How could anyone not desire her?
How could he not?

It was said that she was ‘touched’, that the incident at the lake brought her own soul close to the spirit realm, and it was that very reason why her father isolated her.
Confined she was from the world in Bracken Dale Cottage. Secluded. Alone.

Reputation could be thoughtless spiteful.

He knew of that. He understood.
Practiced in marriage he had been. Widowed twice.
Suspicious it may have been given the inheritances, the wealth that saturated his accounts, his lands.

A terrible beauty it was, that of love.
And on occasion, one could not help but to surrender to the mercy of seduction.

Notes: Looking for a partner to write from either the perspective of a Victorian gentleman--or--the lady. It is a corruption of innocence tale, romantic yet dark, a hint of Gothic, but what the plot entails, that will be decided upon through collaboration with my writing partner. Kinks may include: sexual tension, loss of virginity, age differences, dominance and submission, obedience and whatever else suits the story.
