP3 Player loaded with the best music.

Appearance:   Lauren is five-foot-eight and athletically built.  She has dark hair which was cut short before entering the bunker and has grown out to hang to the middle of her back.  She generally dresses for comfort in old jeans and T shirts, preferring sneakers to pumps.  She’s average-looking, cute more than pretty with an upturn to the tip of her nose and untamable hair

Personality:  Lauren is comfortable in her own skin.  She is who she is and if someone doesn’t like her, she’s fine with that, not feeling any compunction to “make” people like her. This attitude is sometimes intimidating to people.  She’s found that she gets along best with law-enforcement types (cops, military, PIs, etc.)  She generally has a soft heart that she keeps well-hidden unless someone or something is in need of help.  She’s loyal and painfully honest, having to learn how to soften the blows of her opinions as she made more friends in the business world.  Like anything, she realized she needed to learn this and due to her agile mind, now she is able to find the right words to tell the truth kindly.

She does not see herself as a leader or spokesperson, but often friends would turn to her for answers.

Background:  Born to a single mother, Lauren was raised to be strong and independent.  Her mother’s attitude was “figure it out” and Lauren inherited this trait and took it a bit further to “if it’s broken, you can’t hurt it so figure it out” for repairing small electronics or even her own auto.  Her independence was put to the test when her mother died of cancer (pancreatic) when Lauren was 17.  She became an emancipated minor and put herself through college with insurance money, grants, and working as a waitress.  In her junior year in college, Lauren wrote a story.  Since the best stories are based on what you know, she wrote about a waitress who was also a private investigator.  Because she loved to learn things, Lauren took classes so she would be able to write about every stunt or activity her character would be performing, particularly enjoying martial arts.  The book sold and so she wrote another book; it was a reason to learn even more.  At the time of seclusion, Lauren held a small craft fixed-wing pilot’s license, a red belt in Taekwondo, had learned to shoot but hated it, could shoot a bow, knew the essentials to tracing people via computers but would never, ever hack a system to do so (not that she could), and was damned good at reading people’s intent (this from hours of ride-alongs with cops and viewing interviews as well as taking classes).

Her first book was going to be made into a movie, but the big rock came first.

Personality:

Background: Ricky was born and raised in Washington state, far from the coast and high in the foothills of the Rockies.  He graduated high school, then dropped out of college after one semester, signing up with the Air Force.  He quickly changed to the Army after a few weeks.  He was wounded in Iraq in 2007, and was honorably discharged a year later.  He spent the next eight years working as a truck driver, living on the road, and saving up his money and his VA checks.  When the bunkers starting being built, Ricky found himself out of work.  He got a job and a reputation as a bouncer, working the various clubs in the Las Vegas area (the delivery point of his final truck).

:Questions and Answers Regarding the System:

How do you exactly compute for the Target Roll Value?
Answer
Always remember this formula, if doing any attempts "Difficulty + Attribute + Skill + Character Status =" only 4 things to remember and these must be in order. Do remember this always.

Step 1. Should I point out that a Task you are doing will be Difficult, (looking up the chart in the rules section; Difficult is 10) add the value of the difficulty to the equation.

10 +

Now we go look at your Attribute, For example you are attempting to Spot something; Since Spotting something (Spot Skill) is related to Wisdom (See Skill List for attribute relations) then we will use your Wisdom, which by example is 33. This chart (Quoted below) is in the rules section also found at the Difficulty Levels Section, since your attribute is 33, it falls in the category of (Stat Value  01 to 40) which is -1. so we add that to the equation.
QuoteStat Value  01 to 40      -1
Stat Value  41 to 80      -2
Stat Value  81 to 100    -3

10 + (-1)

Now we go to the next variable of the equation, The Skill. Lets for example say while creating your character you didn't choose Spot to put in either, Pro, Regular, or Spare Categories and chose others. Then you don't need to know what your modifier is. Let me explain, since your character didn't choose or have Spot as an active skill on either, Professional, Regular, or Sparetime then you don't have anything for it, which results in an automatic 0. lets add that to the equation.

10 + (-1) + (0)

Okay, on to the next Variable. You Character Status. What your Character is feeling, how tired or how healthy he/she is feeling right now. Find the Character Status and its Values Section for references on its chart regarding that status on the rule section. Lets for Example say your character is Well Rested. Since you are Well Rested (Dont forget to look at the chart to make sure), this gives you a 0 value also, which if we add that to the equation will be like this.

10 + (-1) + (0) + (0) =

Now we got the equation done. Its Complete from Left to Right, The Difficulty, The Attribute, The Skill, and The Status. Now its time to solve it:

10 + (-1) + (0) + (0) = 9

All Dice rolls for attempts should be rolled with a 10 sided dice (1d10). Once you have solved the equation you get the value needed to roll. in this case 9. You will roll one (1d10) ten sided dice. and you need to get a 9, or a 10 to be successful. getting 8 and below means a failure. so you have a 20% chance to be successful since you need only one of two numbers to succeed while 80% chance of failing for getting one of eight numbers out of ten.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Another Example:

Step 1. I'll give out a Difficulty of Average. Since the Difficulty is Average, (looking up the chart in the Rules section; Average is 8) add the value of Average to the equation.

8 +

Now lets simulate that we are doing an attack using a gun. Firstly we go look at the attribute, Since you are shooting for example a pistol, look at the Skill List Section you will notice that Pistols is related to Dexterity then thats it. We will use a Dexterity equivalent of  98. This chart (Below) is in the Roll Modifiers for Attributes and Skills Section also, since his attribute is 98, it falls in the category of (Stat Value  81 to 100) which is -3. so we add that to the equation.
QuoteStat Value  01 to 40      -1
Stat Value  41 to 80      -2
Stat Value  81 to 100    -3

8 + (-3)

Now we go to the next variable of the equation, The Skill. Lets say you have a Pistol Skill set in your Character's Skill, more specifically in the Regular section which is an 51 value. That is his Pistol statistics, which by following the chart again (below), it falls in the category of (Stat Value  41 to 80) which is -2. so we add that to the equation.
QuoteStat Value  01 to 40      -1
Stat Value  41 to 80      -2
Stat Value  81 to 100    -3

8 + (-3) + (-2)

Okay, on to the next Variable. The Character Status. Reference the chart regarding Statuses on the Character Status and its Values Section. Since for example you are in a top notch state, this gives your character a -1 value, which if we add to the equation will be like this.

8 + (-3) + (-2) + (-1) =

Now we got the equation done. Its time to solve it:

8 + (-3) + (-2) + (-1) = 2

Once you have solved the equation and gets the value needed to roll. in this case 2. you will roll one (1d10) ten sided dice. and you will need to get  a 2, a 3, a 4,a 5, a 6, a 7, an 8, a 9, or a 10 (2 and above) to be successful. Getting 1 however would mean a failure. so in this equation you so have a 90% chance of success. and a 10% chance of failure since by rolling a 1 the attempt/attack would fail.

What's the use of Stamina Points (SP)?
Answer
Attacking or any kind of Combat Action costs 2 Stamina Points (SP). Doing a Skill attempt of any kind (Spot, Slight of Hand, Investigate) will cost 5 Stamina Points (SP). Let me repeat this in detail, you'll have to minus 2 stamina points (SP) for each attacking action you make. Only Attacking/Firing a gun costs 2 stamina points. These are the ones in the Skill List under the Exceptional Skill Category (Melee, Unarmed, Pistols, Explosives, Etc). And remember, the other Skills listed in the Skill chart (Tumble, Spot, Computer Use, etc) are what you call Normal Skills. Attempting on using them Costs more than attacking. 5 stamina points per Skill Attempt.

How many times can we attack or attempt a skill on one post?
Answer
Dont limit yourselves with one attack one post. fighting is fast and grueling in this game. Enemies will have one fight action per post but players will be given two attacks (Battle Attempts) per one post. (keep an eye on your stamina points and ammo though) Non-fighting/Non-battle attempts (Spot, Tumble, Sleight of hand etc.) costs 2 actions so as such you will be able to do only one Skill Attempt per post even in a battle situation. To Summarize; Fighting actions (Melee, Punching, Firing a Gun, etc.) can be done twice in one post and cost 2 stamina each. Skill Actions (Repair, Listen, Tumble, Balance, etc.) which are not exceptional can be done only once per post and cost 5 stamina each.

And regarding Skill Attempts and the process of Attempting a roll, note that while some attempts like firing a gun at something, attacking a zombie, avoiding hazardous things, picking a lock or searching for loots have unlimited attempts until you succeed. Some attempts however are crucially limited. you have one chance and one chance alone to make a successful roll. and do realize this one chance counts as a group and not individually. should it fail, you would have missed your chance. I will post an event cutting off further actions and the scenario will move on while hindering the others from attempting the same task. Only one person can roll for a limited rare task. So if a task you think is crucial for you and your team, please review all your teammates stats and make the necessary decision on who will do the attempt, for better chance of success.

Can the handgun or any other projectile weapons be used as a melee attack, by pistol-whipping or such?
Answer
Yes. but instead of the usual Modifiers such as Dexterity and Pistol you will change the modifier should you compute the formula to Strength and Melee.

If our character DOES die, what do we do?
Answer
In my game, your characters are quite durable. you will be overwhelmed and pushed back to a corner but surely you will not die, Not yet anyways. I dont think early events in the game will be enough to kill anyone unless for the later parts (very very very much later parts/scenarios) and should you die, either you quit the game or make a new character which in bonus to your death, I will grant you to salvage your previous character's corpse and take those items for your new character. Not only that, I'll take out the character restrictions, enabling you to create a well trained Military Personel or be the enemy as a thinker (a very very smart Thinker).

A Military Class Character has these advantages;
Can have 2 Exceptional Skills as a Professional Skill Trait
Can have 4 Exceptional Skills in total
Doubled Stamina and HP
(Note While playing as a Trained Soldier, I will concentrate most enemies towards you and mostly you.)

A Thinker Class Character has these advantages:
Agility Attribute Automatically set to 100
You'll get to hinder and punish your previous teammates.
Able to move freely in the undead infested world which makes for an easier scavenge of loots.
As a thinker you can only be killed one way, and that's a head-shot. plus you have a high agility rating, which makes you an impossible target.

How will you be factoring luck into things? Will we have luck based rolls for somethings, or will it be sort of a hidden, background stat giving us unseen modifiers to certain events? Or more like a guideline for how rough or easy we have it?
Answer
Luck will be a modifier for me. The GM. Zombies will also attempt things to kill or to hinder the group. Will they be able to hit you or not. your Luck + Agility will be a modifier that I will be using to execute success or failure on the enemies part. Luck also gives you better loots from opening boxes, lockers and such.

Also, are there varying degrees of success or failure?  If the difficulty check is 2 for looking across the town, and I rolled a 7 which is more than one and farther away from the needed value, would I see more than if I had rolled a 2 or a 3?
Answer
Sadly the degree of success will only come as a simple success or failure nothing further than that. Just to make it simple for all players. Although, this is where your curiosity on why you have rolled a "Luck" stats in your sheets come to play. Luck + Agility will be used as a modifier for me as I attempt attacks using zombies and rogue NPCS (yes there will be human enemies). but other than that, Luck influences the quality of loots and finds. But the good news is, Luck will always influence all attempts the players will make. however the rolls will be controlled by me and will be later implemented once your post is done.

For example:
You rolled a successful Spot attempt then you'll be able to see what is needed normally as I narrate them to you. but I can narrate more information to you should your successful attempt pass the luck test. In which case giving your character will see more more details than he would likely would have seen should the Luck check fail.

Note: If you fail an attempt on your part, I wont be needing to check your luck since its useless.

Another Example:
You chose to shoot a zombie in the head and you succeeded. then its my turn to roll a luck check for you. should it fail, then you'll most likely just kill the zombie. should you be lucky and a successful luck check was accomplished, I shall post (after your post of-course, including the zombie dying) an add on information that you had made a critical shot and the bullet passed right through that zombie's head and into another zombie's head or hitting a gas tank killing one more zombie along with it. killing two in one shot.

Now that's what you call luck.

So our Characters can only carry 5 items at a time? Do Items Stack?
Answer
Small Items (Syringe, Cigarettes, Pencils, Toothpick, etc.) can stack. Weapons or items relatively larger (Guns, Radio, Book, etc) depending on the size cannot be stacked. Items that are really large will take up two space. (examples are jackhammers, flag pole, etc). Usually I'll tell you how many spaces that certain item will take in your inventory.

Since you can only carry 5 items. you cannot exceed past that limit and note that some items take about 2 item spaces but there is something that players can exploit in. Its a temporary inventory space but these are only available during fight scenarios. For example your character isn't equipped with a gun and you already have a full inventory. You'll have to quickly request a gun from a teammate, then that teammate can throw you a gun. There will be no need for attempt checks (however I'll be throwing out a luck check for you to see if you'll be able to catch the gun or it may land somewhere near you.) if your luck check fails and the gun was thrown pass you, you'll need a dex + tumble check to retrieve the gun again. Once the fight is over, it is imperative that you give back the excess baggage to the specific teammate.

Don't you ever tame your demons

I have NEVER played a system based game, and normally find it too hard to follow. However you mention it'll be a 'light' system.

Easy for a complete newbie to system's to follow?

I have a char I made for a zombie game, but no guns or cars were allowed. I still have her. She owned and ran a bar. Would she work? I'd really love to kill me some zombies...maybe...

This will be a system based game, but will heavily rely on decision making and teamwork.

It will be lighter than most systems, for it will be a compilation of known systems and compress it into a more simple way to do things. its easy enough to learn even for a beginner, you'll just have to carefully read the rules and ask others or me anything that might have confused you regarding the system explanation.

---NOTES: I have updated the top post. I have added in the Character Creation Procedures and even added the information on how the gameplay will be executed. Read them carefully, and should you still want to join, fill out the necessary Sheets.---

Insulin (four vials of two different types; long acting Levemir and short acting Humalog)
Needles (Package of 20 100 cc one-use needles)

@ Hangedman, Since you are a chef and you cannot use melee for a professional skill. use sleight of hand. You can put melee in the regular skill section. Since you are a chef, you can be quite good at listening around for new orders and what not. the Listen feat can be quite useful. and about the spare time skills that you have listed down. pleases use real life hobbies to enumerate the list. like either surfing the web, swimming, golfing. and with common sense, try to align it with a skill attribute. swimming = swim feat, golfing = melee feat, etc.

Laz

Name: Atlanta Davis
Hair Color: Short Black Hair
Eye Color: Blue Eyes
Complexion: Pale
Gender: Male
Age: 29
Inventory:
Handgun

Okay. Changed up the skills. How do they look now? Also added a bit more history, and changed his age. The descriptive text said it's been about  ten years, so he couldn't have gone to a cooking academy and gotten a job when he was 13...

Did you modify and add 30 to your professional rolls should it fall under 50?

and you wanted a harder game anyways.  ;D goodluck.

TheHangedOne

Yup. The roll for Profession (Chef) was 5.  I laughed hard. And cried a little from laughing so hard.

So, as it stands, Redrick is basically a ninja-chef.  :-)

Edit: Added a bit more to his history to explain why he has a 93 in Tumble.

Lmao. must be quite the cook. High scores on melee, tumble and listen. I can see it now "Redrick listened attentively to his surrounding and picks up an incoming zombie horde heading his way and he rolls away to safety".  :o go ninja go.

Edit: Once you have finalized your character sheet, I will place each of those forms on the top most post of this thread, to help players easily go through what their teammates will be and how well they will be of use to the team in specific situations

I'm done with mine.

Edit: Addendum: How will you be factoring luck into things? Will we have luck based rolls for somethings, or will it be sort of a hidden, background stat giving us unseen modifiers to certain events? Or more like a guide line for how rough or easy they have it, or..?

Luck will be a modifier for me. The GM. Zombies will also attempt things to kill or to hinder the group. Will they be able to hit you or not. your luck + agility will be a modifier that I will be using to execute success or failure on the enemies part. Luck also gives you better loots from opening boxes, lockers and such.

I have added both your character sheet including mine on the top most post of the thread. If you need to review your sheets, just look at them there, no need to find your posts. and if you need to edit something, please inform me so I can make the changes. Inventory changes will be updated by me. Although during in game playthroughs, you will relatively have to post a constant state of your inventory using the spoiler tag in every posts you make.

TheHangedOne

Groovy. So I guess Red really will be a ninja. 91 agility and 78 luck... and 93 tumble to boot.  :o

Oh dear. lol. you'll be quite the athlete for a sick sick man. and since you wanted a diabetic man to play as, your Status will always be tired (+1 modifier for you). that will give you a bit of a hard start.
