I’ll allow since your patrolling the Romulan sector and could have Klingons or Romulans trying to kill you when you go anywhere, it but it’s going to go along the lines of an elite tactical squad like from star trek elite force 1 & 2.

so what sort of load out do we have? tactical sensor science supply?

its a boarder patrol mission, so its going to be fitted out for tactical mission, this means more weapons but your sensors wont be as good

   Not so long ago there was an angry young man named Malko.  His mother and breathed to see him earn what she had not, joining with a Trill Symbiot.  When he finished a round of studies, she pushed him into athletics.  When he finished a round of athletics, she pushed an artistic class upon him.  When he slept she was there before he could wake on his own with more studies.  When he refused, she nagged, needled, cried, and prayed to the heavens to forgive a failed mother. 

   At the height of adolescent rage, Malko knew what he had to do.  His rebellion ceased and he threw himself into studies and training with all his heart, dreaming of the day when he would be offered a symbiot and decline. 

   For all the strength he believed he had, on Malko’s nineteenth birthday, his convictions wavered and his act of defiance failed.  The next day, waking from a surgical haze, he slowly explored in his mind what it was to be Aurin Malko. 

   He wasn’t weak anymore.  When his mother began regaling him with her plans for a rich and prosperous life in oceanic science, Malko calmly pressed send on the data pad and began to pack.  The plans went on, his mother not seeming to notice.  The big trill embraced her and kissed her gently on the forehead.  “I’m going to Star Fleet now, mother.  Don’t you think it’s time for you to find a ship of you own. 

   Four years later, Aurin Malko had completed the officer’s program at the Starfleet academy and his  mother was out at sea, studying alga, content with who she was for the first time in her life. 

   Malko is the fourth Aurin. 

   Aurin is regaurded as a bit of a Xenopheliac even by symbiot standards.  With it's first host, Chiss, she spent decades amongst orions. 

With his second host, Sabian, she lived in the klingon empire and died in the dominion war.  (Aurin has the symbiot transporter alergy.  After emergency beam off of an exploding ship in the dominion war, Star Fleet Medical Officers were unable to save Sabian and almost lost Aurin.) 

Aurin's third host, Jedek, was a serene and intelgent astrophysicist who spent a lot of time alone but had strong ties to the vulcan science academy.  A musician, Aurin Jedek mastered the vulcan lute. 

Aurin Malko is the first Aurin in star fleet.  He is freinds with an old klingon ambasador--Kael--who calls him, "Malko, son of Sabian." 

His orion aquaintances are mostly dead now, but he stil apreciates many aspects of orion culture.

First I’d like to congratulate muse on making the first character. So that’s one person approved. About the equipment, your part of Starfleet and will be issued with standard equipment for every mission. Specialised equipment will only be allowed on a mission where the captain believes it is needed. That said people do own stuff. So you can each have one “special” item that you can own and take on missions with you. However if your caught using non standard equipment you could be cautioned or worse.

About being an officer, I’m happy with people picking their own rank and duties. Though I would like to take control as either captain or second in command, not to play the game, but to be able to have some control over you and look after the ship while you lot go about your adventures. Your choice though.

Sorry I didn’t help with character creation, I'll thank muse as well, this system is quite hard to start with and it’s nice to see people helping each other. Your character looks good to go. Just remember that you get 1 level/year of work in star fleet, so it’s your choice how long you have been in Starfleet. Just don’t abuse this and say you’re a 200 year old Vulcan.

I’m reading up on all of the combat for people and ships at the moment, no star trek episode is complete without the ship getting damage in a vital way. So once we get two or three more characters done we can start. If you people do need help or more of the books you can ask me and I’ll help in any way I can.

I forgot about that but I'm going with a fresh out of the academy (ala Harry Kim).  :)

And don't worry about not being able to help with character creation.  We weren't on at the same times so I did my best to keep from holding anyone back and dove in, nabbing some help when I could.

i know this is really mean. Muse and Lunarice might not like it, but I’m thinking that we should drop the system and go free form for the most part. it would be easier for the players that don’t know a star trek system and we could get this show on the road faster. I’m just putting this out as an option. If you people want to stick to the system I will, its just I notice a lot of players are going to need help with it.
