WIP
Name: Enthralling Victor
Sex: Male
Age:

Race: Humanish
Class: "Oodles" Sex Education Dashing Thief Swordsman
Alignment: Chaotic Good

Level: π, rounded down
EXP: 11 / 20

Basic Appearance:

Personality:
Victor smiles, winks, and flirts easily, and despite his appearance, is just as willing to solve problems with his charm and silver tongue as he is with his swordarm. Still, on the rare occasion he is driven to swear to slay a foe, he becomes implacable (though, if necessary, he will retreat to fight another day). This is a result of his training during which his mentor impressed deeply upon him the importance of oaths. He rarely gives his sworn word unless he must and not unless certain he can keep his promise, but once his word is given, he will do everything in his power to see it through. He is fiercely loyal, willing to sacrifice for the sake of those who matter to him and perhaps even the innocent– willing to go beyond shedding blood or laying his life on the line, even, once having sold his very life for the sake of providing for an ailing parent.

During his time under his mentor, she occasionally let slip that she followed a goddess named Scathatch, whom she sometimes called the Red Goddess. Though Victor did sometimes wonder if his mentor was secretly a priestess of the goddess, in the end, he came to the conclusion it didn't matter nearly as much if she was or wasn't – what mattered were her actions. As such, the secrets of those touched by the divine are safe with him unless they present a clear and imminent threat to the lives of innocents or those he cares for.

Basic Background
Victor had been blessed with charm as long as he could remember, but with very little else beyond loving parents. He spent a happy, if uneventful youth. His parents worked hard, and when he grew to become strapping and able-bodied, he followed suit. Though he played hard, too. While he and his family lacked riches, Victor found that every stranger was just a friend waiting to be made – or a lover waiting to be bedded.

All the charm in the world, however, did little to cure his mother when she fell ill, and soon it became clear that to keep them afloat and to pay for the medicine they needed, his father would soon work himself to death. His limitations painfully clear, to save them both, he offered himself up as an indentured servant. He couldn't stand by and do nothing, and this was the only solution he could think of.

Short Term Goal: What does your character want to achieve in the short term?
Long Term Goal:
• Join (or found) a guild
• Deliver the promised favor to his mentor, the She-Devil with a Sword.
NPC's: • The She-Devil with a Sword, a seasoned veteran with hair the color of flames. Seeing potential in Victor as a gladiator, she took him under her wing and taught him everything he knows about how to fight. In exchange for her tutelage, she extracted an oath that one day, she would come to Victor for a favor.

+2 to any one ability score
Powerful Presence With a regal bearing and strong personal magnetism, Victor can apply his presence more forcefully than others. Victor treats his Charisma score as 2 points higher for the purpose of meeting feat prerequisites. In addition, Victor gains Persuasive as a bonus feat.
Silver Tongued: Victor gains a +2 bonus on Diplomacy and Bluff checks. In addition, when he uses Diplomacy to shift a creature’s attitude, he can shift up to three steps up rather than just two.

FEATS
Racial Heritage (dhampir): Affected as though both human and another race
Natural Charmer: Take 20 on charisma-based checks with friendly humanoids
Persuasive: +2 bonus on Diplomacy and Intimidate checks

TRAITS
Charming:  Victor gains +1 trait bonus when he uses Bluff or Diplomacy on a character that is (or could be) sexually attracted to him.

CLASS FEATURES
Charmed Life (Ex):: Three times per day as an immediate action, Victor can add his Charisma modifier (+2) to the result of a saving throw. He must choose to do this before the roll is made.
Deeds: Victor spends panache points to accomplish deeds. Most deeds grant Victor a momentary bonus or effect, but some provide longer-lasting effects. Some deeds remain in effect while Victor has at least 1 panache point, but do not require the expenditure of panache points to be maintained. Victor can perform deeds only of his level or lower. Unless otherwise noted, a deed can be performed multiple successive times, as long as Victor has or spends the required number of panache points to perform the deed.

- Derring-Do (Ex): At 1st level, Victor can spend 1 panache point when he makes an Acrobatics, Climb, Disable Device, Escape Artist, Sleight of Hand, or Swim check to roll 1d6 and add the result to the check. He can do this after he makes the check but before the result is revealed. If the result of the d6 roll is a natural 6, he rolls another 1d6 and adds it to the check. He can continue to do this as long as he rolls natural 6s, up to a number of times equal to his Dexterity modifier (4).

Bold Thief (Ex): Victor's derring-do deed applies to Disable Device and Sleight of Hand, but not to Fly and Ride. He adds Disable Device to her list of class skills, but does not have Fly or Ride as class skills.

Dodging Panache (Ex): At 1st level, when an opponent attempts a melee attack against Victor, he can as an immediate action spend 1 panache point to move 5 feet; doing so grants Victor a dodge bonus to AC equal to his Charisma modifier (+2) against the triggering attack. This movement doesn't negate the attack, which is still resolved as if Victor had not moved from his previous square. This movement is not a 5-foot step; it provokes attacks of opportunity from creatures other than the one who triggered this deed. Victor can perform this deed only while wearing light armor or no armor, and while carrying no heavier than a light load.

Opportune Parry and Riposte (Ex): At 1st level, when an opponent makes a melee attack against the Victor, he can spend 1 panache point and expend a use of an attack of opportunity to attempt to parry that attack. Victor makes an attack roll as if he were making an attack of opportunity; for each size category the attacking creature is larger than Victor, he takes a –2 penalty on this roll. If his result is greater than the attacking creature's result, the creature's attack automatically misses. Victor must declare the use of this ability after the creature's attack is announced, but before its attack roll is made. Upon performing a successful parry and if he has at least 1 panache point, Victor can as an immediate action make an attack against the creature whose attack he parried, provided that creature is within his reach. This deed's cost cannot be reduced by any ability or effect that reduces the number of panache points a deed costs.

- Kip-Up (Ex): At 3rd level, while Victor has at least 1 panache point, he can stand up from prone as a move action without provoking an attack of opportunity. He can stand up from prone as a swift action instead by spending 1 panache point.

Dazing Charm Deed (Ex): A dashing thief takes foes aback with his forwardness, shocking them into submission long enough to rush past or stage a getaway. As a free action when he successfully feints against a foe, he can spend 1 panache point to pull the enemy into a quick kiss (or similar gesture). The target is dazed for 1 round unless it succeeds at a Will save (DC = 10 + half the dashing thief ’s class level + her Charisma modifier, DC 14). A creature dazed this way is immune to that dashing thief ’s dazing charm deed for 24 hours. Whether or not a creature could potentially be affected by a dazing charm deed is ultimately subject to GM adjudication. As a general rule, however, it works on creatures of the dashing thief ’s creature type, or on those of a different type but who share significant thematic similarities (for example, Enthralling Victor could use his dazing charm deed on any humanoid, but also potentially on creatures as diverse as dryads, tieflings, or even centaurs or sphinxes).

Precise Strike (Ex): At 3rd level, while he has at least 1 panache point, Victor gains the ability to strike precisely with a light or one-handed piercing melee weapon (though not a natural weapon), adding his swashbuckler level to the damage dealt. To use this deed, Victor cannot attack with a weapon in his off hand or use a shield other than a buckler. He can use this ability even with thrown light or one-handed piercing melee weapons, so long as the target is within 30 feet of him. Any creature that is immune to sneak attacks is immune to the additional damage granted by precise strike, and any item or ability that protects a creature from critical hits also protects a creature from the additional damage of a precise strike. This additional damage is precision damage, and isn't multiplied on a critical hit.

As a swift action, Victor can spend 1 panache point to double her precise strike's damage bonus on his next attack. This benefit must be used before the end of his turn, or it is lost. This deed's cost cannot be reduced by any ability or effect that reduces the amount of panache points a deed costs (such as the Signature Deed feat).

Swashbuckler Initiative (Ex): While Victor has at least 1 panache point, he gains a +2 bonus on initiative checks.
Nimble (Ex): Victor gains a +1 dodge bonus to AC while wearing light armor or no armor. Anything that causes him to lose his Dexterity bonus to AC also causes her to lose this dodge bonus.
Swashbuckler Finesse (Ex):: Victor gains the benefit of the Weapon Finesse feat with light or one-handed piercing melee weapons, and he can use his Charisma score in place of his Intelligence score as a prerequisite for combat feats. This ability counts as having the Weapon Finesse feat for purpose of meeting feat prerequisites.
Favored Class Bonus: 3/4ths of a point of panache
Panache (Ex): Victor is a daring combatant, fighting with panache: a fluctuating measure of his ability to perform amazing actions in combat. At the start of each day, a Victor gains a number of panache points equal to his Charisma modifier (2). His panache goes up or down throughout the day, but usually can't exceed his Charisma modifier (2), though feats and magic items can affect this maximum. He spends panache points to accomplish deeds (see below), and regains panache in the following ways.

Critical Hit with a Light or One-Handed Piercing Melee Weapon: Each time Victor confirms a critical hit with a light or one-handed piercing melee weapon, he regains 1 panache point. Confirming a critical hit on a helpless or unaware creature or a creature that has fewer Hit Dice than half the swashbuckler's character level (3) doesn't restore panache.

Thief ’s Confidence (Ex): A dashing thief ’s panache is fueled by bold acts of thievery. Whenever a dashing thief uses the steal combat maneuver to steal an object worth at least 100 gp × her class level (300 gp) from an opponent, he regains 1 panache point. He cannot regain panache in this way from a given opponent more than once per day.

For the purposes of feat prerequisites, a character with the panache class feature satisfies the prerequisites as if he were a grit user, and vice versa. Swashbuckler levels stack with gunslinger levels for the purpose of satisfying Signature Deed's level requirement. For feats, magic items, and other effects, a panache user can spend and gain panache points in place of grit points, and vice versa.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Victor is proficient with all simple and martial weapons, as well as light armor and bucklers.

Sexy character you got there Zaer. ^^

Interesting backstory too. I feel he and mine will either be good friends or bitter rivals. They seem to share similar end goals at least.
I wonder though, why Evil? He seems more neutral to me. And why Lawful when you describe how he's breaking every law he grew up knowing. He doesn't seem like he wants to follow anything dictated by others. Just wondering.

He follows his nations laws but thinks himself 'superior' enough ignore the ones which would hinder him (this case laws against arcane magic or is it all magic, including divine?). But he has potential turn from LE to LN or even more good if some his ego/pride and arrogance is chipped off but for now he is fresh arrival and still has some his nations bias towards outsiders and non-humans. But despite those attitudes he is otherwise open minded scholar and he does seek want to do a good change for his country for sake of his affection for his favorite concubine.

But we will see how IC develops and will my char get accepted in or not into the roster :).

I think even a desire to do good and make something better already makes him intelligible for Evil, but let's see what the GM's say on that. Likewise they can clear up the magic bias, but from what I understand its just divine magic that's being persecuted in the world, but Bedibi doesn't care about the opinions of others and just keep worshiping. Not sure though, but would be useful to know considering my character is from Bidebi.

Still could use some polish... Still need to pick one more trait, one more skill, and maybe a few potions, but otherwise, I think mechanically he's ready to go.

Input welcome.

Marie Reynolds, you may want to address the BBcode in your bio.

Men in general judge more by the sense of sight than by that of touch, because everyone can see but few can test by feeling. Everyone sees what you seem to be, few know what you really are; and those few do not dare take a stand against the general opinion. Therefore it is unnecessary to have all the qualities I have enumerated, but it is very necessary to appear to have them. And I shall dare to say this also, that to have them and always observe them is injurious, and that to appear to have them is useful; to appear merciful, faithful, humane, religious, upright, and be so, but with a mind so framed that should you require not to be so, you may be able and know how to change to the opposite.

Well, what I understood from Bidebi is that they are heavily religious lot and so suddenly discriminate against divine servants (clerics or paladins) would not make much sense such culture while arcane discrimination makes more sense (need GM confirm this ofc). What comes to wanting to do good deeds; well LE is sort who can do good things for those they care about (family, clan, nation etc) while being absolute evil towards outsiders and such. Plus LE is 'tyrant' archtype after all.

Hello everybody!

As promised, Flint and I have been discussing your applications intensely all day (currently 6pm-ish for me) and have come to a decision. It wasn't easy by any means, but we have finally decided who will be joining the current party on their journeys in Merctown!

DRUMROLL PLEASE!

Congratulations to Josh Arcanum, Hexed, Mister Ugly, Codexa and Keyotess! We loved your characters and they each fitted specific roles that we needed filling, so welcome aboard! You will all be getting PM's soon with further details!

- Hexed / Tessela Jones (Swashbuckler 1 / Bard 2)
- Mister Ugly / Titch (Unchained Rogue / Witch Doctor) -
- Codexa / Kallis (Unchained Ninja) -
- Josh Arcanum / Bartholomew Fletcher (Fighter) -
- Keyotess / Muineth (Paladin) -

To everybody else, we really are sorry. If we could have picked more, we would have; alas, more than 8 people and we begin to stretch ourselves too thin. If there are any vacancies in the future, we will be reopening recruitment and you are all more than welcome to reapply then.

Thank you for your interest, but Recruitment is now CLOSED.

Have a good day, guys!
