And Yet, You Say You Love Me.....
- by Edhel Tari, August 11, 2010, 11:32:46 AM

Words,
like brutal artillery,
escape from your precious lips,
leaving me fatally wounded.
Undone, crumpled about your feet,
tortured, disgraced,
I die a thousand deaths of shame.
My demise at the hands of one
who claimed their fervid love for me
notwithstanding.
The Mystery of Man
- by Edhel Tari, August 11, 2010, 11:30:00 AM
Perplexing to feminine thought,
a man's love seems easily fleeting.
Swept stealthily away by a puff
of perfume scented air,
a hint of a smile.
Male strength, desired completely,
by woman's wonton, gentle heart.
To catch, hold and claim it
as a possession to be owned.
Yet....how can one own
what by nature has no cage?
For not even men own their own hearts,
answering a primitive call
in wild abandonment,
without forethought.
An urging power to spin its seed
wherever it can find a field to be tilled.
And many are the fertile grounds
that willingly lay down its garden
to be sowed.
For Karen (passed away 7-28-10)

Forgive me for my need to write something for her.  It also helps with the grieving.

Goodbye, the final whisper sighs,
as a broken heart makes leave.
Within space dwells words unspoken
like ashes of poetry.

Heavy the spirit, burdened the soul
on broken wings it falters.
Longing to leave life's trials behind,
among the living, man-made altars.

She longs to go home, let her go home
to that glorious space before time.
Where heartache never dares to touch
a delicate heart sublime.

To soar to a place she knows not of,
and yet, closing in more each day.
Calling, ever so sweetly, it begs,
"Come away.  Come away."

"You are done my blessed spirit,
you've more than paid your dues.
Too long you've been absent from me,
and I desire to be next to you."

Silent Rage

SILENT RAGE

Your silence enfolds me
like a black cloud hides the sun.
Your peace taunts me
with its ability to deny touch.
My spirit profusely bleeds
from your noiseless rebuffs.
A wanderer, searching for escape
from your soundless forest.
You, watching amused at my trial,
a hint of pleasure reflecting in the eyes,
a mirror of my rejected, loving heart,
and the truth impales me into silence.
WOULD YOU BE MINE?
- by Edhel Tari, July 05, 2010, 06:28:45 PM
WOULD YOU BE MINE?

What if I approached.....intent
on touching you till my resolve is spent,
caressing soft hair between finger tips
searching for your hidden strength.
Would you be mine?

And if I...with all my feminine charm,
your defenses my goal to disarm,
pressing soft against your manly chest,
face to face, breast to breast.
Would you be mine?

What if I...gazing into your eyes,
discarded your shirt, I most despise,
where lips meet mine, and flesh to flesh,
and heaven is lined in carnal depths
Would you be mine?

And if I...arms round shoulders, sway
to the rhythmic beats your heart will play.
Shyness, nor feigned naivety displayed
as I take dominion over my foolish prey.
Will you be mine?

What if I..cascading on your bed,
became a gentle captor instead.
both lost within our animal lust
moaning in ecstasy with every thrust....

Scribblings from the Heart....

NIGHT

Night brings the beauty of the sun to rest
and slowly persuades the night to sleep.
The blanket of peace and quiet calm
is mingled with the darkness
to create a beauty that only god could dream.

And as each child whispers their sincere prayers,
it is within the darkness they are read.
Which makes me ponder as to the beauty,
said to be found in the light,
and the taboo of the darkness.
