Mordred

Lurking in dark
Eyes filled with spark
Pulse sends it's hark
The Shadow doth pounce
*See Pillory*

olive

She thinks quickly,
steps aside slickly,
said Shadow dives strictly
forward and fails.

Mordred

He grabs at air,
But she was just there!
Her pulse so sweet and rare,
The hunger soars.
*See Pillory*

Her time biding
while babes are crying,
and old people dying.
Yet time stands still.

olive

And to recap...

QuoteSoftly creeping,
there she was, weeping
and carefully keeping
her secret safe.

Lost in the hall,
mirrors large and small,
she could only crawl
and inch forward.

Everywhere,
she could only stare
into the horrid glare;
blindingly bright.

Without a nickel
truly in a pickle
She was definitely fickle,
she is dirt broke.

This lass would not mope,
always flowing with hope,
finding an envelope,
holding a coin.

Grinning with glee
She does quickly flee
To hide under a tree
Her prize in hand.

For you see, it is gold,
Very shiny, yet so old,
In the palm, icy cold,
It is priceless.

Life had been cruel
Poverty the rule
Now a precious gold jewel
Her fortune changed.

Her life could change
such things to arrange
still it seemed rather strange
who left it here?

There was no mark
just one smudge quite dark
on white envelope stark
so none can say.

Smudge like dried blood,
or a splash from mud;
the thought makes her heart thud.
Speculate

Slight tinge of red
someone may be dead
that thought filled her with dread
fear now takes hold.

What pain endured,
violence assured,
her soul though was allured,
glittering gold.

Such a treasure
gives her much pleasure
value beyond measure
well worth the risk.

Hidden away,
nobody could say,
suspicion shed allay,
the gold was hers.

One thief sulking
Silently skulking
A large brute quite hulking
She must beware.

It was somewhere,
His treasure so fair,
He had planned with such care,
But where's the gold?

Just one sweet taste
Of fortune make haste
There is no time to waste
It must be found.

A noise ahead,
She heard a soft tread,
Her heart pounded in dread,
Someone was there.

His movement slight,
She's breathless from fright,
Utter darkness of night,
Footsteps behind.

Fear swirls around
How hard her heart pounds
A crescendoing sound
She has to flee.

Chill of knowing,
Her anguish growing,
Flash of metal showing,
In beam of light.

The blade through air,
Misses by a hair,
Jumps away from danger,
Flight is the way.

Fleeing the knife
Her heart filled with strife
Running fast for her life
Lost in her fear.

His prey now caged
He follows enraged
A predator engaged
Thrill of the hunt.

His hand closed round
Her arm he had found
Roughly she spun around,
Greed in his eyes.

Screams held at bay
Trembling fears obey
In vain jerking away
She drops the coin.

Tumbling it falls
They both gasp appalled
To his knees in a crawl
The gold is all.

Time to change course
And push him with force
Frantic need rushes forth
To keep her prize.

Powered by fright
Using all her might
Outlined faint in the night
The knife and coin.

Sensing her chance
She makes an advance
Knife in hand power stance
Grabs for her gold.

She has his prize
Fear shines in his eyes
Her anger starts to rise
Hate in her soul.

Trembling conscience
Soft breaths in silence
Seduced by pure vengeance
Her fateful choice.

It's time she fought
How many she thought
Their brief spans lived for naught
Died on his blade.

All thoughts depart
One lunge at his heart
Sorrow's glance and pain sharp
She holds him tight.

His spirit fades
She matches his gaze
Cold eyes locked in the haze
Watching him die.

Their thoughts now mesh
His last gasping breath
Her soul stained by his death
Too numb for tears.

What has she lost?
She ponders the cost
Icy tendrils of frost
Harden her soul.

Guilt she will shun
True justice was done
One last glance she must run
Blood on her hands.

Running so fast
Feet crushing the grass
The coin hers at long last
No one would know.

All this a dream
Her coin to redeem
No more perils foreseen
She seeks shelter.

And, somewhere behind,
gloved hands reach to find
the lifeless body enshrined
in the gutter.

Scratching the ear,
of faithful hound near,
he ponders on the fear
on the dead man's face.

The hound sniffs round
A trail he has found
He takes off with a bound
The chase is on.

Badge flashes bright:
pinned on chest, plain sight,
and he grips beatstick tight;
jaw grimly set.

A faint red print
On blades silver glint
His eyes narrow to squint
A priceless clue.

Small fingers fought
with large ones; each sought
for control.  This gross plot
coagulates.

She hears a howl
Police on the prowl
For this murder most foul
Panic stricken.

Like Sherlock Holmes,
in the famous tomes,
the Law and his dog combs
rain-slicked alleys.

Mind most acute
Relentless pursuit
Do they search for a brute?
Puzzle solving.

Senses focused
A trail in the dust
His face darkens perplexed
Prints are too small.

Stolen disguise
Alibi of lies
To the broker who buys
Rare and precious.

Sigh of relief
Her time there was brief
Feels safe in her belief
No one will know.

Intuition
Buyer suspicion
His new acquisition
Captured on film.

Blame to allay
He calls right away
The reaction dismay
They know this girl.

With new attire
Soul cleansed by wild fire
As proof burns in the pyre
Smiling triumph.

Flames burning bright
Deep into the night
Eyes gleaming with the light
Fire consumes all.

Tendrils of smoke
Surround like a cloak
And do snooping provoke
For one did watch.

What was achieved
They could not believe
What their eyes did percieve
What did she do.

Smug she departs
Convinced of her smarts
Detectives mapping charts
Now search the park.

Thoughts percolate
His mind calculates
He increases his gait
The chase is on.

Trace DNA
The lab calls to say
In the ashes did lay
Her name is known.

A bark does emit
Although he said quit
Sparks inside dimly lit
Madness lurks inside.

Reason is blind
Desperate to find
Every clue left behind
He wants justice.

A sword he do wield
Never shall he yield
Not even in a field
For the weeds do fall fast.

She tries to hide
He knows that she lied
With cold logic applied
Truth will come out.

Here lies a thread
Pulled from some bread
It glows faintly red
It's my yo-yo!

To no avail
She tries to derail
He is mired in detail
Too many clues.

"So when did you eat?"
He asked. "For the love of Pete!"
She replied. "Just be sweet;
Look, here's my pork."

Behind those closed doors
Far off in the moors
Where temptation soars
Wicked deeds are performed.

Nasty deeds will come:
Whilst drinking Red Rum
Women get lectured at some
Headmaster's whim.

The sound of a spank
Makes my senses bow and thank
And if I can really be frank
It tugs at my thirst.

Strange tales do swirl
But what of the girl
Searching for a black pearl
Seduced by greed.

And what of the sight
Seen only upon night
Whispered to give fright
Of what lurks under the bed.

Twisted is the brain
of the lady needing pain.
Can she be insane?
'Tis hard to find out.

Looking for a purse
With gold and pearls that were hers
Tutankhamen's curse
Intruded her mind.

Glittering loot
Ownership dispute
Authority pursuit
Thieves betrayal.

Diamonds galore
Settling the score
And digging for more
Under Godfatherly Eyes.

From the lips, an escape
Crimson trickle down the nape
Upon soft skin, perfect drape
With a lick, it is gone.

His blood infected
And gender, in time, corrected
Surreptititously subjected
To the vampires' old ways.

Such crazy tales
One old man regales
Detective who still trails
The girl hiding.

Hidden in a shack
She can't return on track
Arms bound behind her back
She moans on the attic floor.

Bound feet kicking
Around - those brutes tricking
Her to walk in, snickering
At her helplessness.

Inhale of scent
Madness in the pale gent
All reason gone and went
Oh those crimson drops.

That hanky was cute
But now it's bound over her snoot
Oh the dirty brute
Tactics employed!

Now two new gents
Speak with strange accents
Bizarre chain of events
Police confused.

"They gave us ze argent!
What could we zay, M'sieur Agent?
Ze bank did not want
Even any thanks!"

Shaking their head
To focus instead
On the evening's bloodshed
Witness dismissed.

Capone is coming!
Make sure no gun running
Tonight, or a stunning
Surprise lies ahead.

I'm dead, so what?
Can't be injured or cut!
Eternity's made me a nut
Now, about that neck!

The veins stood out,
When she gave a shout,
To dissuade the old lout,
Help if you can.

There is this thirst
Upon waking, it's first
From the vein, lovely burst
Crimson wine, you be mine.

Drunk from such greed
Compulsion drives need
What a dastardly deed
Corruption won.

Illegal fund
Used for culprits scound-
relish behaviour. Bound
she landed on the tray.

Writhing on table
Escape, she's not able
Hands tied, velvet cable
She sighs wild lust.

Dark rose blooming,
a day moon looming
the sweet smell perfuming
our memories.

Moon whispers down
Come out of the ground
Dude, new blood to be found
He clawed his way up.

Lady waiting
by cool brook playing,
a willow tree shading
her sweet flushed face.

Lurking in dark
Eyes filled with spark
Pulse sends it's hark
The Shadow doth pounce.

She thinks quickly,
steps aside slickly,
said Shadow dives strictly
forward and fails.

He grabs at air,
But she was just there!
Her pulse so sweet and rare,
The hunger soars.

Her time biding
while babes are crying,
and old people dying.
Yet time stands still.

He did not care
That cries filled the air
Or that death was not fair
He only thirsted
In the end, all we have left are memories.

There was a vampire
No one would hire
Things seemed dire
He sang a tune

Vampire sale?
Now that's a sad tale.
Singing--more like a wail.
Keep your night job.

Vampire for hire?

For blood sets him on fire.
